  1. That was just bland. We all know he was a prat for punching someone and was rightly fired. If they were showing the footage, I thought they would make it funny or something. Have The Bucks do commentary and put the boot in. This was just...what? I don't see how it pushes ANYTHING forward. Nobody is going to change their mind on this. It will pop a rating, but it was all very desperate Bischoff in late 98.

I don't see how this benefits Perry. Not the way I would have gone with him.

The only person who has won is Drew, who will have an absolute field day with this. Probably will put his hair in a ponytail every time Punk talks.

The rest of the show was 'meh' with a shit crowd. If you're gonna drop the footage at least do it on a show which is a banger. Ospreay's line was pretty shit but throwaway. Should have just said I turned you down mate so stop crying and put over the company. Too much to ask.

All in all I think AEW are really missing Omega/MJF/Hangman. They need two of these on Dynamite. It just doesn't feel like AEW at the moment despite the good work of Joe/Swerve etc.

Behave, their small dick energy was all over when they had actual competition.

Yup. It's hilarious when people seem to forget Vince fucking loved taking shots at WCW. Hell even when he was kicking the shit out of them he sent Big Show out dressed as Hogan to mock him. They only stopped mentioning competition when there wasn't any.

Dave Meltzer is saying it's solely to embarrass CM Punk and Khan is furious.

Think Meltzer said he didn't hear that from Khan himself. I reckon there's a lot of misinformation about to try and shroud it in secrecy. It wont be what anyone thinks it is I reckon

I didn't get that The Rock was turning babyface from that segment at all. Did I watch the wrong one? He called everyone trailer trash, put undertones of threats throughout the segment, and then ended it with a thinly veiled gesture that he's got something on Rhodes. You're all mad.

Agreed. I think it was more 'What's he up to' rather than smiling babyface. Cody V The Rock should be massive and have The Rock continue on this trajectory. He has clearly loved it and it's hopefully convinced him to take some more risks (also in his acting career which has been shit for years)

    Does Mox care though?

No, especially as I'm not sure him and Rollins are particularly close. Mox loves the freedom he gets wrestling the way he loves. Perhaps in a few years if he feels like hanging it up, but I cannot see him being back there any time soon unless a deal was cut.

Overall it was an OK RAW. No real mega surprises. I do wonder where they go from here. Punk/Drew is obviously great fun, but I do question who's facing Cody until The Rock/Roman get back.

  5. Michael Cole was superb on commentary in that Main Event. He's always going to somewhat grate on me, but he can be excellent and last night felt the first time he's called a 'Mania main event and it felt like he added to it.

*far, far too long talking about this cunt and I should be ashamed of myself.

Ha I get that. Someone tried to talk to me about where Spurs were going last week like I wanted to know the blueprint.

It was boring for a neutral I get that, but as an Arsenal fan who has seen us get our pants pulled down multiple times in away games, the change was incredibly good to see. You rightly said Spurs went there and scored 3, and have often won there. But that style of football has a ceiling. You'll then lose 1 nil to Dulwich Hamlets or something. We can vary it up this season and we probably should have nicked that game.

The lack of defensive resolve during the mid to late Wenger era really bothered me, it meant the football just wasn’t aesthetically pleasing to me even though at times we were lovely to watch. Arsenal don't give chances away now, but can also go out and pummel teams.

Against City we couldn't lose. Title race over if so.  It wasn't not thinking he couldn't win, it was knowing we could not drop all 3 points at this stage, a marked difference from last season against Liverpool where we tried to go toe to toe and conceded twice and should have lost it. If anything I think it shows Arteta does think we can win the league now. Team who don't concede chances usually go very close

  7. Doesn't Edge dislike Punk? I remember that Heyman podcast with Jericho and Edge was basically saying 'what's that guys problem' because he called him out about watching a Hockey match or something.

Supposedly Dax Harwood also did a #StandUpForAEW, just-enjoy-wrestling speech after the TV taping ended.

