  1. I have been recovering from surgery and have been unable to go to the office. As such I haven't been able to get my fix of those savoursmith wagyu beef and mustard, so I finally caved and did a bulk order...

Is it just my need for everything to be orderly or is 11 years a weird amount to lie about. 5 or 10 years, fair play if you can get away with it, but 11, he must be a psycho.

Depending on when he made up the lie maybe it made a nice round number at the time.

Probably an unpopular opinion - and I'll preface this by saying calling any genre of music 'intelligent' is obviously a bit naff - but subgenre classifications are a really handy way of identifying and sharing what you like,

The other reason I dislike IDM apart from the use of the word intelligent is because it's an extension of the simplification that is lumping all dance music in to 'EDM' which does the opposite of what you say, because it's broad and shit.

  4. I don't love the idea of rebooting naked gun but Akiva Schaffer is good, and Liam Neeson can do comedy. The joke writing is going to be really hard to nail and feel authentic, funny and not too forced to try to feel like the original.

  5. I seem to recall they tried to give them a bit of a redemption in the prank story but I wasn't buying it. They were dickheads.

I quite liked Afterlife and the new spooks were really good but there's no denying the last 20 minutes or so of it were embarrassing.

Yeah I felt the same. The end was shit but on the whole I thought it was solid.

It seems like some people would be less disappointed in him if he just hadn't expressed any women's or trans rights support in the first place. Which is just bizarre to me.

Is it bizarre though? You can only really be disappointed if you have any raised expectations to begin with.

  8. I watched all three Pitch Perfect films, and The Proposal with Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock.

Perfect kind of background viewing whilst I've been playing the new Prince of Persia game on my Switch.

The Proposal is a really good example of how stupid and unrealistic the whole lot of 2000s 'grand gesture' romcoms are. Because it has good performances and a few decent moments of comedy but the whole romantic plot is just so unfathomable that it makes the movie nonsensical.

The genre really has gotten a lot better and I can't imagine that this and the uptick of diverse voices in movie making in Hollywood are a coincidence.

Pitch perfect 2 was pretty poor, coasting off hitting the same notes as the first. I like that they did something a bit different with number 3.

  9. I frequently don't agree with Loki's opinion but I can't recall any that have felt inauthentic and I'm confident enough in my judgement to be satisfied with that. At least not in off topic anyway. I don't spend quite as much time in on topic so can't say what he might be posting there.

The other two are definitely on the wind up and it didn't take a revelation of a secret forum to figure that out.

So I'm struggling to see how this really changes anything in a way that is worth the upset caused by stirring the pot.
