  1. Me and a colleague used to share a kitkat every day and the whole finger of chocolate happens more than you would think. It got to the point we were hoping there would be a biscuitless finger in our half and when it happened the other one would be seriously pissed off!

4 fingers of nestle chocolate is probably too much for anyone though.

Also the maltesers in Celebrations are without a doubt the best and therefore cannot be overrated

If it's being produced by WWE it's surely going to be fairly similar to the Network documentaries and therefore not particularly close to reality. Which is unfortunate as Vince is such a fascinating mix of contradictions, weirdness, intelligence, empathy and cuntery.

My thoughts exactly.... Vince will wear his jeans in the office like he did earlier in year to show he has been caught of guard. Depending how much fun he has he may ask the filmmakers to puke....... PUKE

  3. Like many have said I have some great memories of spending time with him during 1PW shows/weekends that always make me smile when thinking back on them.

He was a great worker and seemed a really decent person.

I'll never pass through Doncaster without thinking of his friendly greeting to the fans...... How y'all doing ya Doncaster Donkeys?

RIP Tracy, my thoughts are with your family and friends

  4. I didn't notice Alex Reynolds getting knocked out when I watched it live but just went back to watch it to see whether it was as shocking as people on twitter are making out and it really is. The awkward way he just lies there makes it inexcusable that the ref didn't pick up on it and intervene. In fact after the referee has picked up on it after he was conscious and clumsily going through the motions the ref seemed more interested in rolling him out of the way than checking his welfare.

Enjoyed all the first round matches and looking forward to the tournament matches next week. Was really impressed with Wardlow, I was expecting Jungle Boy Jack to get the win and take on Page next week and was looking forward to that but I'm completely sold on Wardlow now and hope he puts in a good showing next week against a bigger opponent that he can't just chuck about as he did with Jungle Boy.

Jericho/MJF wasn't really my cup of tea but seems to have been well received and its one of those things fans will remember for a long time... Looking forward to seeing where they are going with this friendship /feud though. As others have said the build up to the world title match was fantastic, looking forward to seeing that and the PPV in general

I'm watching 92 WCW as well at the moment and generally love it. I'm half way through Clash 19 at the moment which is a bit of a let down to be honest.

I thought it definitely picked up after Clash 19. I'm well into the build for Halloween Havoc 92, which I don't think I have ever seen despite remembering considering to buy it dozens of times back in the day. The fact I've never seen it makes me think it wasn't such a highly rated show but from watching the build up to it I'm really looking forward to it!

Speaking of Saturday Night, is it still just the 92/93 episodes on the Network? Anyone heard of any plans to add the earlier/later stuff? Still no Worldwide either last time I had it.

Yes still just 92 and part of 93....i haven't heard anything but I'm really hoping they add more before I run out

  6. I've been watching WCW Saturday Nights episodically for a while now and find them great background viewing. Always loved WCW in 92 with Superbrawl 2 one of my all time favourite ppvs so nice to see the TV leading upto the ppvs.

Dropped on an absolutely belting tag title match on the October 3rd 1992 episode between Steve Williams/Terry Gordy and Barry Windham/Dustin Rhodes, goes almost 30 mins and is a hidden gem (unless everyone else knew about it) that I would highly recommend to any fans of early 90s WCW tag action

Nick Patrick had my favourite 3-count style of any ref. Bloody loved him I did.

He was awesome, and his style is sorely missing in today's wrestling. Plus the guy could either have a backbone or be a jellyfish at any point which added to the drama

  8. I don't usually watch the women's matches. Don't know whether it's because I'm gay or the way I was brought up but I find no enjoyment in watching women fight each other.

Thought I'd give it a try on the 1 hour version, just because I wanted a full hours entertainment. Boy was I wrong.... That was just bad, sloppy, nonsensical wrestling. Even a paint by numbers match should be better.

I know this is contriversial but maybe AEW should get rid of the division until they are established and can put some proper focus on it.

Saw someone post that they absolutely have to have this division in 2020 but I disagree. If it is constantly the worst part of the show (and I'm going on what I read here as I always FF it) then maybe leave it off until you have the time to make it a highlight of the show.

Big Tony sounds like he loves every second of being back on a westling show.

    This.

Tony's thrill of being there and his genuine enjoyment of watching the action really rubs off on me as a viewer and makes me enjoy it more. I'm so glad he is back in wrestling!

  10. Thoroughly enjoyed it again this week, loved the main event and if the ending didn't make you smile then maybe AEW isn't for you!

Also thought Kenny Omega did a good job on commentary for the Hangman Page match... A good way for him to get his character developed rather than backstage promos which I never feel hit the spot as well as intended.

  11. The decision to allow Hardy to continue was shocking and was obviously down to panicking they didn't get the right finish which was just daft. It also opened up the floodgates to the amount of negative reactions they (quite rightly) got.

