  1. Fucking loved Sheiky baby, criminally wasted in his early 90s run as Sarge’s sidekick during his heel run but was brilliant as the co manager for Rikishi when he was doing the Sultan gimmick in 96/97 and made a still raw Rock look a million bucks by selling his punches and body slam at Mania 13

Out of all the tributes coming over the next few days, I’m hoping Maffew does a special Botchamania as Sheiky’s sound bites were a key part of the outro for the videos for years

If you’re happy to settle for DVD rather than BluRay, CEX have this available online for £40. 17 discs with everything from Nausicaä to From Up on Poppy Hill (except for Only Yesterday and Ocean Waves which weren’t available at the time it was released)

    https://uk.webuy.com/product-detail?id=9555329226095&categoryName=dvd-anime&superCatName=film-tv&title=studio-ghibli-movie-collection

Amazon has this 10 disc BluRay set of just the Miyazaki films (upto and including The Wind Rises), but it’ll set you back nearly £140 and looks like it might be in Japanese and German only

    https://amzn.eu/d/dDkR6t2

Found that 17 disc set for cheaper on EBay, little over £12

Doesn't this mean the longest tenure in the top flight continues? Or is it second longest after Arsenal or something? They didn't half leave it until late, and then to have to play 10 minutes of stoppage time.

When are club owners going to realise that Big Sam needs a transfer window to ensure survival so he can bring in all his usual moneyball players on loan? Maybe if Rebekah Elmologou or whatever his name is leaves Celtic for the Tottenham job he can head up there and take the Champions League by storm.

Second longest I think, next season will be our 70th in the top flight

Was absolute torture yesterday, was trying to keep calm even when pressed by the reds in the family then from 3.30 on my hands were getting shakier, I breathed a bit easier when Kane scored right up until Leicester scored just before I left the party venue and had to deal with my uncles singing and dancing to taunt me

Got back home about 10 mins before Doucs scored, my mum and step aunt shouted me in from the kitchen as I was putting my wallet and key in my jacket for work tomorrow, instantly bounced around the room and kissed the badge on my phone

The added time just added to my nerves and once over I let out a loud ‘thank fuck for that’. Had I been at Goodison I’d more than likely have been in floods

    I'm over at Goodison tomorrow.

The missus and wee lass (who's also a staunch blue, may the good Lord have mercy on her) are coming over with me for their first game.

I told them to expect numerous sides of me, that only that bastard club can bring out in me.

    I'm going to get sick.

I’m with you in spirit Branquey, as well as everyone else at the Grand Old Lady, I’ll be at my niece’s christening, where I’m godfather, surrounded by reds on both sides of my family with only my uncle on dad’s side and a cousin’s husband from that same side as support

Already taken stick off my south west based uncle and cousin from mum’s side all evening so bracing for worse tomorrow

Should have happened at Revolution. Completely off the boil with Dustin & The Embassy now involved after Parker B & Trench were discarded.

A similar thing is happening with Starks and White. Looked like it was shaping up for a PPV match. Now Starks is in the Blackjack Battle Royale. So it's either an complete reset or they will drag the fued past DoN.

    So are White and Juice

  6. Watching the Cody/Brock segments I had the thought, from a kayfabe perspective, is Cody nuts? This isn’t wrestling Seth with a torn pec, it’s Brock freaking Lesnar, who not only smashed your arm with a bin at full tilt but then ‘broke’ it with a Kimura lock, something he’s done to the likes of HBK, Trips and others

  7. That Austin one, as much as I love it, frustrates me equally, like how did Vince look at that, listen to the reaction and still think of having Stone Cold turn on the company at the PPV instead of say Angle or Jericho? Having one of them turning, citing being held back by the likes of Austin, Taker, Rock etc would have made much more sense and gave the Alliance more purpose than Austin’s lackey squad

What was the beef between Punk and Alvarez with regards to Maria? Was Alvarez punching higher than anyone has ever punched before?

Think the jist of it was Alvarez had a major thing for Maria with or without acting on it then got major sulky when he found out Punk was dating her

If we're heading up the women's division with someone deserving then it's gotta be Emi as the violent queen and sign Mei full time just because.. 😍

Oh, I stopped watching the YouTube shows so that gif is the first I’ve seen of Mei, I think Hikaru Shida and Iyo Sky have some competition for my Joshi affections, she’s stunning 😍

This is another match where I can watch the whole thing again and again, but those last few minutes are just amazing.

