Nothing wrong with Lewis being in there, he's had a great end to the year, and would be more than capable of holding his end up. I wouldn't mind Mark Webster being in the PL, he cant do any worse than Klaasen last year can he? Or one last swansong for Manley? Colin Lloyd has been fairly consistent this year, and Colin Osborne has been quality on the floor, but has had shockers in TV tournaments.

Taylor will walk the premier league, more than likely beating Whitlock in the final, I think Whitlock and Taylor will be ruling the PDC for the next year or so.

What the fuck is wrong with Taylor tonight? His finishing when he has loads of time is shocking, but he's pulling out unbelievable finishes when Whitlock is on a single dart finish, the man is awesome.

Went to the Warwickshire V Cheshire game the other week and had a pint with my old mate Steve "The Muffin Man" Hine, he told me that John Gwynne said to him that he hoped that he plays Andy "Pieman" Smith soon on Sky as they both bring a plate of muffins and pies to the Sky team when they play. Gwynne was hoping for dinner and dessert apparantly.

Manley vs Andy Jenkins, two of my least favourite players against eachother!

I thought Andy Jenkins was banned until April or something for assaulting Terry Jenkins (this is why he is my least favourite player, as Terry is my favourite, I would love to marry his moustache).

EDIT - Caven vs Anderson looks great aswell. If Caven can reproduce the form from earlier on this year, Anderson could be out early on. He's a terrible starter to tournaments, so the last thing he needs is a good opponent early on.

Tony O'Shea does look quite good in this competition. I think Webster will do him in the next round.

Can't see past Taylor really, even though he played a shitter last night, he might have done that to let Van Der Voort get a win under his belt. Nobody else is playing anywhere near the best of their ability, I dont think Taylor will lose anymore than 5 legs now. The only player in the tournament that can beat him is Mervyn King, and then he'd have to play a blinder.

What happened between Part and Barney not shaking hands, John just walked straight off. Did he say anything about what he did? I turned over as it went to an advert then fell asleep before it came back on!

I think Barney, and Taylor are nailed on for the playoffs. I reckon King and either Wade or Part will get the final space.

Did anyone else think the entrances were beyond embarassing? The trumpeteers during Merv's entrance were so out of tune.

Ive watched a load of the darts this year, but seemed to have missed every one of his matches. He must have played all his games in the early afternoon, when I cant watch it. He showed some decent stuff in the Grand Slam, so seems to be a Top 16 player for sure.

 

 

Baxter and Barney had a classic game. Possibly even better than Mardle/Thornton. That last set was unbelievably good entertainment. Barney has so much class and bottle. When it comes to crucial doubles, Barney almost always hits them. He hit some belters last night.

 

 

He now plays Klassen, who beat Hamilton. Klassen is playing the best darts since his switch to the PDC. Quality scoring and great on the doubles.

 

 

Unless Klassen pulls something out of the bag, it looks nailed on to be Barney vs Taylor in the final.

If anyone can turn Taylor over, it'll be Merv, who's already done him at least twice this season. He has a real good chance, that's if Taylor gets past Stompe, who has also beaten him this year in a PDC final in Germany.

Stompe destroyed Mardle, who just didnt turn up.

 

The first set of the Painter game raised hopes of this being a great game, but he just didnt do much after it and lost in a boring game.
