Probably the weirdest MMA related story of the year...

Superherox-large_large.jpg

This world is full of all sorts of crazy, folks.

Look no further than Seattle, Washington, and the situation surrounding Ben Fodor. That's his real name and if it sounds familiar, that's likely because his brother, Caros Fodor, fights for Strikeforce as a lightweight.

But it might also ring a bell because Ben isn't just an aspiring professional fighter -- he's also a superhero.

He traverses the mean streets of Seattle as "Phoenix Jones," complete with costume and pepper spray, to keep the peace and make our world a better place. He even calls himself the leader of the "Rain City Superhero Movement."

Sometimes, though, things don't go as planned.

Fodor recently used pepper spray on a group of individuals outside a night club, which has landed him in some hot water. He thought they were fighting while they were simply "frolicking" and he was eventually arrested for assault.

He's out on bail now but is due in court on Thursday.

Crime doesn't pay, y'all. But, apparently, neither does fighting it in a costume while calling yourself a superhero.

Thats crap, all just because idiots in America wanna watch UFC at 9pm instead of 8pm? Idiotic move from UFC, not only affects us in the UK but also in the East-Coast of America & all of Canada as shows will start at midnight for them.

If the people buying the PPVs want to watch PPVs at 9pm instead then it's not an idiotic move at all.

But when it is done just to satisfy a minor part of the market that being the West-Coast (who get to see events at a perfect time regardless of if its an hour earlier), yet the rest of America (Central, Pacific, East Coast), Canada & Europe (the latter two also being massive markets for the UFC) suffer just because some people can't be arsed to watch a show at 8pm but are perfectly fine with watching it at 9pm?

What part of that isn't and idiotic move by the UFC?

How do you know it's a minor number of people that don't like it? I'm fairly sure that they had good reason for switching the time back to the way it was. I'm equally sure that they didn't do it for shits and giggles so soon after they changed them in the first place. They're never going to keep everyone happy.

To call the move idiotic is idiotic in itself.

One for fans of the early days, courtesy of Middleeasy...

As far as bouts that will go down in the immediate future, get ready for Tank Abbott vs. Scott Ferrozzo II going down October 30th in Dayton, Ohio at the Dixie Cowgirls Night Club.

The venue is an old strip club and the 'dance stage' will be converted to a cage. The fight will use UFC 1 rules which essentially means the two fighters can headstomp, eye gauge, knee to the back of the spine -- pretty much all of those rules that were placed to prevent a fighter from being fatally injured in front of a live audience have been removed. According to Joe Show Radio, the fight will only be stopped if one fighter is about to die.

The venue has been selected, money is in escrow and the entire event will apparently be streamed live. Basically what we're trying to say is the match is the closest thing the world has to Supremacy MMA, which is available worldwide right now -- so pick it up.

I've gotta see this. I didn't even think Tank was still fighting let alone Ferrozzo coming out of retirement. He was a morbidly fat cunt back in the mid 90s, fuck knows what state he's in now. I loved the first fight though, it was ugly as hell but it was a gruelling brawl with a shitload of trash talk even during the fight. I'll be tuning in for the epic rematch :D

Anytime Ferrozzo's name comes up I immediately think of this interview from Ultimate Ultimate '96

Hong Man Choi has been arrested for assaulting a woman

South Korean mixed martial artist Hong Man Choi has become the latest fighter in trouble with the law after being booked for assaulting a woman.

The seven foot two inch star of K-1, Dream and Pride FC supposedly punched a woman in the face after an altercation in a bar he owns in South Korea. Apparently the woman refused to pay a tab she had ran up, after it became more expensive than she initially thought.

An altercation then started, with the woman telling police that Choi struck her.

Witnesses have stated that the woman was heavily intoxicated and was verbally abusive towards the kickboxer/mixed martial artist, and not only made derogatory comments regarding Choi

No Randy again :( and some notable names like Bonnar and Gustafsson are missing. I'd rather them 2 than Hamill and Diabate but no biggie. Chuffed to see Little Nog in there this time.

THQ did say aswell there will be Middleweights who will be playable at 205 like last year, including Wanderlei Silva, Anderson Silva, Michael Bisping etc.

So Rampage Jackson is looking into going into Boxing...

MANILA, Philippines - Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight champion Quinton "Rampage" Jackson is planning to switch sports once his contract with the mixed martial arts promotion expires.

In an interview with ESPN.com, Jackson revealed that he is planning to turn to boxing, as he is becoming frustrated with the opponents being put in front of him.

"I hate fighting people who are scared," Jackson told ESPN. "When you fight somebody who is scared, you never know what they're going to do. They turn and run."

"That's why I'm gonna go to boxing. I'm gonna try boxing because they've got to stand with you. If I get knocked out, I don't care because at least it's a fight," he added.

Jackson's last bout saw him get submitted for the first time in his career, tapping out against Jon "Bones" Jones in the fourth round of their main event fight at UFC 135.

It was a frustrating night for the hard-hitting Jackson, who was unable to mount a significant challenge against the younger Jones.

According to ESPN, Jackson would most likely have a last fight against Forrest Griffin next year because his contract expires.

The former champion is confident that he will succeed in his new sport.

"I've tried a lot of boxing. I'm falling in love with boxing and I know I can put (people) on seats over there," he said.

kinda weird how Jackson gave Jones gave Jon Jones props after their fight yet now Jackson is kinda indirectly bringing up the excuses Jones always said he would have. I don't think it'll ever happen, thoughts?

King Mo has already piped in with his thoughts... Here
