  1. Was it all over the news sites? I never seen it coming at all, to be honest. It's one of my favourite surprise moments they've ever done. Up there with him being drafted to Raw in 2005. I know they kept everyone in the dark for that one, they smuggled him into the arena Bischoff-style just as his cue to come out started.

I remember the news sites mostly saying he wouldn't be back to well after the rumble. Could be wrong, but I was surprised.

  2. Just watched that youtube vid. Got to say, HHH really was the king of putting underdogs over wasn't he. Taka, Y2J, Holly, Hurricane, Rikishi, Shelton. All great matches. Granted he won most of them, but anyone who can make you think that Hardcore Holly is going to win the WWE title on Sunday Night Heat is class in my book.

    It's was non title. :p

But yes I wholeheartedly agree with you. I specifically remember that Heat match very friendly.

  3. anybody remember hhh vs hurricane helms on raw, helms goes over to a young fan and puts the mask on a young kid, flair walks over and rips the mask off the kid and then proceeds to stomp away on the mask as the young kid gets upset and the parents go apeshit on flair

    gotta love vintage flair

A plant surely? Because actually having a wrestler physically rip a mask off of a fan is defenitely crossing that line (IMO).

  4. I can imagine wwe wouldn't want logos on their canvas because (a) they are a global product (brands can often be local, or nationally exclusive) (b) cause potential legal issues in the future (though that's fairly minor) and © it dates the product.

Course this is just my theory, I don't claim to be a expert.

  5. Some of the show's plot points rely on small details, and as such it rightly attracts a greater amount of attention/pedantry.

Anyway, to add to the above:

    - He can't go back because there's too much time distortion around New York. He already messed with it a lot by planting the vase for River to establish a link that'd let him through, and if he tried it again, it would fuck shit up bigtime.

    - River explicitly mentioned that her Vortex Manipulator can get to places the Tardis can't - "Like a motorbike through traffic".

    - I seem to remember that it was mentioned that the Angels that got sucked into the crack were just a few of them. Even if not, Rory got sucked into a crack, and everything like that was fixed when the Doctor rebooted the universe, so presumably the Angels just popped back up wherever they were supposed to be as well.

Cheers. A lot of that makes preatty good sense.

  6. Really enjoyed it, but I'm confused on a few points. I think I missed something.

SPOILER - Highlight the black box to read

    - Why can't the doctor go back and find them? is it because it would be like looking for a needle in a haystack? And if so why can't they just leave him a clue like River always seems to do?

    - How was it that river was able to go back and give Amy a manuscript for the book and allow Amy to write the book's afterword? I thought she was gone and unreachable?

    - I thought the Angels were erased from time after they were all sucked into the crack?

SPOILER - Highlight the black box to read

Fixed point in his own timeline. Same reason he can't go back to Rose, or anything else in his timeline. I'm pretty sure it was explained.

River has a vortex manipulator, it's different to the TARDIS, and also probably means that River is a part of Rory and Amy's USA timeline later.

Paradox doesn't always work completely. I imagine they got rid of most of them, but there's still some surviving.

People get far too wound up about minor details some times. Just relax and enjoy the show.

I wouldn't say I get "wound up". I do enjoy the show. However I think it's fair for me to try and understand everything so that I can enjoy it all the more.

  7. Just saw on a few other forums that apparently the intro to the show is consistantly getting darker each week. So much so that this week episode title had white text due to how much darker the intro in the background had become.

Neat little idea. Wonder if its leading to something? Or whether people are just imagining it.

  9. Apparantly, according to Lords Of Pain, Ryback suffered a nsty cut, bad enough his match with Jinder Mahal was cancelled by Doctors Orders, and declared a no contest. Does this now give Ryback a loss XD If anyone can track down an image, please post it, I wanna see how bad it was for a match to be canceled after 2 minutes

    http://www.gophoto.it/view.php?i=http://pw...pg#.UF91rY1lTVs

No. A no contest would effectively mean the match "never happened" or that it was a draw. Though I suppose technically Mahal should of won via ref stoppage.

  10.

