Facebook sponsored adverts need to be banned under the Geneva Convention. Who the heck has decided that this is a good idea? Well, the bookers at Romiley Forum, obviously.

I've been stuck abroad so long and not been home for Christmas that I would relish the opportunity to attend a crap panto. EDIT I Didn't actually look properly...this can fuck right off

  2. The reverse battle royal needs some early days guys like cheekz (if alive) Bruce, The dicks etc has to be really tongue in cheek as I think I said before. Things like this excite me more than anything in wrestling these days.

Lthe queen of the mountain is kind of nostalgia based I guess too.

TNA/impact might have had plenty of crap but honestly most of us watched it and I'm sure many would enjoy a bit of nostalgia over it.

  3. Surely things like this are just leaning into the crap from the past for nostalgias sake. I'm all for on a PPV like the 20th anniversary them embracing some of the rubbish from the past in a tongue-in -cheek kind of way

  4. It's easy to forget just how young Paige was during her run. Perhaps it gets forgotten because she started so young but she was still relatively new to the business especially in terms of the big league TV/arena type performances.  As people have said she missed out on actually having a good roster to work with as she was promoted ahead of Charlotte, Becky, Sasha and Bailey  getting their shit together in NXT and was out injured/ retired by the time more experienced women were about to work with. Given a different hand of cards I'd loved to have seen how she would have developed over the last few years in WWE. Perhaps we'll get to see it somewhere else now.

Big Daddy Bitch would probably book himself as world champion within a month

I'd love that, take it off Punk too. In the storylines Nash gets that match after a coked up text from Tony, then we have a proper summer of Punk.

  6. With a kid and full time job it's AEW every few weeks when I feel like it and the odd stint of watching something on the network (reminds me I need to cancel this stint).

Not having any time means very few long matches draw me in. I'm still a sucker for a good storyline but honestly I'd rather watch meaty men squash jobbers for 30 minutes than 2 or 3 hours of 10 plus minute equality fest's with false finishes.

  7. If MJF really really wants to go to the point he won't work (which I doubt) then I would let him go. It's pointless having him around if he is going to half arse it and it's not like him moving to WWE would actually help them much or hurt AEW massively.

For fans him attacking Cody on his return from injury would be fantastic though if they played off that

Is there a reason people seem to be writing off the idea of Tanahashi winning the belt if Punk's only going to be out for a relatively short time?  It would be pretty easy to have Tanahashi win the belt and then lose the match to Punk when he's back, given I was assuming he'd have been losing to Punk at Forbidden Door anyway.  That's coming from someone with zero knowledge of New Japan or Tanahashi though, so could be there are good reasons why that wouldn't work?  It just feels like the cleanest option if you're just looking for someone to be a placeholder for a few months, if that's really all Punk's expected to be out.

That's actually my prediction or one of them right now, depends how long Punk is out. Seems to be less suspected by many and Tony is right on the marching powder enough right now for it to happen.

If Punk is back in 2 or 3 months then having Tanahashi lose to punk later seems a decent enough option.

It's a shame we just sat through that wank Owen Hart mess as a tournament split between New Japan and AEW leading to forbidden door would have been intriguing, have the semis and finals where they mix up the rosters on the ppv/leading to it.

Or perhaps go mental and have Hangman take the IWGP title off Okada while Tanahashi is the interim AEW champ and then make them "swap". The reactions online alone would be worth how damaging it would be .

This will be the first AEW PPV since it's inception at All In 2018 that I'm not particularly excited to watch. The build has been poor, with a good handful of matches ones I don't want to watch. The threat of a 13 match card also getting stretched even further might even stop me staying up for it too.

Wardlow vs MJF should be cracking and I'm really hoping it's the start of big things for Wardlow. Punk vs Hangman hasn't been entirely awful build-wise but certainly not up to the standards you would expect from AEW or for Punk having a title shot.

Jade Cargill vs Anna Jay should be ok, if a little pointless, and Anarchy in the Arena has a lot of potential based on previous tag brawls they've done. Why Hookhausen vs Nese and Sterling is on the pre-show is beyond me but it could be a laugh. The rest of the card though, fucking hell.

Kyle O'Reilly vs Darby getting shot on to an already 12 match card is a joke. The absolute plummet Darby's stock has done the last few months is astounding. I think being branded as "the next Jeff Hardy" all this time and then seeing the absolute state of Jeff Hardy now has made people second guess if it's a good idea. Kyle O'Reilly shouldn't have even been hired.

The House of Black vs Death Triangle has been going on forever and has very rarely been interesting. The most interesting thing has been HoB and Julia Hart which now seems to just be over? Death Triangle need to split up real soon because as singles stars the three of them could really be going places but together they're stagnant.

