  1. Khan needs to start booking smaller venues and then go big for the PPVs. AEW with a rabid audience is always the best. He needs to do it quickly.

I think AEW is slightly coasting at the moment on good shows, probably given that it's WRESTLEMANIA season as well. I think the weeks building into DYNASTY could be tasty.

I want Swerve with the belt, but Joe is so good.

  2. The Rock V Cody now seems like a mega blockbuster Wrestlemania main event. But it isn't. So on the one hand absolutely fantastic, but I care less about Roman/Cody. Anyway, The Rock is killing it.

Enjoyed the Punk segment. He was back on form. Chicago probably bringing out the best in him. I thought the Cornette line was an extremely subtle dig at AEW. We know he can't say anything so for me it was the one little shot he could maybe get in. Or maybe i'm reading too much into it.

  3. The new Ghostbusters is better than the last one. It's perfectly OK and that's about it. Kumail Nanjiani is the only one who seems to understand this is a comedy and is very good in it. I just kept thinking that we didn't need this boring family. They should probably just leave this alone now.

Road House (2024) A solid 3 star film that Connor McGregor is absolutely shit in. He’s the catalyst for both the action starting and the film becoming almost too cringey to watch. Terrible casting.

Agreed. Seems like a classic 'He's a name at the time lets cast him, oh no he's problematic and shit, oh he's really shit' casting.

Enjoyed the film though. Gyllenhall is a favourite of mine and he makes it work. Same charisma as Swayze.

Poor Things - I'm not sure why, I had a suspicion I was going to hate this in a 'mother!'-esque way. Happy to report that I was wrong, I loved it. Emma Stone is terrific and Mark Ruffalo is funny as fuck. Great stuff.

I think Emma Stone really did pull off one of the all time performances. She's so good in it. Full deserving of the Oscar. Ruffalo's descent in the film is brilliantly funny.

  5. AEW are nailing Okada at the moment. It also makes the Young Bucks gimmick even better. Absolutely belting.

Ospreay just has IT. The crowd love him, his promos are great and he feels big time.

Fantastic Main event. Copeland looks revitalised by this feud and Christian is on the run of his life. Fantastic and I'm glad they finally got a feud befitting them

What makes someone valuable to AEW doesn't necessarily make them valuable to WWE and vice versa. Ospreay would probably do well in WWE but unlikely to make a huge change in their business while Ospreay in AEW could potentially make a huge difference, therefore he's worth more to them than he is to Triple H.

True but I reckon them missing out on both Okada and Ospreay is pretty shit for Triple H. He would have wanted at least one.

Good news for wrestlers though. AEW being a genuine attraction in terms of money etc will mean increased bumps for those whos contracts are up in WWE

  7. A lot of the response on Twitter is from the usual 'AEW SUX' crowd. People calling it pointless and having no meaning having clearly not watched the match. That spot utterly has meaning in the context of it. It's dangerous and you don't have to like it, but some of the responses now are tiresome.

  8. Sting/Rollins had a good build and Stinger holding the belt was great but the damage was done by having Triple H beat Sting at Mania. Absolute trash decision. The point was they didn't make Sting the big deal he was.

  9. That was a sensational show with the match of the year and the moment of the year both on it.

Sting going out like the absolute megastar he is was so great to see. Thank fuck Tony Khan gave him that moment

  10. Wouldn't be shocked if Hangman goes mental on Swerve which ultimately makes Joe retain. Like Hangman doesn't want to pin Swerve he wants to absolutely batter him. Then have Joe pin Hangman. Keep the feud going while Joe retains, nobody looks weak and some more good stuff.

  11. I think I'm fairly lucky as all my close mates and even friends from Uni etc who I still keep in touch with are all still wrestling fans. They might not keep up, but they'll know what's going on or we just talk about old wrestling shit. There's one guy who hates it but he's the outcast.

Even a few guys at work  used to watch it so you can kind of talk about it in a round about way. I think people 30 and up talk way more about wrestling now then they did before.

The bit about Bry D is both fair and sad. He should be the man in AEW but I don't think it's what he wants and Tony isn't ruthless enough as a booker to make the talent do stuff they don't want  to do. For all the great stuff in AEW there is not enough "Do as you are told" rather than the "Do what you want" attitude that prevails.

Or body wise, they both know that going with him in a big feud might not be wise. I agree that he needs to be involved in better stuff, but I imagine backstage is Bryan's real value for AEW at the moment.

I can see Flair turning on Sting for sure as a nod to their past. But an impromptu match is just nonsense. I still think Flair going for a low blow but Sting having a cup or something knowing what Flair would do would be good. Then have Stinger kick the old bastard in the nuts.

Happy with that news. It really picked up steam towards the end of Season 1. I have high hopes for Season 2 but for goodness sake just release them all at once.

Yeah the weekly thing doesn't really work for sitcoms anymore. Drama totally get it, but nobody's waiting per week for 22 minutes
