Again, gutted that I wasn't able to make this or any other FutureShock event over the last 18 months, since they really were one of my favourites and presented a form of pro wrestling that really connected with me.

Rather unfortunately, it also looks as though I won't be able to make either of the upcoming August or October dates either, due to various holidays and trips away already planned :(

Are the FSW DVDs available to buy online anywhere, rather than just at the live events? Would love to catch up with what I've been missing.

quality show......only downside for me was bell being rung and Raynes music hitting before the end of the bout

Agreed but mistakes like that can and do happen - that's part of the excitement and experience of a live show.

I thought last night's show was one of the best FutureShock shows I've seen and they have to be congratulated on the fact that in terms of quality, they just keep raising the bar.

The highlight for me had to be the Gallagher/Richards match. Jack Gallagher is one of the most improved technical wrestlers on the British scene and his match in FutureShock's 51 show against Joel Redman was outstanding, but against Richards it was phenomenol and the crowd last night knew they had seen something special. Can they keep on giving Gallagher the challenges he appears to thrive on? I look foward to finding out.

By far the best independent show I have seen, stolen.

Sam Bailey v Baron Bohka - Exactly what you want from an opening match, started off the night with an entertaining match.

Xander Cooper v Drew Gulak v Joey Hayes - Very good triple threat.

FutureShock Womens Championship, Rebecca James v Charlotte Quinn - Good Women's match, James plays the cowardly heel well.

ROH World Champion Davey Richards v Jack Gallagher - Stole the show, good old fashioned wrestling match!

Sean Daniels v Nordic Warrior - Big man vs little man match, did all it needed to do.

DDL, Raynaldo and Sparx v Cyanide and The Blackpool Blonds - Good 6 manner, excellent finish with DDL delivering a Razor's Edge/Sitdown powerbomb to Cyanide.

FutureShock Championship Match - Dave Rayne w/ Greg Lambert v Johnny Phere - Really good main event, topped off a really good night of wrestling.

Looking forward to the August show!

Ringside with Jesse.... FutureShock 52!

Sam Bailey vs. Baron Bohka

The show kicked off with Superstylin' Sam Bailey, having previously failed to take the FutureShock title off of Dave Rayne, now up against one half of Ring of Horror, Baron Bohka. Bohka's strength was up against the speed and experience of Bailey, with Bailey quickly going on the offensive, running Bohka around the ring, much to the amusement of the crowd. Unfortunately that couldn't last forever, and once Bohka got his hands on Bailey, he began to put on a dominating performance, throwing the Fresh Prince of FutureShock around like a ragdoll. Just when it looked as though things were all over for the fan-favourite he pulled out a thunderous bulldog for a two-count. Sam set things up for the BailOut, but Bohka found reserves of strength to catch him and turn into a backbreaker. With the momentum firmly back towards Bohka he wrenched Sam's arm, going to the top rope for an old school neckbreaker but at the last second Bailey broke the hold, dropping Bohka to the canvas where he rolled him up for the three.

Triple Threat: Drew Gulak vs. 'Hot Stuff' Joey Hayes vs. Xander Cooper

As a last minute change to the card, CZW's Drew Gulak was added to the Hayes vs. Cooper match, but it was clear from the off that Cooper had not forgotten what Hayes had done to his tag partner two months prior, with Xander immediately focussing his offense on Joey with an array of incredible aerial moves, including a springboard crossbody. It was at this point that Drew's plan for victory became clear, taking advantage of the distracted Xander, driving him to the mat and stretching him hard. Xander fought back, taking on both men in turn until he was caught with a vicious doublestomp from Joey. This was followed by a sequence of two-counts between the three men, each looking to grab a surprise win. After this broke down Xander took to the air again, attempting to crossbody both his opponents, but their combined strength was too much, catching him and then hitting a sick fallaway slam. The two looked set to work together until Drew turned on Joey, expelling him from the ring just in time to turn into an MXC-3. Xander failed to hit it properly however, and he was unable to capitalise, but a german suplex and top-rope dropkick later and Xander gained the pinfall on Drew.