One of HBK’s cleanest superkicks, he hit an equally sweet one on Mysterio a couple of years later as well

  11. I’ve probably said it somewhere before but it still rings a bit true, Tony Schiavone being back commentating on a mainstream wrestling show is the absolute best, his enthusiasm just shines through every week and year since AEW began, especially given his last 18 months in WCW where his commentary gradually got more phoned in and forced and that weird one off appearance in early TNA where he bizarrely heeled on Mike Tenay

If AEW hadn’t came around, I’d have liked to have seen Triple H try and bring him in to do NXT in the short window between Tom Phillips going to the main shows and Mauro Ranallo coming back

  12. This from I think CZW gets an airing now and again

As much a wrong un both are, this is still a brilliant segment between Naitch and Jay Lethal

Another Flair moment, a match against Mitch of the Spirit Squad and he gets some help from some old rivals and friends, the pop when the Horseman theme hits for Arn gets me every time

And of course we can’t forget the single greatest, most quotable math equation in history

  13. Been working my way through the WCW Spring Stampede PPVs on the Network the past few nights

1994 - this is in the midst of the period that WCW has two World titles running at the same time, the actual World title main events with Naitch defending against Steamboat which ends in a double pin, the other is for the Big Gold, then known as the International title between Sting and Rude which has a messy finish involving Vader and Harley Race

1997 - this has the infamous Booker T promo where he calls Hulk the N word (dubbed over with the word Sucka on the Network), Big Kev defending the tag titles solo against Rick Steiner because of a Hall no show and the belting main event between Savage and DDP

1998 - the overlying storyline of this show is the tension within the NWO, namely between Kev and Hulk, that would eventually lead to the creation of the Wolfpac later on. The two team up in a Bat on a Pole match against Piper and Giant but Hogan accidentally hits Kev during the match causing more tension. Savage and Sting main event for Big Gold with the former winning to firmly end the latter’s botched title run, thanks to Kev

1999 - main event here is frankly a waste of Savage as he’s the guest ref for what starts as a 4 way with Flair defending (while also being the boss) against DDP, Hogan and Sting ends in a triple threat as Hollywood gets injured, DDP wins his second title here

2000 - currently watching this, this is at the beginning of the New Blood/Millionaire’s Club feud that ran throughout the bulk of the year so the Big Gold, Tag and US belts are vacant. I don’t know if it’s just dubbing or me misremembering but it’s amusing seeing Scott Steiner coming out to ‘Steinerised’ instead of his sirens as Big Poppa Pump, there’s definite dubbing for Sting’s entrances with his original Crow theme as he was using ‘Seek and Destroy’ at this point

Hindsight is wonderful but WCW’s take on the Hardcore division, down to having a clean and sparkly belt, was piss poor compared to the sheer fun of the 24/7 stuff in WWE. Flair wrestling both matches in the tag tournament dressed like he’s going on a golfing weekend because he took Russo’s rules on lax refereeing too literal is hilarious as is Racist Terry dressed as a street thug and botching putting Kidman through the announce table

  14. I’ve found the more I watch the show, the less I like some of Jim’s pranks on Dwight, one in particular was the one where Jim loudly gives a card number out which Dwight used to buy Pam flowers from Jim, like how’s that a prank?

He’s a bit of a cunt to Ryan as well when he’s temp co manager by sticking him in a box room away from everyone because he’d been a bit too cocky in his other job a season or two earlier when he rocked up at Dunder Miflin

I think they hinted at it at the end when they were disagreeing about someone coming back. I’m guessing they’ll tease this for an upcoming PPV now they are on different shows.

The hints weren’t for Theory, they’re for Ciampa as shown by Candace’s hesitation compared to Johnny’s excitement

Austin Theory's inclusion is perturbing me. If he's in there while holding the US Title, it doesn't make sense for Gunther not to be included, yet he isn't even though he hasn't lost in over a year to my knowledge. However Sheamus, who he's beaten a bunch of times, is involved? It's an extra illogical element that didn't need to be there. Seems whatever rumoured issue is going on with Drew McIntyre must still be going on, judging by his exclusion.

Intrigued to see how twelve men go into one tournament also.

It’s 4 triple threat matches, 2 on Raw, two on SD, the winners meet in the main event of each show then the last two face off for the title in Jeddah at Night of Champions

  17. While we’re keeping on the PR subject, the 30th anniversary episode/movie that Netflix released a couple of weeks back was every inch the nostalgia hit from having OG actors and voice actors, to the little nods to the emotional ending. Well worth a view if you’re an old school fan

    Power Rangers The Movie 1995

I saw something Power Rangers related on Netflix and my childhood came flooding back to me, so had to give this a spin again for the first time in over 20 years. I’m saying this with my heart full of nostalgia and wearing my thick rose tinted glasses but this was pretty good fun! A solid 3 Ivan Oozes out of 5.

As a kid we had the VHS of this, Matilda and Drop Dead Fred on heavy rotation. My Dad wasn’t a fan of the other two but didn’t mind Power Rangers. Now I’m his age when we were watching it back then I can see the appeal

    How dare they. Especially Americans.

I mean one of America’s staples is a type of scone smothered with a sausage fat and cream sauce they call ‘gravy’ and they have the gaul to call out the black pudding as weird
