    And that's it, really.

I remember him doing a promo a few weeks back after his ppv match vs Black where he practically said "oh I could turn heel and win the aew championship... But I won't cos I love you all" was the worst.

He hadn’t - 6 Man Tag was at IYH: International Incident in July then the Michaels/Vader title match was at Summerslam in August.
Prior to that Michaels had the No Holds Barred against Diesel at IYH: Good Friends, Better Enemies in April, then two defences against Dave Boy at IYH: Beware of Dog in May then King of the Ring in June

Ahhhh apologies. I was referring to a six man that happened on raw when Vader pinned Michaels again.

Ill see if I can find it.

Even in the dark ages of the New Generation when Vader pinned HBK in a 6 Man Tag he got a title match at the next PPV.

Actually he didn't. Vader had already had his ppv shot at Michael's prior to this six man.

Isnt that how Chyna got the shot at Jarrett's IC Title, she signed an open contract on his door?

    Correct.

Billy Gunn asked her to guard the contract whilst he found a pen, then when he went around the corner she signed it herself.

  5. If the biggest change Tony Kahn and AEW bring to wrestling is to change the stigma to how talent is handled with respect whether it comes to work / life balance, physical & mental health and (in the sad case of Brodie Leigh) death, then long may it continue.

Sure it's a real shame were missing out of a big match etc etc, but how amazing must it be for talent to have confidence that they can say "look I have this problem" and to be 100 percent supported by your employer. It's genuinely amazing.

So Moxley is possibly or I'm guessing definitely out of any future plans. Who cares, hope he does well from this.

All the best for Moxley and a real classy post from Tony Kahn.

REALLY curious as to how they'll handle this. Have Orange go through via a bye? Fill in replacement opponent? If so who?

Best has got to be The Rock in the Deadly Game tournament at Survivor Series 1998, right?

The tournament divides opinion, and I'm often torn on it myself, but what I think cannot be argued us how brilliantly they book Mankind to appear as though he's Vince's chosen one while The Rock appears to be defying the odds stacked against him before the big swerve is revealed. I never saw this coming at all. I was well on board The Rock as a babyface in the few months leading up to this. It's just brilliantly done.

Absolutely. And when you look back on the tournament it all makes sense. Bossman allowed himself to be eliminated, Bossman "helped" The Rock beat Shamrock by throwing him the nightstick and they put Austin on the other end of the bracket to give themselves as many chances as possible to get rid of him before the final.

    Brill booking.

  8. In defense of Tony Nese, you need bodies to put over the real stars, so the argument is that there is value in bringing in a preliminary talent with some name value.

Ultimately he's not going to be pushed in any meaningful way, and it's better to put him in that spot that hire someone of greater value (e.g. Wyatt) and try an force them into a already crowded upper / main event scene.

The tape traders of the day were in uproar claiming this new channel was going to put them all out of business. The two guys behind Outcast Video (quality trader btw) in particular had a proper meltdown in a thread on here when plans for TWC were announced.

Any threats from any of the traders Herbie?

I have minimum sympathy for people who make money from breaching copyright when someone is doing it legitimately.

Congrats on all you have accomplished Herbie. Massive when you look back on it. Also the experience of producing LDN TV for it will always go down as a very useful experience when continuing my time in wrestling.

With the title eliminator happening we'll know Hangman's first challenger coming out of Full Gear, right? So presuming it's Mox (as the most likely candidate and tying into the finish og the Casino Ladder Match) we'll probably just get promos and the like rather than fucking about in each other's matches in the lead-up.

I dunno. My money is on 10 to win it.

I think all the G1 chat is to keep fans happy but unlikely. To be there in time he’s missing dynamite and rampage tapings for weeks, and why would aew let a top talent miss 2 months of tv to boost a competitor? Can see him doing the Dome type shows, Mox G1 worked with aew not on tv yet.

Because Kahn is a fan at heart, and there is value in having Danielson off tv for a little bit after a year of solid work, then make a big return two months later.

One thing AEW does well is understand the importance of not overexposing talent. In a year's time the hope is you can rely less of your Punks and Danielsons.

She came in demanding matches and just being rude to an authority figure. No real history I’m aware of. Just crap writing.

Her "fued" with Liv Morgan was worse. Just kept blatantly excluding her from MITB. They built Morgan as a deserving entrant who was constantly screwed getting in whilst Deville's heel mates (who they never really showed being matey on the show) getting in without having to qualify.

Then she just gave it to her right at the end anyway. With zero follow up since :S

It's not even that difficult. Just show her being bessie mates with the heels and look down at the plucky underdogs. Hell with a little bit of long term booking you could turn this into a half decent Survivor Series match. Deville's Mates vs Deville's Enemies.

Hangman is going to be fine. Just look at how the recent Lucha Bros and Sammy Guevara wins were received. Due to their history, everyone wants to see him beat Kenny for the title. The problem is going to be what comes next.

They've been doing a nice job introducing some formidable heels / potential heels.

Adam Cole, Miro, Malakai Black, Cody Rhodes, Power House Hobbs, Jon Moxley.

He'll be a fine. They've done a great job preparing for the inevitable face champion.
