Your boy on the left has been prominently featured in the People Who Are Pleasing To Look At thread, I believe.

Well, I mean, anywhere he is featured it would be hard to be anything but prominent...

But I’m sure that, much like Chest, I’ve spent too many hours wondering how 2 Broke Girls would’ve and/or should’ve ended.

I think you know very well that any amount of time spent thinking about how it could've ended is too much.. i can tell you how it should've ended though; canned after the pilot.

Shows like NCIS, Grey's Anatomy, Criminal Minds, get way more streams than most original shows on these platforms.  Only Stranger Things breaks the Top 10 Most Streamed since 2021.

That's why there's suddenly been a glut of these old shows appearing on streaming - Criminal Minds, Law and Order, Monk, CSI have all appeared in the last 6 months.  Sometimes the deals are odd too - CSI Las Vegas is Season 10 onwards!  It's cheap obviously but it's also a strategy to keep people on the platform for longer periods and counter the join/leave cycle that some viewers are trying out.

If I was Netflix I'd be working on producing some long-series, episodical tv shows of that nature to accompany their marquee drama shows.

I don't disagree with any of this. My point was more that they need to be cheap because their appeal lies in there being a lot of episodes.

  4. Not to get in to ratings chat, but no one is joining for Monk. It's a background binge watch; the streaming equivalent to daytime TV.

They have their place, but the budget reflects the value.

  5. I'm loving the sound of this! I used to play Warhammer as a kid, I've got some mates who play a lot of blood bowl but I can't get in to it and my brother plays Age of Sigmar, but that is still too space and time consuming for me to get in to.

This seems like it'd really scratch the itch for me. I'm off to watch videos and look at pictures of minis!

Edit: I'd love to have a read through the rulebook if anyone happens to have or find a link to a pdf..

This is something I've had to kind of teach myself to consider in other areas too - I used to be really critical of Chyna being used as an example of female empowerment in wrestling, because I don't think that was ever the intent; Chyna being strong and fighting men was never meant to say "women can be as good as men", it was a freak-show act to say "this woman can wrestle women", because she was the exception to the rule. But then I speak to lots of women in wrestling who were inspired by Chyna, and whatever my thoughts on her and how she was booked, it's only right that I take a step back and let the women who did see her as empowering and inspirational step up.

Yeah that's a weird one that is. When you're part of a group that is really starved of representation you frequently find the positives in less than stellar examples. Which then become very dated as we make progress. Brings to mind the whole Apu thing, and Peter Sellers doing brown face.

  7. Apologies in advance for being a dick as this relates to charity but you clearly know this thread is not a fundraising thread and bumping the progress of your appeal to solicit donations under the guise of it 'cheering you up' is not cool.

  8. Ah, I see. If that's well-understood then it's unlikely that anyone else is making the same incorrect inference that I have done.

It's not really unclear, though. She tweeted a denial that trans people were targeted by the Nazis during the Holocaust.

I think I might be getting confused because you were talking about anti-Semitism, and it seems the two are in this case completely unrelated?

My understanding of 'Holocaust' and 'Holocaust denial' has always been that those terms refer specifically to the systematic genocide of Jews in Nazi Germany, and not any other social groups targeted by the third reich. That doesn't seem to be how those terms are being used here.

I don't think it's helpful to use ambiguous language to imply she has been expressing anti-Semitic views.

  10. Well yeah I was trying to find out about the Holocaust thing specifically as that sounded pretty extreme.

And then what I found was a journalist publicly apologising for calling her a Holocaust denier and some sites saying it was all a load of bollocks and others saying she was the new Hitler but I couldn't really get a clear picture.

I'm not going to lie and say I put loads of work in, nor am I asking you guys to spoonfeed me..  But it was more the point that if it's that unclear, people with be unlikely to be motivated to change their behaviours and I can't really blame them.

I know you don't "do Twitter" but interested to see whether you have looked at her Twitter account and still don't see the presence of malicious intent.

I haven't done because I know I can't see replies and that without an account, so I figured I wouldn't be able to get a proper sense of the conversation.

  12. I'm struggling to find any decent sources of news on all the jk rowling stuff that are genuinely informative on her position and what others have said etc. I'm somewhat motivated, but can't say from what I've read whether I really agree wholeheartedly with all the accusations against her (I don't agree with her position but am unclear on the presence of malicious intent).

So at this point I find myself in a position where I couldn't blame anyone for just continuing to consume her product and line her pockets.

  13. I know this wasn't supposed to be the takeaway from that post but i would appreciate a post about Rumbleslam in more detail in the gaming thread if you ever fancy doing that....

  14. I am surprised that someone who posts on this forum so regularly would have such an unfortunately vivid olfactory imagination. I shudder to think what's going through your brain and nose reading this place at the best of times.

  15. Yeah it's definitely going around. My brother, wife and nephew have all had it. I feel the start of a cold coming on today and hoping it's just that and I don't get the same thing.
