  1. Actor and director Dean Sullivan has died at the age of 68.

Sullivan was best known for his portrayal of Jimmy Corkhill in the Channel 4 soap Brookside between 1986 and 2003.

"To millions he was and very much still is remembered as 'Jimmy', to family and friends he was 'Dino'. Dean's family wants to thank Arrowe Park Hospital for their unwavering and consistent support. We ask that you respect their privacy in their time of grief," a statement from Hamilton Management and his family said.

He died peacefully following a short illness.

  2. I've been in my current role for over 8 years and looking to expand my horizons and try something new.
I've had two interviews so far (no outcome yet) from two different companies and boy - how dull are interviews these days.
Just a set of slightly different worded competency based questions.

The role I am currently in was a chat, find out about me and me them, and we talked about what I'd do in the role and what I saw and challenges and opportunities. Previous interviews have had things like role plays, business cases and a lot more engaging.

So my question is, is that what all corporate interviews are now like? And if so, any tips ?

  3. Why does Samoa Joe have to vacate the the ROH TV title to challenge for the AEW Heavyweight title when MJF has the the ROH Tag team titles on his own and is also the AEW Heavyweight champion?

    Make it make sense.

TKs booking deserves these terrible numbers.

Is it bad that I don't believe he was even in rehab for 30 days? People always make those sorts of excuses to delay/avoid paying debts. Or they say a family member died or was in hospital.

The only proof is his word. And as a proven liar, who is to say what's even true anymore.

He has used "dead family member" at least 3 times and "being ill / in hospital" pretty much every time he's been called out.

Dead family member is basically 1PWs "Then, Now, Forever, Together" at this point .

  5. For those that wondered what Gauntley did with all that money that was just resting in his account, he's posted that he's just completed 30 days in rehab/free from drugs.

With his history, and how stressful all this must be hopefully this was his last foray into promoting anything ever again.

There's throwing the odd bit of shade at the opposition and there's utterly embarrassing yourself in front of the entire world and throwing an e-pissy fit because WWE have got a couple of retirees on. What a berk.

He better hope he wins the ratings war this week.

He has been an utter embarrassment the last 24 hours.

  7. For comparisons to Bischoff.
That was 25 years ago, during a period when WCW was pretty much coming out on top every week. And he was signing most of WWFs biggest stars to big money deals.

And it didn't last. His later attempts to run it back made him look foolish.

It's not a great look for TK at all (and likewise when HHH made similar jibes) especially when he's running empty arenas and Luke warm at best shows.

  8. So tonight TK has decided to argue with WWE stans on Twitter via memes & throwing shade at Vince (I mean, he has a point there).

I never get why promoters do this. Just put on the best shows possible and that's the FU to people, not this. Comes across so petty and minor league.

Why does Gauntley even want to be a promoter? He's shit at it and it's ruined his life. I'd understand if he was trying to go back and relive past successes but he was never a success at it. He lost everything the first time around.

As has been said on here it's all an ego thing. He is a complete narcissist.
    Everything is about him.
When he is proven (time and again) to be a fraud and liar it's "health issues" "nearly dying" "family deaths".

He has always been awful at promoting and has no idea how to turn a profit. Even here he had sell out shows at first with over 1,500 paid and he still lost £17k on one show. Idiot.

I will release EVERYTHING, including a summary of all the money that I invested in this company (including over £17,000 in USD that I took from my own bank and paid directly to performers last October), and a large transfer to my personal account to again cash for USD in February (for which I have WhatsApp screenshots and statements), and I will also summarise what I paid myself back from these vast directors' loans.

Not that I believe for one second that he will "release everything" whatever that means, let's looks at this statement for one moment.

So he is claiming that he paid £17k out of his own pocket to performers last October. Last October was the first 1PW show in this new inception and sold out. So in that regard, Gauntley went £17k over budget and paid out of his own pocket, good! That's what you're meant to do!

Then he says he made a "large transfer for his personal account" back in Feb this year. He doesn't say why, or that he was re invested or anything. Is that Steven basically admitting the embezzlement but trying to justify it by that he went £17k over budget a few shows previously?

He also admits above to taking money "back" from "vast" loans. Clearly these loans were not for him to take money "back" but loans to run events (of which he had several scheduled) and to therefore be paid back.

  11. Gauntley speaks out....

    Statement from Steven Gauntley

Despite what internet speculation may lead you to believe, I have not disappeared, nor have I run off to some sunny destination with a mountain of ill-gotten gains.

If you truly know me, you know that the accusation that I would embezzle and defraud my own company, my life's work, is absolutely ridiculous.

Since June, I have been battling health issues, which, due to the stress and pressure of the last two months, have nearly cost me my life.

When my former business partner left in July, I was given the option to liquidate the company then, but I stayed on and battled forward, to the extreme detriment of my own health, to try to redress the company's creditors and to do the right thing for the fans.

