The Whip by Serengeti. It's an MMA inspired rap song that appears on his latest album Family & Friends. It's a song about what might have been. A song about how life might have turned out if only things had gone differently. I like it a lot.

You should listen to it. You might like it too.

HOUSTON – UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva will grace the cover of "UFC Undisputed 3."On the main stage of UFC Fan Expo Houston 2011, UFC president Dana White today revealed the winner of a fan-driven vote that ran from Aug. 26 to Sept 30."I'm very happy," Silva said after the announcement. "Thank you to my fans and my family. For me this is a great, great, great dream."Silva emerged from a pool of five UFC champions that also included Frankie Edgar, Jon Jones, Georges St-Pierre and Cain Velasquez.anderson-silva-ufc-undisputed-3.jpg

Silva's the deserving winner.

Knew Silva or Jones would be a lock for the cover.

Have a look at this aswell, Guillard vs Pettis full fight video for Undisputed 3

It's confirmed aswell that Nick Diaz, Mayhem Miller, Phil Davis and Brian Stann will be bonus fighters if you pre-order. Not sure if it will be the same in the UK, last time GAME offered the bonus fighters so I assume it will be the same this time.

To the casual MMA fan, Kenny Florian's name might not immediately seem like it belongs next to those of Chuck Liddell and Matt Hughes.

It might not even seem right nestled next to Forrest Griffin and Stephan Bonnar.

And sure, the 35-year-old "KenFlo" will likely never find himself in the UFC Hall of Fame, but according to UFC president Dana White, Florian (14-6 MMA, 12-5 UFC) is among a handful of legendary competitors who will always have a home in the world's biggest mixed-martial-arts promotion.

"I've got nothing but respect for him, and Kenny Florian will be with us no matter what," White said following Saturday night's UFC 136 post-event press conference.

It's a nice vote of confidence from Florian's longtime boss, but the eight-year pro hardly seemed consoled by the gesture. Instead, a visibly pained fighter sat quietly in his chair and politely answered

I think along with Mir, FLorian makes for a very good play by play man, which with their expansion into the FOX network gives them another option for that commentary team. I've always liked Florian and it's a shame he's unlikely to win a title, if he decides to carry on fighting. But it's good to hear that Dana wants to keep him around no matter what the outcome.

Watching UFC 136 at the mo. just got past Sonnen's promo about the rematch with Silva.

He's pretty much backed Silva into a corner about taking the fight, as if Silva give him the rematch it makes him look like a bitch. Not that Silva wouldnt give him the rematch, I'm sure he would. Whereas Sonnen laid down the terms "if you lose, you leave the [middleweight] division", essentially saying "You give me a rematch, but if I win, I wont give you a rematch". Surely Silva, as the regining champion for the last 5 years would be entitled to a rematch if he lost.

Another thing I was thinking about, at UFC 137 Donald Cerrone will fight his 6th fight in 13 months (going back to the jamie Varner fight on September 30th 2010 at WEC 51). Whereas Carlos Condit will be fighting his 3rd fight in the same timeframe. Do you think there should be a minimum nmber of fights a fighter should have per year (injury/sickness pending)?

That's a good point. Also by the end of this year Jon Jones will have fought 4 times this year. I suppose it's up to the fighter in the end, Cerrone is one of them guys who always wants to fight and he's been quoted in the past saying 'if anyone drops out put me in' kind of thing. He's always ready to go and unless you're one of the higher paid fighters, fighting regularly is a must for some of them financially.

Cerrone is a beast, I couldn't even hate him when he beat one of my favourite fighters in Oliveira. Now I'm backing him to beat Siver and help avenge Sot's loss. Rashad has fought, what, once in the same timeframe? Before the Ortiz fight it was the Rampage fight in like June 2010. Lesnar's fought twice while battling diverticulitis, and filmed a season of the Ultimate Fighter. Pull your head in, Rashad Evans.

Do you really believe that Anderson Silva decides who he gives title shots to? He'll be told who the number one contender is, and when & where he's fighting him by the promotion. All of the stipulations that Chael made should also be taken with a grain of salt.

This isn't WWE. there'll be no televised contract signing with stipulations and so forth.

Yeah Anderson won't be held to any of that leave the division shite but I fucking loved it all the same. Reminded me of that Hart Foundation interview before SummerSlam 97 where Bret said if he lost he'd never wrestle in America again.

Just seen this on Cage Warriors

Ross Pearson is doing a trial weight cut to 145 and it's said to be going well

"The attempt at 145lbs is going good. I started at 176lbs (80kg) and now I'm standing at 169lbs (76kg). I want to be at 164lbs (74kg) next week."

When asked about whether the weight cut has affected his strength, he replied, "no not at all, I still feel strong," as he continues to train at Salford Muay Thai and with his Rough House team mates in Nottingham.

Pearson at 145 would be great. Pearson vs Korean Zombie, Mark Hominick, Tyson Griffin, Nam Phan. Endless possibilities.

I love how in MMA these days new televised events keep popping up...i thought it was going to be a quiet one this weekend with only Bellator having a televised show, but i just found out that an W-1 MMA card featuring a main event of Marcus Davis and Chuck O' Neill is also on :) this makes me happy.

It's all on the fighter if you ask me. Obviously money is a motivating factor to fight more than usual, but there's certain guys like Cerrone (Leonard Garcia, ironically his best friend another one). Who just love fighting and you feel would probably do it for nothing. Many guys like to stay active because of ring rust and stuff as well. Some guys blow up big between fights and like the time off, there's so many factors involved.

I think if a guys willing to fight 6 times a year and he's medically cleared to do so he should be allowed too.

I mentioned this weeks ago Wand, keep up!

Also that article is wrong, he no longer trains at either Salford Muay Thai or Rough House. When he is home he trains at Spartan MMA but he is enjoying it so much over at Alliance MMA in San Diego (where he is now) that he is going to be moving over to the US permanently after Christmas to train there full-time.

Phil De Fries (Sunderland fighter who is making his UFC debut at UFC 138 next month) is also training at Alliance MMA in San Diego. Phil is going to make a scene in the UFC Heavyweight division (not Champion but for sure a longterm mainstay), that I assure you. He is 6-foot-5, absolutely lean and has insane grappling skills (which I've witnessed first-hand) but also is a very heavy-handed striker - even just his jabs continually break facial bones.

My mate, a strong HW with 2nd dan black belt in BJJ, rolls with him regularly and said even just at closed guard with Phil on top its just like trying to get a bear off your chest.

I really can't praise him highly enough, he is going to be a fantastic addition to the heavyweight division.

, Phil shows some fantastic grappling and ground n' pound in the 2nd round.

He is going to tap out Oli Thompson (former Strongman) within a round imo, at UFC 138.