I enjoyed the tag title match, the Mimosa match and the main event. Everything else seemed like Dynamite, especially with the lack of a set making it look different. They have put more effort into the set on special episodes of Dynamite.

There was enough to enjoy but it was their weakest PPV to date.

  12. Quite a weak episode this week for me although I think my enjoyment was seriously affected by FITE completely removing all the picture in picture segments meaning most of FTRs match as well as most of the main event was completely missing, and these were the 2 things I was mostly looking forward to.

I too was lost with the lawnmower reference, I still don't think they get how niche the BTE programme is. I really enjoy AEW and watch dynamite weekly but never once have I wanted to watch BTE and weird skits like this that go completely over my head arnt going to change that.

Hopefully things improve again because I called last weeks an almost perfect episode of wrestling TV in 2020 and this was very far from being that.

You can practically see where almost 1,000,000 people turned over to ESPN to watch the Next NBA game instead of sticking with Wrestling

They stuck with NBA, just like I used to turn over from TNT after Nitro to watch the Raw replay every Friday night. Never once was I tempted by a classic movie that TNT aired after Nitro, cos I stuck with wrestling.

The negative awards are the highlight of the year, it’s our Wrestlemania.

This was the reason I named you both, 2 very dismissive posts that to me say, who gives a toss what you are discussing cos we enjoy these awards that we will never be voted for so they will stay.

I think I jumped on my high horse and for that I will apologise. I think the fact I have now to explain my tenure here after saying I joined recently but Butch deeming that 8 months is not recent and the fact that Butch knows..... From my dozen or so posts..... never posted under a previous account. .. That Keith is a much better person than I am shows the cliques that exist here.

I will agree that in my 17 years of reading the forum I have obviously formed opinions and I trust that Butch chose the 18 month time limit carefully to find bullying, knowing he has not committed more than passive aggressive posts as highlighted above in this time.

I really don't have a problem with your annual awards, be them positive, negative or whatever. It wouldn't be something I would read, maybe I'm now in the running cos I don't know what a dolt is. It was the dismisive approach to the topic and the people posting on what I believe is a good forum that made me feel I should voice my opinion.

As you will see I officially joined after lurking all those years because I wanted to chat about AEW, and just to confirm that it took about 3 or 4 months to get approved after registering, which is why I still consider myself new here.

    As you were.

  15. The popular posters pick on the less popular posters in a highly controlled environment. So kind of bullying 101.

I've been reading this forum for last 17 years or so but only just joined as a poster and I'm not interested in the awards posts but have witnessed people get bullied by the 'cool' kids many Many times. And when the 'dolt' tries to make a come back he is constantly reminded of his past failings and treat unfairly.

But if Butch, Keith and the gang enjoy these awards then they will continue. To the point the guy who started this debate got questioned as to whether 'random thoughts' was the best place to post his random thoughts.

    As you were.

    Yes.

So someone we know that is reading from a script in the hypothetical situation I mentioned is still held to account a decade later.

This is what's killing wrestling, and in fairness other entertainment. Does it have to be video proof or can people aka Michael Hayes and Dustin Rhodes just be blackballed on hearsay?

They were the first 2 names that I thought of having done much worse things than a racist promo

  17. I know I'm in the minority of opinions in 2020 but punishing someone for saying the N Word 15 years ago as part of a wrestling promo is definitely snowflake material for me. That was clearly a promo, if vince told ziggler to say it to Kofi next week he would.... He would then apologise on SM. Is he still accountable for this promo a decade later?

  18. Enjoyed it again this week.  Not excited about Cardona signing and thought it was a weak way to introduce him.  Maybe they plan on him turning on cody and then making a 4 horsemen style group out of everyone that's turned on Cody, with MJF as the leader!

I like the way they promote upcoming dynamites too.

The MJF address was the highlight of the night and should make for some great TV leading up to the PPV

  19. Some interesting chat here, love the UKFF for that.

I agree it was a weak show that really shouldn't have been. AEW have all the tools, and I like the fact it all feels a bit different with different people booking different segments but it needs Someone to quality/continuity check the show. Omega getting drenched should not have been on the same show as Jericho getting drenched. The world championship match should have run semi main to give it that unpredictable feeling... When the bell rings 18 minutes before the show ends it kinda kills it. Having the jericho promo after the title match with some kind of aftermath of cage/taz would be better imo... Although maybe not for ratings/demo!

I think Omegas main problem is lack of promo time to flesh out his character. I don't watch BTE and I'm sure it'd make more sense if I did but they have to put at least something on the main show, even just every few weeks to tie up loose ends. Same with Cody, I don't know why he's acting a bit heelish, Arn seems disgruntled about it but who knows if that will continue next week.

Overall though I still enjoyed this week's show more than almost every episode of Raw in the last decade. I love how we all critique it every week and we'll never be completely happy whatever they do... And on a week like this we forget to mention that the tag match, 6 man tag, opener and main event were all pretty decent really
