  1. Yep. WCW actually had someone who the fans were invested in and couldā€™ve been somewhat of a star (maybe not main event level but possibly upper mid card). That April 2000 reboot Nitro had Vampiro going to the ring at the start of the show and the crowd cheered loudly when he showed up. Turning Vampiro heel and forming a stable with the Insane Clown Posse pretty much killed his career in the States. Probably Russoā€™s idea.

Love this one. No doubt itā€™s a complete rip off of some other song but i love it.Ā

This theme was from when Vampiro was being pushed as a face in late ā€˜99 to early 2000 when Kevin Sullivan was Head Booker. Probably about the only time I recall Vampiro being over and used properly in the United States.

Not to question this, because it's right, but with benoit he did what he did with a brain like packet of smash by all accounts, where someone like Snuka can't have such an excuse made.Ā

Now again, benoit was always a mental case by all accounts but it's perhaps not so clear cut, which is tragic really.Ā

I see what youā€™re saying regarding Benoitā€™s brain damage but he was still liable (or at least wouldā€™ve been had he not killed himself too).

  4. Tony Khan shouldā€™ve said nothing. There are a lot of things that should be dealt with behind closed doors and this was one of them. Heā€™s the boss and the head Booker and his decisions over whether wrestlers are kept under contract or not donā€™t need explaining by him to the fans. Hopefully heā€™ll learn.

  5. From what I can gather, Ric Flair spent more money than he earned and most likely still needs the money while heā€™s seemingly cancelled from the major promotions. Wouldnā€™t be surprised if the whole Becky Lynch/Charlotte Flair thing is a work though. From the belt dropping incident, the heated exchange backstage and Ricā€™s comments about Becky. All when ā€œtwo people who legit hate each other have a match at Survivor Seriesā€. All seems a bit too coincidental. Like WWE are trying to re-enact a womenā€™s version of Bret v Shawn.

  6. Pretty sure we were a week behind the States with WWF at the time and a lot of the programmes were being edited (especially the ones shown during the day - crowd shots when chair shots happened etc..). Guessing we were only a week behind due to the coverage being cheaper though. Iā€™m almost certain the part with the gun wasnā€™t shown on Sky.

Think guns have been a sensitive subject on British TV for a long time (especially since the Dunblane Massacre which happened just a few months before that episode of Raw aired). I recall ITV pulling a James Bond film from their schedule in the week of the massacre. Think there was also an episode of the Simpsons where Homer bought a gun that Sky never showed (but was released on VHS, DVD and shown on BBC Two years later).

  7. The segment didnā€™t air in full in the UK even during the late showing of Raw. Although I did manage to see it years later. The segment was terrible. A blatant attempt to increase ratings during a time when WCW were ahead in the Monday Night War. The segment generally wasnā€™t looked at positively at the time. Guns have no place in wrestling. Wonder if it was Bruceā€™s idea.

Genuine question - how do you think Karrion Kross could have been used, ā€œproperly,ā€ in order to make him succeed on the main roster?

Start by not making him wear a skirt, allow Scarlett to accompany him, give him his proper entrance that he used in NXT and not wear that gimp mask. And maybe not jobbing him in his first main roster match on Raw. Just a few thoughts.

Thatā€™s the whole point of being a promoter. Heā€™s the most successful promoter of all time, I think itā€™s safe to say he knows exactly what heā€™s doing and wonā€™t heed the advice being put forward in this thread.Ā

I realise that. Meanwhile, new stars canā€™t break through to main event level, viewers continue to switch off and attendances continue to drop. The big money deals have given WWE an excuse to continue to churn out a very poor product and get away with it. Itā€™s like theyā€™re not even trying anymore.
