Very solid performance from Leon that. I did start to worry it was turning in round 3 with him grabbing the cage, I had no issues with that as he was going down regardless. I seem to recall thinking Leon won the first two rounds, Usman the third and with the point deduction put them even. I remember the forth being close but Leon won the fifth for sure. No issues with the decision from me.
First time I ever recall seeing Usman looking tired - whether cardio or from taking shots I don't know. He definitely didn't look great in the last round, very average looking attempts at takedowns.
Sorry Leon, but the Colby fight is the one to take. Its a bit sad to me that he's even asking for Masvidal to be honest - that whole "three piece" shite happened in 2019. The ship has long sailed on it. It would be more compelling for this fight if Masvidal was ranked higher but he's 11th right now.
Maybe if Masivdal put the BMF title on the line...๐

I wouldn't be shocked if Usman basically goes for one takedown a round and plays it very safe to coast to a dull decision victory in this one. I don't really feel like Usman _has_ been a boring fighter like many label him as, but I do see a very safe strategy today.

Great night of fights, first time in ages I watched literally every fight from early prelims to main. I thought Volk was impressive, but I had Islam taking 3 of the rounds going into the 5th and didn't feel like Volk was going to be able to finish him. One of those fights that felt very much like if it was 10 round then Volk would've won. In retrospect I think if Volk had been a bit more aggressive in the rounds one and two he may have pulled this off, felt like he was (rightly) giving a lot of respect.

Haven't watched the vid so maybe they mention it...but I wish it wasn't always so much talk about how they look, yeah they've sucked all the water out their body, and more about what that is doing to their brain and organs.

I'm a huge fan of Big Volk, so this actually captures my interest which is a first in a while. I think Volk is well placed to handle Islam's wrestling, especially as he has been working with Craig Jones who has a "just stand up" style of anti-wrestling jiu-jitsu.

Years old at this point but I just discovered Jamie Oliver's ramen:
Yeah I guess in 2018 ramen wasn't as prolific as it is now...but this is shockingly bad. Roasts the bones, short boil on the bones, doesn't marinate the pork belly, kimchi, undercooked egg, uses soba noodles instead of ramen, and a fucking lime wedge on the side.