American Top Team and everyone involved in this match can get lost. Awful from start to finish, you really worry this might be the very first big crack in Tony Khan booking that will unravel from here.

The Hardys vs The Bucks has some potential purely for the fact The Bucks might be able to to drag something out of them, but wow The Hardys need to go. Matt was doing bad enough on his own but somehow with Jeff and their proper music they've got worse. I really hope they didn't sign Jeff to a long term deal, he's beat.

Jurassic Express vs Team Taz vs Keith Lee and Swerve could have some decent spots but I'd prefer it was JE vs Team Taz. That big fat plancha poor Powerhouse had to take off Keith Lee was awful. Swerve could go places alone but the shine is well and truly off Keith at this point. Wardlow, Hobbs and Luchasaurus are more interesting big guys, and he doesn't have the speed anymore.

Britt Baker vs Ruby Soho is going to be a wreck because neither of them are any good and Ruby certainly doesn't have the talent or star power to carry DMD to anything special.

Samoa Joe vs Adam Cole could be good quality wise but I'd be happy if I never saw Adam Cole again in my life. He's a catchphrase with two of the worst finishers in the company.

Thunder Rosa vs Serena Deeb could be OK but poor Thunder Rosa has been a dreadful champion and Serena Deeb has promo'd herself onto the shitlist since the Shida feud. Not even bothering to learn a single sports team and instead saying "all of your sports teams" is a type of lazy you just can't write.

Tony Khan at this point must only be hording talent for the big TV talks coming up and then after he can do what he;s done with the people he's fired so far and just slyly and arrogantly bin them off without any explanation and then ghost them.

Nothing to do with your writing but even trying to read through all the matches mentioned burned me out so I stand no chance of getting through the ppv in less than 2 sittings.

  10. Not a chance this will get moved unless there's a really big issue. They'll keep it in the arena for 30,000 and above I expect although I honestly think it will sell out.

I know a lot of people are not in driving range of Cardiff but a lot of places are not actually that far. If I was living in London and planned to go I would probably save money and drive there and back along the M4 rather than shell out for a hotel as well. Even if I was in Bournemouth that would likely be my plan of attack.

Me neither.   They didn't do any PPVs at all in Las Vegas between 2008 and 2016.

You are thinking of the Thomas & Mack Center though, I assume.

I was thinking of the pipe bomb promo as Punk mentioned it this week on Dynamite. I got my wires a bit crossed but knew there was a Vegas show right around that time as I had been there about a week and a half before so was a little sore about mistiming my trip.

  12. Popping into a pub, restaurant, coffeeshop, shop etc to use the loonamdnthem not buying anything especially of you're in need of a shit.

Many a premesis in the Bournemouth / Christchurch area have been victims of this crime by yours truly.

Some feel less like a crime though like supermarkets followed by department stores then chain places down to privately run establishments.

On that date, anything less than Guy Fawkes will be a disappointment

Damn I was hoping we'd get 'punch up at the parliament' as an extra UK PPV this year on that date.

Can't agree with this at all. The best thing about AEW is the look and feel of the shows which are akin to Nitro etc, they even raised the lighting on fan request the other week to highlight more of the crowd. Other than the entrance being two tunnels, I definitely don't get a WWE / TNA knockoff vibe from it.

I could take or leave the ramp to the ring, but I wouldn't say I'm clambering for them to take it away.

I guess this is each to their own but it all feels somewhat outdated to me. Even if black is the accent color changing that where appropriate to something else would show a change for me. It might be from my recent 80's/90's WWF binge but I'd love something minimalistic coming out the corner of the arena. I reckon modern LED tech could be used to make something pretty snazzy, perhaps with an original Nitro entrance vibe....but less black.

  15. Firstly stop writing the show to appeal to men in their 30s or older who miss the attitude era and early ROH. Start writing for a demographic you want to attract that will increase viewership.

Change the look more, less black like it's (see above). It's all over the place with the apron, ropes, barriers. Change the stage from the giant WWE/TNA love child.

Get regular ROH shows running even if it starts from the Dark arena. Slice a nice chunk of people from your roster who are not being used/need a break/are rotten people and stick them down there building to IPPVs. That reduces the roster down.

Get back to building up the original talent, they are doing a better job that TNA ever did but I feel things in 2022 are on the ex-WWE line.

Make more matches on TV 5-10 minutes, nobody has the time or attention span for 15-20 minute classics each week.

Get someone in to sort the women's division out.

Turn Punk heel and stick the belt on him.

Stick Cole, O'reiley and Fish in a box addressed to Hunter's new bachelor pad and tell him to stop dumping his shit round your place.
