  1. Yeah very fun show, and the Melo turn, while hugely telegraphed over the last few weeks, was well executed. The temptation will be there to do the match between Melo and Trick on the Roadblock special in 4 weeks but I think it’s better kept for Stand and Deliver and have it as Melo’s blowoff before going to the main roster properly after Mania

Not been here a while, as proven by my absence in the dolt of the year category.

Tony Khan is not a twat.......there, I said it. He's the saviour.

Well that’s wrapped up the 2024 Dolt of the Year

  3. Genuinely surprised that Jordynne Grace was an entrant in the women’s match and loved that she got a decent run (just under 20 minutes) and the collar and elbow punch up with Naomi coming off the back of their two KO title matches over the past two weeks

I wish that they’d replaced someone from the men’s match with Moose or Chris Sabin so TNA could be repped in both matches but beggars can’t be choosers

R Truth needs to be protected at all cost, if you haven’t seen it, watch his bit with Rosenberg on the pre show in a batting cage. Think Valhalla will set Ivar on him on Raw for what happened in the women’s match and him going for a hot tag in the men’s completely had the crowd eating out his hand

  4. Based on a tip in another thread, I’ve gotten into watching MLW’s Battle Riot shows this week as an alternative to watching past Rumbles. It’s been a fun experience seeing names I’m not familiar with as well as current names, such as Swerve Strickland, Jake Hagar, Davey Boy Jr, Lexis King (Pillman Jr), Penta and Fenix

The running gag entrant across the 3 I’ve seen so far is the Blue Meanie who gets a good pop in each, Savio Vega appears twice in the 2021 match, as himself then later donning his WWF gimmick Kwang. MJF is across the first two shows, winning the inaugural Middleweight title against a then popular Joey Ryan before being in an opening show angle the following year with Teddy Hart backed up by his Dynasty teammates Richard Holliday and Alex Hammerstone

The commentary teams change across the shows as well, first one is Big Tone with Matt Striker, second was done by former NXT commentator Rich Boccini with Jim Cornette then the 3rd was Boccini with someone else who’s name I didn’t catch

  5. Finally got round to watching the first episode, I loved it all from having the original theme to Queen playing out for Duel and Hang Tough complete with the crowd doing the hand motions to the Glads going from acting tough to doing soft spoken interviews praising the contenders. Guy Mowbray did a decent job as commentator but was no John Sachs same with Clattenburg in the John Anderson role and the Walsh’s will take getting used to but it’s a good start

  6. Mark Hammill, Harrison Ford, James Earl Jones and Anthony Daniels would crush me being a huge Star Wars fan

Same with the core 4 The Simpsons voice cast, the show ultimately dies the minute one of them do

Really loved that ending with Roman celebrating completely unaware of the consequences of his actions while the viewer was. A proper “take that you bastard” moment for the fan watching at home.

Reminded me of that Christmas Raw in 97 where DX twisted Slaughter’s plan to cause tension with them by pulling a fake to get the Euro title on Triple H only for Sarge to book H against Owen Hart the following week while DX were goofing in the ring

Justice League Dark (first watch) - despite the appearance of Deadman, who I love, this was pretty bad. 2/5

Yeah the JLD films aren’t the greatest, the only positive is Matt Ryan voicing Constantine which effectively kept him as the definitive actor in the role after the live action series got cancelled, this in turn led him to return to the role for cameos in Arrow and The Flash and a main cast spot in seasons 5&6 of Legends of Tomorrow as well as a stand alone Constantine animated movie

  9. 2023

Positives - got asked to be godfather to my youngest niece, meaning I’m now godparent to both my sister’s girls

    - the first half of my family holiday, making memories with all my nieces and nephews

    - returning to work two weeks before Christmas after what happened below

Negative - the latter half of the holiday and subsequent 4 months being laid up after snapping my patella tendon and part tearing my thigh in a complete freak accident

    To Come in 2024

My youngest nephew gets christened in 2 weeks

Returning to going to conventions with FTLOW 4 in March and Liverpool Comic Con in May

Hitting 10 years in my retail job, the longest job I’ve held down, in June

  10. It’s almost too obvious to be Adam Cole and too dumb to be Wardlow, given the latter is already doing his own video threats. It’s going to be someone that makes zero sense like Jack Perry or one of the released WWE guys

This isn’t true. Doc n Karl are one of my favourite “few frills” tag teams of the last ten years. I say few frills because Karl has personality when he lets his inner joker come out a bit, it just hasn’t happened in WWE.

So long as he doesn’t bring Sour Boy back, he’s the worst

  12. Hayley Williams from Paramore, been a fan of the band since the get go and her vocals are entrancing, particularly on their slower songs like My Heart, The Only Exception and Hate To See Your Heart Break

On similar lines, Amy Lee from Evanescence, particularly on the haunting My Immortal

I don't hate it. Has anyone watched the full film?

Watched this over the weekend, wonderfully delightful and Luke Wilson does a decent job voicing Bats. The only thing i didn’t like was how decrepit they designed Alfred, probably the oldest the character has looked in live action or animated form since Michael Gough in Batman and Robin

  14. Violent Night - got this on Prime Video as Amazon had sent me a £5 credit for any buy or rental. What an utterly fun ride, David Harbour plays a heavy drinking Santa who gets caught up in the midst of a heist on a rich family led by John Leguizamo and saves them in very brutal fashion after hearing the plea of the young daughter of the son of the family.

Santa’s Slay - the infamous slasher film starring Goldberg as the titular Santa, the kills are utterly hilarious at times and the story itself is hot or miss but Ol’ Bill comes off great in it (I think this may have been filmed around the time of his botched heel run in WCW)

  15. In a weird coincidence I was watching 99 on E4 this morning before work when I saw the news pop up on Facebook, a split second before a scene came on involving Holt.

I can’t say I was a massive fan of the show but I did enjoy it anytime I came across is and the Holt character was a big part of that for how deadpan funny his dialogue was

  16. @Frankie Crisp might know this place but I had a cracking fry up from a place in the city centre called Bramleys on Friday. I had some paperwork to drop off at my job, as I got cleared to return to work after my knee injury this week, and my mum needed to get some Christmas bits so we popped there for breakfast

I went for their Big One breakfast which was 2 thick meaty sausages, two slices of bacon, 2 crispy hash browns, mushrooms, black pudding, a fried egg, tomato (which I gave mum for hers), a pot of beans, the odd choice of a pot of thick cut chips and 2 rounds of toast for £12. It eclipsed any fry up I’ve had, including homemade ones, big enough to fill you for the day but not to leave you bloated

Biggest news coming out of this show is that it's going to be BCC vs FTR & Mark Briscoe at the PPV. Banger!

And the 3 that matter from the BCC at that in Mox, Danielson and Claudio leaving bastard child Yuta to probably defend the Pure title

  18. Shocking decision as there are people who like physical media, especially for events they personally attended and may not wish to fork out ÂŁ120 a year for WWE Network

I still pick up the occasional collection or event if I can find it cheap, even though I have a subscription, so it’s a sad day that by the end of next year there won’t be any wrestling media on shelves in places like HMV and Asda or available to purchase online
