  1. My friend swears by the original Green Lantern / Sinestro Corps stuff,

Thanks, I'm downloading it now, (I far prefer to read real paper comics but fuck trying to get a load of 5 year old back issues from different titles, plus this is free)

If I enjoy it your reward will be a piping hot cup of coffee or hot chocolate (whichever you prefer) next to your bed when you wake up tomorrow morning.

  2. Plus, the back up feature is The Question, which I also love.

Thanks for the advice with Green Lantern Blackest night, sounds a tad big to get into now plus I hate storylines that involve even minor characters being killed.

Is the Question still a chick? I really like the 80s Vic Sage Question, I'm not sure about this one.

What's the best DC storyline from the last 5 years? I love DC comics but I mainly read back issues from the 80s because that's my favourite period, I'd like to check out something newer for a change (Superhero stuff preferably).

  3. check out Marshal Law by Nemises duo Pat Mills and Kev O'Neil,

YES!!! One of the best comics ever!

Does someone want to give me a brief spoiler free overview of what the Green Lantern Blackest night storyline is? it seems massive and I'd like to get into it but I find getting into a new big storyline a bit daunting as I never know where to start. Also is it any good?

    Cheers

  4. I'm not into older women at all

    BUT

For me this thread can only be about one woman

PS I really don't get the Lorraine Kelly love whatsoever

  5. "All Australians look the same."

"If they haven't made a film out of it, then it's not a decent book."

    "She's in the top 20...she's 22."

"I can remember Supergran but I can't remember what it was about."

"Just because he's won every trophy, it doesn't make him a good manager."

"The group is called the 5,6,7,8'S" That's because they couldn't count to four.

While watching the film Pitch Black, he commented, he's neither good nor bad he's pure evil.

"we've always eaten meat, you can tell from the photographs of cave men."

"I'd rather be rich and miserable than poor and happy"

"McFly and the beatles are exactly the same. They are both shit"

"The iPod is not an mp3 player."

"On Honey I Shrunk the Kids, he should have shrunk a large pizza, then everyone could have had a small pizza each".

OMG! I really want to meet this guy (is that wrong?) these are amazing! These are my favourites, the ones in bold are extra good!

Thanks for making me laugh so hard!

  6. Yep that match between Lita & Trish where Lita nearly broke her neck doing a tope was the main event of that night's Raw in December 2004.

I'm fairly sure that was the most recent time a women's single match main evented a WWE show.

Thanks, I'm glad I remembered it right, can't believe it was 5 years ago though.

It was great, good to see something different like that headline a show, wouldn't've worked with different Divas though, those 2 deserved to be in the main event, they were over as fuck.

  7. Is it my imagination or did Raw have a women's title match as the main event in the last 4 or so years?

I seem to remember it happening and being a big match, also it being the main event of Raw was a really cool change of pace and a nice show of respect for the hard working Divas...

    If it happened that is.

Who was in the match and when was it (Lita/Trish maybe?)

  8. Jordan - was in blockbusters and she was in there, short and looking a bit rough, this was before she even met Peter Andre, I was looking at Pitch Black and she stopped and told me it was rubbish, quite shocking, I just looked at her and like smiled not knowing what to say to the fact that Jordan started a conversation with me. she walked off and I rented Pitch Black.

    You should've taken her advice

  9. i called Matt Bellamey (Muse) a cunt becasue he got Andrew W.K. kicked out of the signing tent at Leeds 2002, because he had over-run by 2 minutes

    Good one!

I'll elaborate on my Linda Blair being a dry bitch story for Woyzeck, I go to those conventions sometimes like memorabilia, collectormania, London Expo etc because I collect action figures and comics and I like getting signed pictures of people from horror movies and cult films (not dr who and shit like that though).

Anyway, I'd wanted to meet Linda blair for years but everytime she'd been at one of those things, she only had pictures of herself from the exorcist or recent ones where she looked well old. I'm more of a fan of her 80s work when she was always getting her tits out in magazines and prison b movies so as I knew the show was coming up I bought a nice picture of her showing lots of cleavage from ebay (I especially chose one that wasn't naked incase it offended or embarrassed her but was still racy enough for my pervy needs). anywho, I went to the convention, paid

  10. Hey, can anyone recommend me a good place to start with The Green Lantern? I love DC comics but I never really got into him, I'd like to check him out, any particularly good stories involving the fella?

My personal favourite is "New Journey, Old Path", but I also love "Brother's Keeper" (a VERY modern story), "The Power Of Ion" and "Circle Of Fire". These are all my favourite Lantern, Kyle Rayner, though. "Traitor" is a good one if you want to see Abin Sur, Hal Jordan and Kyle Rayner in one story.

Preferably nothing too contrived, and preferably Hal Jordan too (no negro GLs thanks)

    Safe geezers

Deliberate trolling aside, John Stewart is one of the best written superheroes ever - why would you not want to read his stuff? I read Mosaic on Alexander's recommendation, and it's fucking tremendous. And Hal Jordan is boring as fuck - if you can't get into GL normally, Jordan won't help you. Best to read the more maverick ones, like Stewart, Gardner or Rayner.

Thanks dude, I'd read some john stewart stuff down the line but I'm a bit old fashioned when it comes to comics and I don't really like new versions of characters (I know Hal Jordan wasn't the first GL but he is the classic one) and I just fancied starting with him, thanks for the recommendations, I'll get on them and let you know what I thought.

  12. Masters of the Universe

Was on ITV4 Last night. Thought it was pretty cool. Had never seen a Dolph Lundgren film other than Rocky IV. Anyone reccomend other good Dolph films?

    Red Scorpion

    He steals ,Johnny Mneumonic

    Dark Angel

and though i havent seen it for years, i didnt think his version of the Punisher was too bad

Showdown in little tokyo is far better than any of those films, so is universal soldier.

He's done a few straight to DVD films in recent years, Missionary man is good, Diamond dogs is ok (I'm being kind) and the defender is fucking abysmal (I'm being kind there too)

  13. Anyone know the reason why Sting is able to use WWE's footage of WCW matches on his Moment of Truth film? Did they grant him permission to use the footage?

2 reasons, they knew it would be the best film of all time so they said that he could use whatever he wanted, also he said God would punch them in the kidneys if they didn't let him use whatever footage he desired.

  14. This is a pathetic question but I'm sure it's not bothering too many people being tucked away in this threadWhen are ECW and Impact actually first aired in the UK every week?Sometimes I see an episode of Impact that looks ancient and other times I seem to see the same one twice. I can never get to grips with when ECW is on either, if someone could just let me know when they first air and when the repeats are I'll love you forever like Jessica Simpson.
