Steve Blackman vs Dan Severn. Blackman has always been one of my favourites and I've recently started to appreciate how badass Severn was. These two would have probably kicked the shit out of each other, especially during Blackman's hardcore champion run.

Apologies to take this slightly off topic, I thought this match has happened so I went to google and the first image that came up was a picture of Shamrock, Blackman and Severn walking down the aisle as a trio. Outside of wrestling that would’ve been absolutely terrifying.

  2. Michael Gove was asked about this report and said it was ‘slightly off’. That’s not a defence at all.

I guess we’re stuck with these clowns for now, who I assume are trying to do the best even though the horse has bolted. Not that I vote Tory, but in my little world I assumed the my were doing the best they could.

    Hannibal sorry to hear that

Well he's not "one of my mods" for starters, but yeah thanks for the post forums user "Rapey Eyes"

My username was changed to this hilarious name for some reason or other many years back. Apologies I thought you were the lead mod in place of Moo

This has already started, albeit under different circumstances. Today alone there have been two separate cubicles where the toilet roll has been replaced, but they haven’t pulled the first sheet through so nobody can get at it.

For context, this is the sort of dispenser I’m talking about, except with a lock on it:

    DF920-B50-8393-48-CD-8620-D29223181010.j

Is it one of the white plastic boxes with 2 dispensers? The ones at work can be knocked open with the right force, normally it’s the right hand lock to tap on, and then it’ll pop open. Failing that it’s really carefully pinching the toilet roll out at the point where it comes out of the hole.

I assumed they were all dead siths. Just like their used to be loads of Jedis back in the day. They talked in the film about the lack of hope. We have seen in all the previous films that people hid away, knowing they would be fighting a losing battle because of strength in numbers. I see nothing wrong with that. Leia's training took place after Jedi and stopped when she was pregnant. When would it have been referenced? The rest of your comments make you seem about 12 years old so I am not even responding to them. Fucking hell

Sorry to be disrespectful, i should have said why did Amanda Lawrence’s character start snogging someone at the end, it did seem odd.

In my opinion some of the backstory was convenient, and I’m not sure I could just accept it. I’ve enjoyed all of the Star Wars to date, but I know a lot of Star Wars fans who hate them for plot holes, not being Star Warsy enough. Maybe this is Star Warsy, it’s just not my cup of tea, and I felt like slagging it off, it cost me £11 to see it :)

  6. thinking back on it now, I still dislike the film.

Who/why does Palpatine have so many followers? Where were all the other ships in the prequels, why did they just turn up cause Calrisian said so? Why did we never hear of Leia’s training before this film? How did they just get away at the end of the last film? The knights of Ren were totally pointless. Why did the woman with the funny face just start snogging someone at the end of the film. Why did Rey kiss Ben? It seemed a bit out of place. I really hope I like it when I watch it second time around.

  7. Cheers Hannibal and Johnnyboy

I thought the film was pretty horrendous. I've really enjoyed the last couple of films but this was crazy. Setting the film up using the starting credits was really lazy, and could easily have been covered in the last film. Which reminds me the end of the last film about the boy using the force to get the broom seems totally wasted.

I hated Hux being the spy, that was probably the stupidest part of the entire film.

I hated Fin not declaring his feelings for Rey.

I hated Leia being a jedi, when did that happen? Oddly, I didn't think using old footage of Leia was that bad, but I wasn't thinking about it at the time, I'm sure I'll hate that too when I watch it again.

I hated a lot of it actually. Adam Driver has saved this series with his acting.

  8. I don’t follow politics a lot, but a big problem I had is that Jezza never denied by a terrorist sympathiser, never denied being pally with the IRA. He let the press totally destroy his character and never a bad word back. I’m not saying he should have a slanging match but at least stand up for yourself. If I’d had to vote for a PM rather than a local constituent I wouldn’t have bothered, in my eyes the lot of them are idiots and none worthy of running the country, anyway my vote for helping the worse off seems wasted due to complete lack of understanding what’s important to the electorate.

Yikes. But nothing surprises me. The shit Ainsley Harriot would come out with in between takes on ready steady cook about production staff was awful and I can’t watch anything with him in without thinking of it.

Basically the media is full of cunts

    You’re baiting Johnnyboy there

Man, last week was eventful wasn't it? Imagine sacking one of the best young progressive managers in European football and replacing him with that poisonous prick. He's obviously going to help them finish higher than they currently are (I think top 4 will still be a tall order), but Jose and Levy is a recipe for disaster. He's going to bully a couple of their youngsters into depression on the way to leaving the club in flames a couple of years down the line.

