Didn’t he Rob somewhere while wearing his name tag and uniform? Not the brightest.

Yeah he robbed a Wendy's restaurant in his uniform. But thick of him. Jerry Lawler on comms was more than happy to highlight a black man's criminal past after getting race baited by a heel that then beat him clean and decisively at Mania 19. Those were the days.

  2. Lord Steven Ray would have battered them both, brother or not.

I need to look it up, but didn't Teddy Hart give Punk a shooing in TNA or was it the other way round.

Something I always found incredible about Booker was the size of him. Probably to do with that WCW ring being smaller but he moved around the old WCW rings with such speed doing his big kicks he looks constantly ready to clatter into the cables. He's got a Billy Gunn/Jake Roberts/Scott Hall deceptive size thing about him, and his brother was actually bigger (T).

  3. Booker is a bit daft and very 'DM me babez' but I reckon, in an actual ruck, I'm taking Booker. He could lamp Punk had enough that Sammy Guevera would sell it hundreds of miles away.

  4. Completely forgot they gave Barrett a gavel and a scissor lift by the stage too, as if that wasn't going to catch on.

King Barrett. State of that, no wonder he took a break, he must have realised he was fucked for a bit.

  5. Bad News Barrett getting canned because they gave a heel a catchphrase that in his hilarious delivery was going to obviously get over, so he got punished for it is such a classic bit of WWE just completely fucking about. Like they were the only ones who didn't expect it, or he was doing it 'wrong' somehow.

  6. I liked Chuck Palumbo but always felt he was just pretty ok and that was it. He could have got better as a promo but by his biker gimmick he was a decade in the industry and still sounded pretty atrocious when he talked. The Billy & Chuck run was great though, I think they get maligned a bit because 2002 is a rough diamond match year that's generally dross. He best work might actually be his WCW tag stuff.

I like Griff Garrison from AEW because his big hair and skinny legs remind me of Custom Chucky P.

  7. Sid's pose of dropping to one knee doing those "who's da man" hand flicks as that awesome Sid Justice music blares out is always a top sight. Love most of Sid's runs, he was one of those people that it was almost impossible to book as a heel. Well you could book him as one but the crowds were mostly never having it. Bonus points for ECW Sid which is essentially his 1992 heel run smashing people off stretchers and tables but with the ECW add-on of Sid being able to scream swearwords.

Psycho Sid was probably his best run as mentioned. I used to listen to the New Gen Podcast and their utter joy at enjoying how great Sid was in that run was lovely.

This is the worst fucking thing I have ever seen.

Is Taskmaster actually shit? It seems staggeringly popular but I'm not sure if it's just the people I hear like it are staggeringly middle class 'My Dad Wrote a Porno' types

  9. The only good thing about Wrestlemania 2 that isn't seeing an interesting microcosm of one of their biggest eras, is that sweet as fuck saxophone job that also doubled as the Fuji Vice theme.

My 6 year old lad finally showed an interest in watching wrestling so I put two matches on for him. His main reaction to Ospreay and Takeshita was “How!?” and “He’s like a super hero!”. He then talked about how he wants to to be a wrestler and take on the Danger name to pick up entertaining dozens of sports hall dwellers for years to come. Then I put Sting on and he I explained what was happening over the emotional intro video. He then proceeded to ball his eyes out and ask why they are hurting an old man to the point that by the end of the match kayfabe was shattered his mum was fuming with me and he’s not sure he wants to ever watch wrestling again. I’ll try Smackdown tomorrow.

    Great, another tribal fan.

Just comes across as a genuinely enthusiastic announcer, not soured by years of working with people he obviously can't stand or going through the motions to collect a pay cheque.

I think Kevin Kelly being a Qanon loopytube doesn't help him*

*I'm aware worse people are employed to some degree but this is Collision Kelly chat.

OK, Big Olympic Chilli Pete. You say this every time, stop wishing Bam dead!

He was absolutely my third on the list.

I really like Ricobani,  but not enough to learn how to spell his name correctly.

Yeah Ian Riccaboni (?) has a bloody lovely commentary voice. He was well received (Williams gif) during his Collision sub run whilst Kevin Kelly was possibly announcing Wrestle Kingdom.

  14. I enjoyed it purely because I like John Tenta and his work and it was good to see how great his family were and how hard he worked. Yeah, Haku seeing The Shockmaster and absolutely dying at it was brilliant. Tugboat seems like a bloody lovely bloke. I enjoyed the little revisit to the Kitao shoot incident too and how fucking raging Earthquake was in that moment. I think it was Bret Hart quoting his dad once saying 'I'd like to meet the man who can take Earthquake off the street' and he was right. Earthquake was an absolute unit of a man, he's got the build of a bear, why would you try him. Great doc, bring on the misery in the next episodes.

  15. Talking about this cunt again, fair enough. He's an awful prick of a man, nobody should listen to absolutely anything he has to contribute to anything about modern wrestling, no matter how much a chin is stroked about it. Him and Russo are more similar now than they'd ever like to think. Hope they're still pathetically rowing until their far too gone.

And much like you have to point out Morrissey is a shit when you say you like The Smiths, I'm contractually obligated to mention here that Jim Cornette, the long time wrestling fan, talking about some old shit to do with JCP, Mid-South or Ron Wright is usually an absolute joy to behold because of his combination of patter and sheer fandom. But fucking hell he's insufferable in every other way when talks. That gobshite Brian Last can do one as well.

  16. Good ole Wrestle Me. They keep me sane sometimes. One of the only things besides our Millard that I can afford to support on Patreon. The 12 days of Wrestle Me-Mas and the recent run of videos to go with their best bits are so good. I recommend the Tag Team two partner they just put out about Piper and Jesse Ventura's absurdly bad and wonderful TV pilot.

  17. He has a lot, and I think Big Bill is a shining example that you can have it, lose it and come back better than when you had it in the first place. I personally think Adam Cole and his merry men don't really work for me so I'd be up for them fucking it for Wardlow and him absolutely destroying them. He can even back up MJF when he returns for a tag match or something. AEW is lots of moving parts so for Wardlow I see his upside being a guy just under the top level. He's definitely underrated for how decent in matches he actually is.

Should have never cut that hair though, idiots!
