I'm a little uncomfortable with raking people over the coals for making dumb jokes on Twitter when Twitter was still just some small social media startup.

By all means, if somebody has said something really crossing a line - even when the context of whatever time period it was said in is taken into account  - hold them accountable but the "it's not rape if you yell surprise" 'joke' is old as shit and not particularly offensive since it is clearly meant as a joke, not a set of instructions.

It might not be a funny or original joke, but it's still a joke and I'm not brimming with enthusiasm for the idea that jokes that are clearly jokes, poor taste or no, should be policed years after the fact.

You're just worried that if your stand up or journalism takes off, people might find your BNP supporting posts from all those years back, aren't you ;)

What are the chances that Lorenzzo and Uncle Frank swoop back in down the line, save the world and buy back the UFC for less than they sold it for?

Have either spoken about the UFC since selling up?

Ha! It'll be like when Mr Burns sold the power plant to the Germans.

So, I've finally reached the age where a doctor is going to have to look and probably feel up my anus.

Keep repeating to yourself "(Not gay, not gay)" and it'll. help you through.

or do an ironic bit about how a foreign doctor with their hand fucking your diseased British arse is the perfect metaphor for post Brexit Britain for your set.

Well, there's Okinawa, which is gorgeous, but it's a fair way from the Japanese mainland. And whilst it's much nearer the Equator, not sure what the weather's like in January.

Reading some Trip Advisor reviews, Mr J Hunt of Westminster recommends Hainan Island as Japans best tropical beach type location.

I know there is a lot of love for the recent MI movies, but I know lots of people cannot stand HIM. For example, I made my wife watch Edge of Tomorrow and even though she enjoyed the film she moaned about him being in it and refuses to watch stuff with him in.

Yet loves John Travolta so go figure

Right, and I know people who are the same, but that's Tom Cruise the person. Sure, many people don't like him but it isn't unpopular to say he is a fine action actor.  I'd say if it wasn't for the Scientology, he'd be loved and would be nominated in D-Mal's thread.

  6. I remember Mike and I saying before how Gervais never experienced the circuit, his stand up shows started when he was already popular, so he has always had an audience who loved him.  He hasn't been booed offstage or heckled or anything like that so he hasn't developed the chops other comedians have.  For an example of him thinking on his feet, look at his dazzling performance at Wembley when he had to fill in between bands.

I saw a clip of a show where he basically invented online trolls so he could call his critics nerds.  For someone whose whole schtick is to offend, he really has a thin skin and I think because of his lack of a less than idolising audience in his career, his skin hasn't had to harden.

  7. I'm an MLB TV subscriber and sacked off BT Sports a while back as Baseball was the thing I watched most. I do miss NBA and UFC so will wait for more info on this. As Mike said, the convenience of skipping through the waffle and the ads at my leisure was great so hopefully there will be an option watch the following day and do the same.

Not having that about uncharted. Going back and playing the first game the mechanics are very much of their time but the story gets you through it. After that the games are ace, the last one was a fantastic game.

He thought Ratatouille was a masterpiece so what does he know?

  9. Oh I totally agree, he is the Christ to Watermans John The Baptist, if you will.  I also think there is more honesty in Cowell than in a lot of musicians, he is a wolf in wolfs clothing.  I'd say money is the perfect way to keep score as that's what his output is about, he makes a commodity, not art.
