Moderators Astro Hollywood Posted January 25, 2011 Moderators Posted January 25, 2011 Why do the British media have to treat the Oscars like the fucking World Cup? It all becomes about sticking it to the Yanks. There'll probably be a free Colin Firth window poster in tomorrow's Sun.
Mr. Seven Posted January 25, 2011 Author Posted January 25, 2011 Full list posted now. Â Woyzeck, how long before "The British Are Coming" is wheeled out?
Paid Members Scott Malbranque Posted January 25, 2011 Paid Members Posted January 25, 2011 I'm a fan of some of Franco's work, but how he got the nod over Gosling is beyond me. I've seen 127 Hours and Blue Valentine, and Gosling's performance was far superior and had far more depth. Â Along with Timothy Olyphantastic and Tom Hardy, I'm gay for Renner so I hope he wins, because he's the best thing in 90% of the films he makes - The Town included.
GalaxyV.2 Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 And why has 'The Kids Are Alright' been nominated? Honestly I found that film to be horrendously sexist. Moral of their story- Men are only good for wanking in cups.
Mr. Seven Posted January 25, 2011 Author Posted January 25, 2011 Inception is up for best film. It shouldn't be but at least Nolan got snubbed.
GalaxyV.2 Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 Sorry missed it. Well I'm suprised Nolan got snubbed, whatever your thinking of the film I was sure he'ld be up for it.
Harvey Dent Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 Hard to pick winners for me as I made the mistake when it was released of writing The Social Network off as just some film about Facebook I didn't care about, so I still haven't seen it after being told a million times I should. If Natalie Portman doesn't win best actress I'll eat my hat.

I love Renner too, but his performance in the Town (which I really liked) is hardly Oscar worthy. I would have preffered Andrew Garfield to get nominated for the Social Network or something.
sivy Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 bale must win supporting actor for the fighter, he's incredible and i think Portman is a shoe-in to win best actress.
OI OI SAVELOY Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 It's hard to believe that Jesse Eisenberg, who not long ago was simply considered to be a clone of Michael Cera, is now up for a best actor award at the Oscars. Madness!
Mr. Seven Posted January 26, 2011 Author Posted January 26, 2011 Eisenberg is capable of being more than entirely one-note though.
The King Of Swing Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 From what I have read about Black Swan Portman <-- click on 'spoiler' to show/hide the spoiler lezzed up in it  [close spoiler] ");document.close(); so I'm guessing she is really desperate for an Oscar.
Paid Members FLips Posted January 26, 2011 Paid Members Posted January 26, 2011 It's the main reason I couldn't get into Scott Pilgrim more than I did other than the heaps of effects. Michael Cera wasn't Scott Pilgrim, he was Michael Cera.
Paid Members martyngnr Posted January 26, 2011 Paid Members Posted January 26, 2011 Trent Reznor winning an Oscar would be fantastic and thoroughly deserved.
