  1. Just saw this over at 1wrestling:

Dr. Phil Astin, Chris Benoit's personal doctor, faces what amounts to life in prison if found guilty of the seven counts he is currently indicted under. Each count carries a possible 20 year sentence and authorities are investigating the deaths of Johnny Grunge and Chris Benoit to determine if more charges may be forthcoming.

Looks like Astin is absolutely screwed.

  2. Not good, he openly said the testing was a ruse (He made that one perfectly clear), and the roids are pretty much common in pro wrestling.

How the fuck would he know?On the subject of not watching WWE out of protest, surely that's completely pointless unless you have a barb box or whatever the hell they call them? I would suggest I more effective protect would be not to attend the live events. Even then, chances are, you'll be the one sat at home missing out, while someone else comes along and buys the seat you would have had.
Nah... majority of WWE shows arn't sold out, so the guy who "would of replaced you" would of been there anyway.
  3. I'm sorry, but depression of ANY level should not drive any person to murder. If you murder whilst depressed, you are a murderer nevertheless.

Congratulations on pointing out the obvious.

It's confirmed he did it. I feel sick. Honestly sick. Part of me wants to keep coming up with theories as to why he did it. Depression etc. I've had depression and know it can be very very hard, but never would I have considered killing anyone, let alone the ones I love. The ability to do it must've been inside him anyway.I had a lot of respect for the man, but it's slipping away. I'm not the sort to say 'Rot in hell' but I retract my earlier 'Rest in Peace'.Nancy and Daniel, RIP.

Good God you really are a fucktard.Like many illnesses their are different levels of severity. Depression is a mental illness and can drive you to do things that are really not normal for you.And who said he was depressed anyway?
As someone who actually works in acute and secure mental health services I wanna point out I have never ever come across someone who killed due to depression. You say depression can make you do things you wouldnt do usually... to yourself? yes... to others? I have never ever seen it.Mike
I didn't actually mean depression could drive someone to murder. I was merely pointing out the complete stupidity in rockbus post. I've seen depression and been around it. Suffered with it myself for a short while. Self harm is the only out of character effect I've seen/been through.
A man's family have died today in tragic circumstances, and people like you coming onto this thread to just wind up people honestly affected by it are starting to do my head in. A lot of people are honestly in shock/grieving and people like you coming on just to get people's backs up is starting to get annoying. Of the 80 odd pages in this thread, 20 of those are probably arguing, and I for one have had enough. If all you are going to do is insult people, don't bother. You wouldn't do it to their faces, but because you have the safety of a computer screen feel you can say what you like. It's time some respect was shown in this thread to those that have been affected, whether it's those involved, those close to them, or people who have followed the careers of those involved for maybe 20 years.I certainly hope others feel the same.
A man's family didn't die. A man killed his family then killed himself. BIG difference. And I'm not coming on here to wind people up. I've made 4 posts int this thread (including this one). One of them was pointing out the idiocy of your post. Just you, no one else. Get over it.I've read on a couple of sites that the texts that were sent by Benoit contained passages from the Bible and details of his will. Has this been confirmed?I imagine, considering their was no suicide note, that we will never find out why all this happened in the first place. That's got to be difficult all family members and close friends. Also, any word from Kevin Sullivan (he was married to Nancy once wasn't he??).
More accurate looking reports are going out that five texts messages (to multiple wrestlers) were sent out. Essentially they contained the following information:The back entrance is open. His physical address. The location of his dog and the fact they had been fed.
  4. Bottom line is that all I have learn't from your post is that WWE have technically broken the law

Then so have the Police, whom said exactly the same thing.
No they haven't, stop making things up. WWE have posted it as fact, the police have reported it as "a belief", otherwise they'd have closed the fucking investigation by now.
Thank you Carbomb.Unfortunately some people don't seem to like the fact that were actually paying attention.WWE: Chris Benoit DID IT!Police: We suspect Chris Benoit did it.Professional journalists: The police are reporting that they suspect Chris Benoit did it.Sadly it appears that WWE do not have professional journalist on their staff, hence the massive glaringly obvious fuck up in their press release.
  5. Of course it's more than speculation -

At 10 p.m. Monday night, Lt. Pope held a press conference in conjunction with Scott Ballard, the district attorney for Fayette County. The press conference officially ruled authorities

  6. Is it possible that wife and child were poisoned for whatever reason and Benoit commited suicide later?Seems a possible if unlikely scenario but does blow out all this 'clear cut, he did it' stuff.

Yeah, but the police aren't looking for outside parties.
.... that we know of. You know they don't ALWAYS publicise this information.
  7. wwe should NOT sell any Benoit memorial merchandise as he is supposed to be a murderer. My opinion-I respect the Wrestler CHris Benoit, but if he killed his family, i do not respect the person anylonger!

I understand how you feel, so I am not disagreeing with you, but:Considering this tragedy has had survivors (i.e. Benoit's children), do you not think that the money from such merchandice (e.g. memorial shirts) could be used to support them?
  8. To all the people that are blatently denying the truth that Benoit killed his family and then himself, what will you say when all this is confirmed sometime today?