Women's Championship Match: Charlotte Quinn vs. Becky James ©

The first defense of the Women's Title never looked to be a long one, with the blood running hot between these two wrestlers, the match turning quickly into a brawl, spilling to the outside. Becky seemed willing to do anything to retain the advantage in this match, including biting Quinn's face! Becky quickly became the dominant wrestler in the match, choking Quinn on the ropes and then in the corner and gaining the ire of the referee. Quinn looked out of the match until she managed to fall out of a scoop slam and strike back with a reverse DDT, coming within half a second of gaining the belt. In a pique of rage, Becky fired a flurry of offense at Quinn, following this up by climbing to the top rope and missing a doublestomp. She crumpled to the floor in agony, clutching at her ankle. As the referee turned to inform the announcer that Becky could not carry on she revealed it to be a ploy, springing to her feet and delivering a hideous punt to Quinn's temple, knocking her clean unconscious and allowing her to retain her title.

Jack 'Grappler' Gallagher vs. Davey Richards

The atmosphere in the hall was absolutely electric for this as the 2010 trophy tournament winner faced off against Ring of Honor's current world champion, Davey Richards. They both went in immediately looking for holds with strong matwork from each while the crowd chanted evenly for both. The Grappler gained an early advantage with a dropkick, but that's not enough to do more then bruise the ego of a world champion and Richards fired back with a hard suplex, following up with a knee that nearly turned Gallagher inside out. The two men then began to trade forearms that could have knocked the head clean off a normal person, and it was here that Davey's conditioning won out, giving him the advantage over the leaner Gallagher. Richards used this advantage to climb to the top rope and leap off, looking for his trademark diving headbutt, but Gallagher rolled out of the way and caught Richards in an armbar. Davey rolled out of it, managing to put Jack in an anklelock in the process. Jack fought back to his feet, before launching Davey across the ring with a tiger suplex and nearly getting a pinfall on the World Champion. Undeterred, Gallagher climbed the turnbuckle, hitting his very own diving headbutt on the prone champion, yet was still unable to hold him down for three. Both men then continued to trade submission holds, Richards looking to finish Gallagher with an anklelock, but Jack always escaping and locking Richards back into an armbar. Just as it seemed neither man was going to be able to finish the match Davey caught Jack with an absolutely massive brainbuster and covered him. Still, Gallagher somehow managed to kick out, but it seemed like that had sapped the last of his energy as Davey caught him with not one, but two martial arts kicks to the side of the head, finally defeating the Grappler.

After the match Davey got on the microphone to praise the trophy tournament winner, going so far as to call him one of his toughest opponents, and the next in line to British wrestling legend Dynamite Kid.

Nordic Warrior vs. Sean Daniels

After the interval the show re-opened with another speed against strength match, this time with fairly unsuccessful wrestler Sean Daniels up against his frequent opponent, The Nordic Warrior. It went similarly to their earlier matches, with Nordic's strength proving too much for the smaller man in the early going, until seemingly out of nowhere Daniels fought out of the Crash landing, instead catching Nordic completely off guard with a crossbody, before launchign into a sitdown facebuster. Former wrestler/commentator Chris Egan ran out to interfere, but was too late to stop Daniels from gaining his first win in the company. Egan, Nordic and Bohka then proceeded to batter the young wrestler until Sam bailey ran out to fight them off, only to receive a double chokeslam from the Ring of Horror tag team.

Six-Man Tag: Sparx, DDL & Raynaldo vs. The Blackpool Blondes & Cyanide

This was a fast-paced six-man with both teams vying for early control, but with Raynaldo leading the charge with a huge huracanrana followed by Sparx's sucide tope through the ropes to all three opponents on the outside. Just as the Blondes regained their feet it was DDL's turn to launch himself over the top rope, catching them all with a huge plancha! Unfortunately this was nowhere near enough to put them out of action and soon after the Blondes had control of the match, tagging in and out regularly and making use of every sneaky trick they knew to keep control. It was all going swimmingly for them until out of nowhere Raynaldo landed an overhead pele kick, leading into Sparx hitting his own Sliced Bread No.2 before Damon came in to hit the Damon Dust! Just as things looked ste for a DDL victory Cyanide re-entered the ring and nearly killed Damon with the biggest dropkick I've ever seen. At this point, Mike 'Lovejoy' Fitzgerald decided to make yet another appearance, leading Sparx to chase him around the ring, stopped from gaining his revenge by JD Sassoon grabbing his leg, allowing Lovejoy to take Sparx out with a shot to the back of the head from his hard hat. Back in the ring, Cyanide was on the second rope, about to splash a prone Raynaldo when Damon reappeared, rolling Ray out of harm's way and instead grabbing the big man and hitting a crucifix powerbomb on the 300-pounder putting him clean out for the three.