Meanwhile, Unai Emery still has a fucking job.

Unfortunately he had stopped progressing at Spurs. Granted he moved us so far forward but the last year has been a nightmare aside from a couple of good results in the Champions League.

9/11 and Diana are the two stand out moments.

For 9/11 I was at home getting ready for an evening shift working at Sainsbury's. Saw it on the telly and then at work we were all sat in the staff room watching further events unfold. Remember that evening vividly. For 7/7 I was in Alton Towers. Mad to think that if it happened today, I'd be directly impacted given where I work.

As for Diana, I was on my paper-round when somebody told me. I instantly didn't believe it because in the days/weeks/months leading up to her death, she was in the press like you wouldn't believe. I've never seen so much media attention on one person over a similar timeframe in my life (Beckham comes closest, but he is still distant). As I saw the front page of every newspaper every morning, you could guarantee she was on the cover of at least one of them. The media were absolutely fucking relentless- pics of her and Dodi on boats, doing this, doing that- you couldn't move for Diana stories and features. What a load of absolute privacy-destroying wankers.

I was in the clubhouse at Seashore Haven holiday camp in Great Yarmouth when Arsenal beat Everton 4-0 in '98 to win the league.

I'm devastated Gus got in there before me with the @Thunderplexjokes. That's ruined my afternoon now. Was gonna go with VE Day, but Archduke Franz Ferdinand tops it.

Edit: Oh, and I was in my living room, intently watching things unfold on BBC News 24 when Raul Moat was on the run. The Gazza run-in is still the greatest live news plot twist I've ever witnessed.

Mmm, oddly I was also doing a paper round on the Diana day. We probably had rival rounds. I was Martin’s at Staple Tye. I remember being really fucked off that they not only cancelled the Athletics meeting I was supposed to be doing they also cancelled Liverpool vs Blackburn I think, was looking forward to that as a back up to the athletics.

9/11 I’d woken up after doing a night shift at Tesco, turned the telly on and saw the second plane hitting the tower. All very surreal to this day.

As good a place as any to drop this:

Showing off massive shits to your friends is normal behaviour. In work once I did such a good poo that I left it and cleaned my arse in another toilet (the cubicle next door) as I didn’t want to cover it up.

Ole will turn them around. You watch 🤪.

Hopefully theyl employ big Rio as well as the dressing room enforcer.

Even there only one truly worldclass player in the sticks is in decline. I’ll give Ole till christmas until the fans start calling for his head.

Weren’t you leaving this thread about 4 pages ago?

Danny Rose is one of my favourite players but he is not a midfielder. Janssen tried very hard, and was unlucky at the end. I cannot believe he is only 24. Watch him go back to the Eredivisie and pull a Tadic.

Alli had one of the worst games I’ve ever seen him have, and looked shattered. Tuesday is one of the biggest games in our history, and Ajax will carve us open at will if we play like we did today. I don’t know who will play up top. Probably Llorente, and he is just nowhere good enough I’m afraid.

    @Monkee glad you’re fully COYS now :)

Everything Alli tried failed miserably. When he goes missing he is a big loss for the team, his normal holding the ball up and bringing people into play is very underrated.

What stand are you in on Tuesday? I’m north upper and boy is it a long way up

  15. 3 hours ago, SuperBacon said:

But the situation is fucking dire at the moment. I never want to see Rose in midfield or Llorente and Janssen on a pitch together. Or Foyth at right back.

We are short and people are playing out of position to make do.

Jannsen actually did ok when he came on. And Danny Rose put in a shift as always, vilified by the armchair brigade but for the people that actually go to games he’s one of our hardest workers. Sonny on the other hand was dreadful all game (as opposed to every being poor in the second half), considering he’s not playing Tuesday he should’ve run himself into the ground today.

Trent Alexander-Arnold is a fucking great player, but shite me, when a right back scores 8 and assists another 9 in all competitions you have to wonder why that lad isn't getting in teams of the year.

Doherty is massively unlucky to not be in that team. I’m surprised Pogba is in that team when Hazard isn’t. Pogba has scored a few goals (struggling to remember any aside from penalties), but Hazard has dragged Chelsea to the verge of the Champions league next season.