Jesse Ventura pretty much destroying Piers Morgan on live TV on his own show a few days ago. I have no idea on American politics but it was a interesting watch.

I think "destroying" is a incredibly generous term, esspecially considering there were times where Morgan owned Ventura too.

I thought they both held their own to be honest. Both men said some eye rolling stuff and also shot out some interesting opinions. I'll admit though, you can't deny how forceful & opinionated (in a good way) Ventura is. It certainly helped that he had a very pro US audience behind him.

The thing that really made me *facepalm* was the way Ventura danced around Morgan's rather well put point about guns; why does any American (particularly a young man with no rural requirement to have such a gun) have the ability to purchase a high calibre weapon and shit loads of ammo, when a simple handgun would suffice for self defense purposes. Ventura directly avoided answering him and instead just gave generic "pro gun" answers about having a gun. A bit dissapointed on that one.

However I admire him for actually stating "I don't have an opinion" in regards to one question. People seem to think that they MUST have a opinion on everything, when actually there is no shame in going "hay... I don't know enougth on this at this point in time, so I refuse to answer."

Recommend everyone watch this, was quite interesting.

  11. Having watched Dredd the other day it got me in the mood to read some 2000AD so I dug out some old Annuals and issues I have had left in a cupboard for years. Good fun it is to. Its at least 18 years since I read any 2000AD and I have to say I probably didn't quite get it aged 12. So I'm thinking whilst I have the Dredd bug I might get this

Judge Dredd Complete Case Files vol.1

What I'm wondering is do these TPBs cover every major arc chronologically from start to finish? I have a free Amazon Prime trial so it will be here tomorrow which is nice.

Weirdly enough I just got the Dredd Complete Case Files Vol 1 from the library. To answer your question, no. Vol 1 is not chronological. It's a collection of special one off story lines and specials collected together for the first time. In otherwords, it dosen't start from the beginning of Judge Dredd and go forward, it jumps all over the place.

Which is a shame because that is what I was hoping for. :(

  12. From Wrestlezone.com

Former WWE star Dave "Batista" Bautista appeared on "MMA Uncensored" last night, and when the topic of returning to WWE came up, Batista said he would be open to returning to the company, but after the PG era comes to an end.

Batista said that he left WWE on good terms and the door is open for him to return, but he furthered that by saying "let's hope the whole PG thing blows over so I can go back and do wrestling the way I like to do wrestling."

Batista went on to say that he would like to work with The Undertaker and Brock Lesnar in WWE.''

Just thought this was abit of a weird thing for Batista to say. It's not like he was having blood-heavy, hardcore matches when he was last in WWE. He was a major fan favourite and was over big time with the kids (obviously until his awesome heal turn).

Doesn't surprise me. Shortly after he left he was whining about how WWE isn't like the Attitude Era. the impression I get is that in his mind the greatest roster of all time would be the Attitude Era roster + him.

    Of course

  13. News sites get their information from the Wrestling Observer and just reword it with "source: wrestlingobserver.com" under it. The only place anyone is getting it from is the Observer site. Wrestling news sites don't have "sources". Its either taken from Meltzer or reworded twitter shite.

Oh I know. Again all I heard was a rumor, I certainly never stated it was fact. I am just a simple man with a dream of Bully Ray taking his fucking awesome gimmick to the WWE and winning the big one.

If you two could just manage to put a hyphen in the right place, your posts would make much more sense. Unless, of course, Bully Ray is giving his notice in.

No fair enough, you're quite right. At least you're not like some posters who call me all the names under the sun because I get "your" and "you're" mixed up when I'm not paying attention.

  14. I'm reading nothing about Bully Ray leaving. And the TV suggests he won't be. Everywhere (including the Observer) is saying Devon is done and Bully is more than certain to resign. Which has been the case for weeks. They see Bully as someone who they want to sign to a real contract and they only want to sign Devon to a pay per appearance deal, because is isn't half as valuable as Bully is. You only need to see their roles on TV to see who is more likely to be staying. They've hardly used Devon in a matches for weeks and Bully is apart of their main storyline.

