Keith Houchen
Chilli. The boy needs a time-out, work on his gags. Again, that's our fault, surely?

Keith Houchen
Chilli. He needs a break, otherwise I fear the forum's heading for another shit , but hilarious "Partridge runs bare-foot moment" Surely that's more reason for anyone to stay? Mind you, we've had our Chili moment, I reckon a few regulars are close to Dundee.
Paid Members Up Chuck Posted August 6, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted August 6, 2012 That's a fucking super-obscure reference, Keith.

Paid Members Up Chuck Posted August 6, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted August 6, 2012 Is it not a thing in Stewart Lee's book? Or has more than one person used Dundee as a metaphor for comedically jumping the shark?
Paid Members Arch Stanton Posted August 6, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted August 6, 2012 Is it not a thing in Stewart Lee's book? Or has more than one person used Dundee as a metaphor for comedically jumping the shark? Nah, it's a straightforward Partridge reference, opcws. Keith Houchen
Well, Stewart Lee (and Richard Herring) did come up with the Alan Partridge character. Lee did mention Dundee in his book, yes, but to be honest, it was a follow up to the Partridge reference in the previous post.
Paid Members Up Chuck Posted August 6, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted August 6, 2012 I haven't watched a whole lot of Partiridge (not through disliking it or anything, I just never seem to find the time to get properly into it). Was the basic idea of the joke similar? Because if so, we're either missing an in-joke between Stewart Lee and Armando Iannucci, or it's an almighty coincidence.