The day my health forced me to quit, the company was in a more positive position than it had been a few months before, despite an obvious smear campaign against me.

Am I saying I didn't make mistakes? No. Am I saying I haven't made poor decisions in desperation? No. Did I defraud, manipulate, and embezzle? Absolutely not!

Less than 48 hours ago, I nearly lost my life, and that is on top of losing dozens of thousands of pounds of my money, my car, and my house. I have genuinely sacrificed everything for this company that I loved.

People who hide behind "be kind" have revelled in gossip, trial by Twitter, and malicious rumours. Talent who disingenuously used to praise me, some going as far as to tell me, "I love you!" have never even dignified me with a conversation.

People who pretended to be my friend and now play for internet pack mentality virtue points heard a rumour and decided I was the devil without even asking me for my perspective.

I brought back this company in honour of my father's memory, and it was my dream and life's work.

Since July, I have been vilified, blamed, betrayed, and had the truth manipulated to suit the narrative that no one else made mistakes and that this company failed because I am evil, and that others are merely innocent, have acted with impunity, and are without reproach.

Because I loathe confrontation, I have deliberately kept my counsel on the matter, but the time has come to let the truth be told.

I am working with professional insolvency specialists to liquidate 1PW LTD, and also with an accountant and solicitor.

When I get the all-clear, I am going to release publicly every bank account statement connected to the company.

The financial history of the company is very complex, and if you look at a snapshot or even just one account without context, and without the bigger picture, and you do so with a preconceived narrative that you want to believe, then you can make me look like a bad person.

You'll also see what anyone else connected to the company previously invested in the company and what they took out of the company.

After being made a scapegoat, having been doxxed and had my address and phone number shared online, and having had several death threats, and having suffered massively with my own health, and having lost the company I loved, I genuinely have nothing to lose now, and I firmly believe the truth shall set me free.

Have I made mistakes? Yes, absolutely... huge mistakes. The biggest mistake I ever made was trusting people who betrayed me.

I want to conclude by offering my sincere apology to the 1PW fans. If I could have continued, I would have. I thought I would have given my life for this company, but in the end, I am sorry, but I could not let that happen.

I feel genuinely awful for any affected customers, but rest assured, I am working with professional advice to ensure that customers are able to obtain refunds.

Today, I have worked with our payment provider, Stripe, to authorise over £6000 of customer refunds.

I will make further statements on this matter in the coming weeks. Thanks for reading.

  12. Read a bit of the 1PW book last night and amazing to see even people he screwed over still quoting his bullshit years later. Despite all having first hand experience of him being a liar.

  13. I had a dealing with him just as he was starting out as a promoter the first time.

We had agreed to talent share - he organised and booked the flights and I'd pay half. Fair dos.

He then offers this talent out to other companies taking a cut and they don't put in for the flight, or additional travel. I'm also told that the talent has insisted on business class travel, yet when I spoke to them at our event they were In economy.

He has always been a chancer and grifter since day one, no idea how or why people keep giving him shot after shot.

  14. Those British wrestlers in particular who took that booking knowing full well that most of their peers hadn't been paid went as far down in my estimation as possible. Idiots.

Good riddance, but then somehow he will find a way back at some point

  15. Anyone could see there was well under 80k there if you compare it to other sold out Wembley events.
That attendance is a brilliant figure, and should be lauded but instead TKs ego and obsession with WWE has made him look an utter tool. Again.

think this is at least the second time Gauntley has tried to bring Butcher over. My memories might be getting mixed up, but there was a deathmatch tournament planned for Sheffield after the 'successful' first PW101 show. I pre-bought tickets, like an absolute idiot, and the show got cancelled. Steven still owes me money for that, but the excuses and avoiding not refunding me were such a headache I gave up.

The amount of people burnt by him over the years it's incredible he's still going and people keep giving him money.

I thought that was a shit episode.

MJF/Joe segment started strong but felt like it went on forever. Joe was great, though.

That Storm promo was proper god I hope no one walks in as I'm watching this material and I've enjoyed her work, recently.

    Another fucking tournament.

Enjoyed Sakura/Stantlander for what it was.

Don't give a shit about the Le Sex God's, drama. At least fucking lose before falling out.

Swerve promo was mostly rubbish. Sounded like a guy who knows he's going nowhere.

    Starks promo was great.

Mox/Fox just didn’t click. Terrible choice for a first defense.

Agree, but then I think Dynamite has been pretty average for a long time now.

    Mox / Fox was dull.
I could call nearly every move in that Darby / Wayne match before it even happened. Should be no where near a main event.
MJF / Joe would have been great in half that time.
Remember when Jericho used to fuck off for a while to make people miss him in WWE. It's been overdue in AEW for about 2 years now. Couldn't give a toss.

And yes on tournaments. No more tournaments. (Have they also stopped doing eliminator matches? Haven't heard that one in a while).

Christians cameo, Don Callis and Roddy Strong were very good though.