We've preatty much read the same story but from different sites who have reported it differently. I.e. whereas yours have said "bully ray is likely to resign" mine simply says "bully ray has not resigned yet and may leave."

Read it from tpww.net initially and then from a site I think is called ringsideseats.com

  15. Then why mention anything at all? It really isnt your place to do so at all.

Don't be a fucking dick. RuleOne can say whatever the fuck he wants in this great thread. In fact I encourage it.

Glad someone said that, RuleOne can do no wrong ATM. :)

I am loving this thread, thanks RuleOne.

  16. Scott Snyder's next Batman arc is supposed to be revealed tomorrow on DC's website. The next Issue (11) is the culmination of the Court of Owls story, then there's Issue 12 and 0 which are both standalone titles, followed by Issue 13 which is the start of the next year long story arc, which is supposedly featuring his "favourite villain from the rogue's gallery". Should be interesting to see tomorrow.

They've already announced who sad villain is on ign.com...

Yeah. I did post on that on july 1st saying it's unveiled tomorrow :p

Looking forward to it. Snyder also said he's going to use The Riddler in 2013 too, so that should be good too

    CURSES!

I'm really looking forward to it. In fact when I heard about "said villain's" return, I immediately downloaded the build up story on my ipad. I rarely commit to buy a current series, but might have to with this one. Should be a great run.

  18. I would have sacked her when she turned up a couple of weeks after debuting and announced she was pregnant. She debuted on May 1st and announced she had given birth (which later sadly ended up being a lie) in December. So that would make her around 2 months pregnant when she debuted. So either WWE sent a 2 month pregnant woman out to the ring, or she didn't tell them when they hired her. I'm leaning more towards the latter.

And the lawsuit that would have followed would have been immense, and you'd lose.

I don't know how the US handles these sort of things, but surely if WWE succesfully argued that she got herself hired KNOWING she was pregnant, they would have a very strong case.

Plus they have successfully released pregnant women in the past. See Dawn Marie. I will never understand that one... they finally had the opportunity to have a pregnancy storyline that actually resulted in a baby appearing at the end of it!

  19. The situation with Kia Stevens (Kharma) and WWE seems like it was a mistake somebody made on the web site as she's been removed from the Alumni section and put back in the active wrestler section.

There is likely more to this story than a simple screw up given her response on Twitter about being promoted to the alumni section. There are a number of different versions going around within the company as to her status but nothing is official.

    F4Wonline.com

I wonder whats going on here. I'm not a computer expert, but it takes a big series of oversights and a big coincidence to move a bio from one section to the "sacked" section of the website. Especially if that person is rumoured to be getting the sack soon. The talk on the online street is that they are going to sack her and someone jumped the gun and took her profile off the roster page.

    EDIT:

TMZ's Ryan Satin (the bloke who breaks all the wrestling stories on TMZ) has tweeted this.

‏@ryansatin A source close to @Kharma tells me the rumors are true and she was indeed released from @WWE today. Dumbest WWE release in SOOO LONG!!!

‏@ryansatinI'm standing by my tweet ... I have solid sources when it comes to Kharma

Depends on the backend systems of their website. For all we know, someone accidentally ticked the wrong tick box and hit submit without checking their work. Very easy to do and would only need a inexperienced newcomer (or a tired long term employee for that matter) to make that kind of mistake. Stuff like this happens all the time on... Like when someone accidentally posted on Del Rio's bio "hay I know this guys gonna be pushed big soon, but do you think we're over hyping him?"

  20. ]

Yeah, spoiler tags probably not really needed for the Apprentice. After all, it's got its own spin off show and a show about why Sugar fired everyone on the show just in case you didn't see each show or its spin off show for the past umpteen weeks.

    Or i player.

I don't see why all the spin off shows or having access to a iplayer has to do with having a show spoilt. Many people might not be able to watch to it on the night of the show and decide to watch it on Iplayer SEVERAL DAYS LATER.

True there is no hard or fast rule regarding non wrestling relating spoilers here... but come on.... it's common courtesy. When I was in the UK I remember many of the newspapers and radio shows NOT saying who the winner was the following day for consideration of those who had not yet seen it.