Main Event FutureShock Championship Match: 'Psychotic Warrior' Johnny Phere vs. Dave Rayne ©

Phere couldn't wait to get this match started, desperate to gain some measure of revenge on the Authority and to put the title back in FutureShock's control. As soon as the bell was rung he was on Rayne, firing vicious strikes to the head and chest of the Champion. The crowd were firmly behind their hero Johnny Phere as he used the match's No Disqualifications rules to full effect, brawling with Rayne all around the Guildhall, even from where I was sat I could hear Phere constantly screaming in rage as he punished Rayne for everything the Authority has done to him over the past six months, going so far as to suplex him directly onto the hard wooden floor. In desperation, Rayne tried to lock in a sleeper hold, but Phere fought through it, hoisting Dave onto his back and then driving him headfirst into the unprotected ring apron. It seemed like Dave was knocked out cold as Johnny rolled him into the ring and covered him, but incredibly he kicked out just before the three. The match turned into an absolute slugfest between the two as the beat the living daylights out of one another, only for Dave to be caught by a vicious knee form the Psychotic Warrior. It looked like the finish as Phere lifted Rayne into the air for a Ram Slam, but Dave struggled free and caught him with a sidewalk slam instead. Phere regained his feet just in time to be caught with a discus forearm directly to the back of his head!

Rayne made use of the temporary advantage to ascend the tunrbuckle, but he took too long and Phere was able to climb with him and hit Dave with a massive superplex, leaving both men down. At this point, unbeknownst to Johnny, Greg Lambert slid the FutureShock title belt into the ring, allowing Dave to conceal it beneath his body. As Phere regained his feet Lambert clambered up onto the apron in an attempt to distract him and got a punch in the mouth for his troubles. it was enough though as Dave caught Phere square in the face with the FutureShock Championship. The crowd groaned with dismay as Rayne covered Phere, but the second before the referee's hand touched the mat Phere somehow managed to kick out!

Unbelievably, Phere managed to fight his way back to his feet and lift Dave up for a Ram Slam, but Dave wisely grabbed hold of the ropes, gripping tightly as Phere tried to pull him off. Eventually, the unique mixture of strength and rage that fires Johnny caused him to tear Rayne away from the ropes and deliver a devastating Ram Slam! The crowd were on their feet as he pinned Dave for what was sure to end the match. But no! Again, Dave Rayne managed to kick out. Rage now filling Johnny entirely he lifted Dave as if to hit yet another Ram Slam, but this time Dave was ready for it, and countered with the DV8, finally vanquishing Johnny Phere and retaining the FutureShock Championship.

After the match Rayne was celebrating in the ring, crowing on the microphone about how he'd beaten the best that FutureShock had to offer, and that whoever they found to face him in August would be a pushover. That was when the screen behind him lit up , revealing that on August 28th at the Stockport Masonic Guildhall, Dave Rayne would be defending his title against none other than COLT CABANA!!! Rayne slumped to the floor as the crowd erupted with wild cheers. Surely this would be too high a mountain for even the Authority's hand-picked champion to surmount.

At least 190, possibly broke the 200 barrier as a few people came in during the second match.

Me and my woman missed the first bout like, the guys kindly brought out 2 extra seats for us from which we had a pretty fucking decent view of the action.

Official Attendance was a sell out at 182.

Could have been a nice round number then if us two twats hadn't have turned up! ;)

Randomly related to topic - My bird mentioned speaking to somone off this board outide the hall who encouraged her to join. Whomever that was, she say's you were buzzing.