I think you've missed the point, and I havn't seen many people "denying the truth." Hell you don't even know the truth. To say Benoit DID kill his family is categorically and technically incorrect. To say that reports SUGGEST that Benoit killed his family and that it is HIGHLY LIKELY that he killed his family based on early reports is categorically and technically correct.Let me turn this around; what happens if the evidence suggests that the above isn't true. Don't get me wrong, its unlikely, but could happen.
  9. There are no words of course. I'm off work this week so as a treat I stayed up to watch the live raw. Some treat I nearly died myself when the first thing I saw was an empty arena with Vince telling us Chris had died. (Vince did the right thing admiting his death was a work.) I really don't understand how Chris and his wife and son are dead. How could all three die? Poison? Murder what? Anyway I can't say anything else, I have nothing I can say.

As this is a 40 page thread, I think you can be forgiven.Initially rumours were floating around as to the nature of the death. Many, including myself, suspected Carbon Monoxide Poisoning based on a alledge report that Chris Benoit went home to a family emergency which had his family throwing up blood. However official reports are now coming out that Chris Benoit is SUSPECTED (though unfortunately likely) of killing his wife Nancy Benoit on Saturday, his son on Sunday and then killed himself (possibly by hanging) on Monday.Full report is expected later today.
  10. I remember as a kid watching Benoit and thinking "damn your a vicious bastard" and it made it real for me.

I remember the other week watching and thinking "damn you're a vicious bastard" and it made it real for me.
 Yeah great isn't it? Sadly being more internet based and working "in da biz", as well as getting older, I've watched less and less wrestling on telly, and as a result I have come to the sad realisation that I don't watch it through those innocent child like fan eyes anymore. And thats a really bad thing and I really miss it.
  11. How did all three die all of a sudden? This is fucking terrible.

From what I gather, the family emergency was that Chris Benoit's family was vomiting blood, which is a key side effect of severe monoxide poisoning. That is my guess, but I am in sad-anticipation of the official result. One thing I can't stop thinking about is IF this is what happen, how did it get to the point that they all died? Did Chris Benoit not have health insurance since he is only a "independent contractor?" I.e. they couldn't get proper medical attention because they coulnd't afford it? I am very very sorry if the above speculation is inappropriate, my mind is whirring at 100 mph and just wanted to get something off my chest I guess.Terrible terrible news. I know many people stopped watching WWE because of Eddie passing (not because of his post death treatment, but the actual death being so sad) and I can imagine this having a very similar effect. When I started watching wrestling, I remember as a kid watching Benoit and thinking "damn your a vicious bastard" and it made it real for me. A brillient wrestler (as I think we can all agree).RIP.
  12. Iamyourtruth should be banned for putting a private e-mail on a public forum.

Why? It's his email, he can do what he wants with it.
Ok  So if your boss sends you a confidential e-mail about new developments in the company, you can do whatever you want with it because it is your e-mail? Cool for you. I think my boss would have fired me if I put in on a forum. So if your girlfriend sends you a sexy photo on e-mail, you can put it on the web because you can do whatever you want with it? Cool for you. I think my girlfriend would have left me if I posted it on a forum.
Yeah but the fact is the person sending it to you has given you that as an option unless the e-mail had a disclaimer at the bottom the guy had every right to post this on here. If it's ethicly right or wrong is down to each person to decide as stated with your examples above. If this all is true what difference does it make it is on a public forum besides giving 1PW a fair advance warning of it. If people send you an e-mail it might be in good faith that you won't go and tell everyone but with something like this it could be seen as making a moral judgement that it's for the greater good to post it on here and let people know. Sorry I blame doing ethics for a year. That being said I really don't think this is legit and maybe only part of the story at best.
Actually putting it on here is technically illegal.UK law is preatty specific that if something is intended for your personal eyes that it should not be disclosed to the public. To do so would contradict with confidentiality law. Yes he could of been more specific, and yes he probably shouldn't of gone on a 1pw tangent, but at the end of the day the email is written to those named in the email, and by forwarding it on without express permission is a technical "no no."
I could be way off here but to my understanding that the e-mail must have a disclaimer that states it's for the personal viewing of the person it's sent to. I don't work in wrestling but I do in music and have worked with some pretty big bands and all e-mails from labels, mangement etc have huge ass diclaimers attached to them. For exampleCONFIDENTIALITY AND PRIVILEGE NOTICEThis email is intended only to be read or used by the addressee. It is confidential and may contain legally privileged information. If you are not the intended recipient any use, distribution, disclosure or copying of this email is strictly prohibited. Confidentiality and legal privilege attached to this communication are not waived or lost by reason of mistaken delivery to you. Again it comes down to that magic little word "technically". You see, companies (including my own) put those disclaimers on, because if it ever gets to court it really useful to point to it and the judge will have no choice but to rule in your favour. However, TECHNICALLY posting it on here is illegal because its clearly for the those listed on the email. The real question is would you get away with it in a court of law by saying "well it wasn't clear that I couldn't." In this case I'd say its preatty obvious he couldn't.Example: I work in property. I don't want the guy Im selling this flat too to know how much I really got it for. If I put that information in another email to someone else, he could easily say "it wasn't clear that I couldn't tell the buyer." But if I put that disclaimer in there then really he has no defence.Remember: Law isn't black and white and its full of horrid little gray areas where the word "technical" exists.

  14. The minute I read the guys name as "Iamyourtruth" and the first few lines of the post, the thought "tabloid esque" came to mind. Also reading this didn't shock me... trust me, people have been trying to attempt similar projects before. Good luck to the guy, though I suggest he avoids writing his negative personal opinion on any particular fed since this is unprofessional to say the least. Please note mr. "iamyourtruth" that only the sender has stated any dislike for 1PW. The other promotors are merely innocent bystanders (as far as this letter is concerned anyway).