I would LOVE IT (Kevin Keegan-style) if Punk ends up falling out with Dax over this. The true Punker experience. I’ll only speak about CMFTR merchandise if a lawyer is present.

I watched it this morning. It was pretty tame, him just saying how thankful he is for AEW and that he loves wrestling with his friends. But Punk falls out with people over any old shit so who knows.

Fuck all the way off with the Jack Perry references though. Matt shouting, “yo Scapegoat, love your work,” during the entrance and then telling Sue, “cry me a river.” Everyone. I’m begging you. Please move on from this. I fear it’ll be the year 2045 and everyone will still be referencing Brawl Out and Brawl In. Get over it!

I actually thought that was the best way to address it all. Matt and Nick being absolute wankers and making those digs. Far more of an FU to Punk than the Copeland promo. Loving their new gimmick to be honest.

Fair enough show. As I said last week, it feels that they're treading water a bit with 'Mania coming up. I expect the run to DYNASTY to kick up soon.

I still think Khan needs to run smaller venues. Make AEW crowds rabid again and then do the big PPVs. A hot crowd really elevates AEW

  10. I was listening to the MALLRATS Director's commentary the other day. Fuck me Affleck is hilarious. The whole thing is glorious. As is the CHASING AMY one.

RED STATE really gave me hope that he was going a certain way, but he has spent the next lot of years making utter shit and crying on the internet. Clerks III being the nadir of 'sentimental Kevin' One thing I will give him is he's made a lot of those films profitable with his model of going out and touring them to an audience. It's why he can keep making films, so I'll give him that.

  11. Omega seems bored of it when it is ever asked of him. He was barely there for a lot of the stuff and seems to have walked back into a shit show.

I'm being deliberately obtuse but in all seriousness there is no way either of them would be coming straight in at that level. If they're comparable to, say, AJ Styles, even he had to go through the Feud of Jericho in order to access Roman later.

Not saying they would be straight in V Cody, but if The Rock and Roman both go on hiatus (especially The Rock) then things start looking a bit light at the top with Punk out as well. A nice shot in the arm would be good, especially with someone like Ospreay.

Yeah that stood out to me too. Him chatting about "houses" made him sound a bit stuck in the past. AEW is essentially a TV company, not an old school wrestling promotion.

He also just talked about quitting at Wembley stadium. Can't get a bigger gate than that!

  14. The amazing skill Punk has is being able to sound utterly reasonable even when saying some mad shit. It's incredible.

He's always entertaining, his comments on Vince were spot on. Most of the AEW stuff was quite tame really. His shot about it not being a business was just weird really and will pop those who hate that company, but overall it wasn't anything massively dramatic.

'I'm an outsider' (1 minute later) ' I don't agree with guaranteed money)'

    He's an insane entertainment machine.

  15. 2016 Ghostbusters had a great cast but Paul Feig was the wrong person to helm it, the cast were left to 'riff' too much and the trailer was so bad it never recovered. Also Kate McKinnon was dreadful. That cast (bar her) could have made it work with a strong script and a better Director who wasn't up his own arse and decided anyone who didn't like it was a misogynist.

Also they should have linked it to the old Ghostbusters. Why get all three in it and have them play like a cab driver. Just have them pass the baton over.

  16. SEA OF LOVE Pacino stinks of booze, cigarettes and stale coffee in this. He looks dreadful and quite rightly given the character. Ellen Barkin just pops off that screen and is fucking stunning. I miss films where people fall in love with possible hot serial killers.

  17. Khan needs to start booking smaller venues and then go big for the PPVs. AEW with a rabid audience is always the best. He needs to do it quickly.

I think AEW is slightly coasting at the moment on good shows, probably given that it's WRESTLEMANIA season as well. I think the weeks building into DYNASTY could be tasty.

I want Swerve with the belt, but Joe is so good.
