Just a heads up that I think tomorrow is the last chance to play any remaining week one games before they go to an FA panel's decision. These are the remaining games from weeks one and two :-

WEEK 1

Arsenal v Lyon

Barcelona v Man Utd

Lyon v A.C. Milan

WEEK 2

Everton v Lyon

Lyon v Dortmund

Obviously it's unlikely that the Lyon games will get played but whoever is Man Utd needs to get in touch with Lawz to arrange their game, Lawz is usually about and is very contactable.

Man Utd 0-2 Barcelona

Villa 2' Villa 86

Barcelona got back on track at their visit to Old Trafford and burst out the block again, the lovely throughball catching Evra at right back let Villa through onside and although Evra tried in vein to get close and stop Villa, the man who can't stop scoring slotted home beautifully in the corner. Chances in the match fell mostly to United who were chasing the match and tested Valdes a number of times, Berbatov mostly who nearly scored on 45' mins as the half came to a close. The second half saw more possession for Barca and United did create chances, but after a smart save by Valdes from Rooney on 85' mins, Barca countered with speed and set Villa chasing through on goal, with Van der sar rushing out and Vidic showing Villa on his left side, the Barcelona striker cut inside on his favourite foot and placed the ball cooly in the net on the edge of the 18 as Van der sar came to meet the ball.

Inter Milan 3-2 Tottenham

Scorers: Inter- Chivu (42), Sneijder (45), Militio (52). Spurs- Pavlyuchenko (62), Modric (80)

After a team bonding session in Atlanta last week, it was time for the Italian outfit to return to the UKFF league and attempt to pick up from where they left off prior to their trip across the Atlantic. Tottenham have some interesting recent history in other competitions against Inter, so they fancied their chances of putting a stop to Inter's ascent near the top of the UKFF table. In the first half Inter had the majority of the possession, but due to Spurs' resolute defending it seemed like they couldn't get a sniff near Gomes' goal. Inter just couldn't find a way through, and towards the end of the first half Spurs tried to break the deadlock. After a dangerous free kick only just went over the crossbar, Jermaine Defoe was put through shortly afterwards, but much to Julio Cesar's relief he couldn't keep it on target.

Inter needed a response, and their opportunity came after a strong Spurs challenge earned them a free kick just outside the box. In their last game against Roma, Inter were lethal from set pieces and this proved to be the case again today as it earned them their first goal. Milito's clever ball towards the far post found the head of Chivu on 42 minutes, who headed back across goal past the despairing Gomes to give Inter the lead, and Chivu's second goal in as many games. Three minutes later, Spurs were again undone at the back, a clever through ball finding Wesley Sneijder one on one with Gomes. Making no mistake, Sneijder netted his second goal in as many games to completely change the complexion of the half time team talks in both camps.

In the second half, Spurs started the brighter, passing the ball around well and looking likely to spring an attack at any moment, but what happened next effectively cost them the game. A back pass found its way to Gomes, in no danger whatsoever. Gomes inexplicably softly booted the ball back outfield. Unfortunately for him, it fell into the path of Militio, who did the needful from 25 yeards out and looped the ball over the head of the stranded Gomes to make it 3-0, socre his third goal of the competition and effectively make it game over here, or so we thought.

Spurs created mroe chances after this, but Julio Cesar held firm between his posts. Eventually though, Spurs pressure would tell, and Pavlyuchencko blasted home an excellent strike just after the hour mark to give Spurs a fighting chance. Inter suddenly didn't look so invincible, and a nervy finish was set up after Luka Modric scored a second Spurs goal with ten minutes of the game remaining. Inter desperately tried to avoid giving the ball away after Spurs revival and this may have resulted in a couple of dirty tackles from the Italians, but ultimately they held on to keep their unbeaten run in the competition going strong. Spurs once again made it a cracking contest against their old European rivals, but Inter continue their impressive start in the UKFF league.
