I don’t think it’s suspicious really. Each night was a woman’s title match that she doesn’t belong in. How often do they have random non title women’s matches on shows? If “deserves” is a word to use when talking about mania, then she had a great year last year and does deserve spot. But the way the company works with the women on PPV, I can’t see any space for her.

The women's tag title match is rumoured for Night 2, so considering that there's only 6 matches on Night 1, I'd say there was plenty of space.

  2. If Becky was going to return they wouldn't stick her in a match for the women's tag titles.  If anything they should have Bayley go out to the ring complaining about not having an opponent at WrestleMania so she challenges anyone in the locker room to a match and it's Becky who accepts.

As Supremo said, it's strange why they've kept Bayley off the card.

  3. Was HBK winning at One Night Only done on the fly?  I thought that was always the plan to set up the rematch (that never happened) at Mayhem in Manchester which I believe was originally meant to be another UK PPV.

  4. If the spoilers for Raw next week are anything to go by, there's only 2 more matches that'll be added to the card which will make it 7 matches on each night.  I can only assume the likes of Rollins V Cesaro and Owens V Zayn will probably go almost 30 minutes to pad each night out to around 3 hours. They'll have no Undertaker entrance to waste a good 15 minutes either.

Mr T was someone that the audience knew because there was crossover with viewers and wrestling wasn’t dead and the media somewhat cared. Wrestling fans obviously watched the A Team and Rocky. WWEs current audience is almost 60. They have no idea who he is. So to the current audience, he’s a guy they don’t know doing horrible comedy with two geeks. And wwe can’t create new fans so there’s no hope that would change. Will be interesting to see the reaction at mania. If there’s no sound cheating, I’d guess at either booing or complete silence.

There might be more older viewers that still watch via linear TV, but plenty of younger fans will keep up with the product via other means. They still have a young following as twitter proves.

Meltzer has bleated on for ages trying to make out that it's only sad old fuckers that continue to watch WWE.

  6. They taped the 2020 class last night and will tape the 2021 class on Thursday night. Both classes will stream on Tuesday 6th April.

On a side note, it looked like Davey Smith Jr went as Don Johnson last night

The celebrity wing throws up a few oddities. “Appeared once or twice” and “says yes to the invite” are probably the only requirements. I’d make a joke about “Probably get Pam Anderson in next year” but she’s obviously ruled out by the Chyna rule. Can’t have impressionable kiddies putting her name into Bing, can we?

To be fair, Pam didn't intend to make a legit porno for the wider audience unlike Chyna.

I’m fairly sure that shorter guy is Ryan Ward, one the lead writers of RAW. He’s constantly used in scenes in the back, usually being intimidated, mainly because of his height. Strowman, Hurt Business a few months ago and now Rhea Ripley.

So he's mostly to blame for Raw being so shit

It was originally set to be Quake vs Borga, which begs the question, would they have squashed Borga in a minute after he'd ended Tatanka's mighty unbeaten run?

Puzzles me how that was meant to be Borga, he hadn't even been on TV for months prior. He was also meant to face Tatanka at the Rumble that year. Surely by WrestleMania they knew he wasn't going to return

Earthquake v Adam Bomb definitely wasn’t the worst match on that show, there were plenty that were boring or rubbish. And the point was it reminded people Quake could be absolutely devastating, because he’d soon be on the road with Yokozuna.

Speaking of that, how much of a disappointment was Savage V Crush?  It was a major let down considering it had 5 months of build up. Also turned out to be Randy's last match on PPV with them. Still Mania 10 gave us that cracker between Bret and Owen.
