I know exactly how its produced. As do most people. Let's give some credit here.

That is not strictly true. Unless you work at the abattoir, you have an idea of what goes on, but the realities on what actually happens in them, rather then what we believe based on the information we are told is not the same. As you see in the videos filmed inside. There was one where they were relabiling the chicken as it had been sent back out of date. There are videos of meat not being stored in cold storage for example with flies on the meat. And I am sure they are nowhere near the norm, you cannot say you know how it is produced in the same way I cannot tell you how my Linda McCartney sausages ended up at Iceland this morning (6 for ÂŁ1).

On a different note, bought some more of the No Bull Chicken fillets today as I thought they were lovely. The Asian burgers were not bad either.

Well the article openly says that actual research needs to be done, and that it’s personal testimonies from idividuals. Totally understand how those testimonies could be written based on hope or be coincidental. It is a topic that they shouldn’t have touched

it was purely designed to cause a reaction, again a tactic they have used for years. This one caused a more negative reaction then normal. It was proper clickbait because the tweet was hinting at one thing, and as you point out, the article suggested something else in it's meaning.

Personally I think they were fair, but I’m not the one in your shoes and can’t comprehend how campaigns like that must play with your emotions.

You honestly can't just make a claim based on a small trial in a country where dairy is made differently, as mentioned in @Really Big Shoe's post above. You see on Facebook groups all the time, a gluten free diet made my autism better or switching my son to lactofree cured his Autism. 1 - It doesn't work like that 2 - Most of these changes are coincidental (see the MMR/Autism link again. "He was fine, but 2 days after the jab, he was diagnosed with Autism".

At best it gives people a false hope that it may help (and there are obviously health benefits, not Autistic benefits), at worse claims like this are normally people trying to take your money. There are a few big Autism programs in america who offer cures or vast improvements using a system they developed. My wife was so desperate to believe she was ready to borrow money just so we could start this behavioral program. It was only when I started looking into it more I realised it's a glorified pyramid scheme which is funded by donations from rich folk as tax write offs.

The other problem here is Autism is a HUGE spectrum. So to give Peta the benefit of the doubt, maybe cutting hormone injected (in America) dairy out of a diet MAY help a very very small number of people on the low end of the spectrum. But for the vast majority it will make SFA difference

I understand it must be a very personal subject so obviously you don’t need to answer, but have you only looked at and discussed dietary effects or have you atctually tried them out in practice? The PETA article I posted only says it could help

The problem is that, sometimes  in Autism people can have a very limited diet (the beige diet). He practically lives on nuggets, potato and carrot waffles, fruit, bread and cereal. He only has milk sometimes on Cereal but he won’t try any milk alternatives (he can tell once it is in front of him). His diet is very low in dairy is what I’m saying anyway.

The problem is people make claims about things that cause Autism and it sends people nuts. Look into Andrew Wakefield. He was the person who said that the MMR injection gave people Autism. This was due to him having patented his own alternative a few months before. He was eventually found out, stripped of his medical qualifications and fled the UK. Now one of his biggest supports is Trump and he still sprouting these lies which is why Anti Vaxers is such a thing.

PETA have used Autism as a reason to go dairy free, but with no evidence to back the claims up. It gives people force hope. Just explain why dairy is cruel. Don’t make shit up. Maybe I’m letting the issue upset me more because I’m so close to it.

The article is nonsense and there's no scientific basis whatsoever, but you saying they claimed milk causes autism is just plain false. They do enough stupid and awful things that you don't need to lie and undermine your whole point.

    So no, not 'regardless'.

I couldn’t find the tweet they sent last year which I based it from. However, no Autism organisation or pediatrician , reputable at least, suggests a dairy free diet would help someone with autism. And as someone with a severely autistic child, we’ve looked at, and discussed various dietary options and there is no diet that helps.

So yes, my earlier statement was wrong, but PETA are still making up bollocks

Hadn’t heard of this so I checked it. I don’t think you summed up their article very well.

it was a click bait tweet, with the image which caused the initial uproar, but this explains it more. Regardless, PETA have history with bullshit for headlines

Yeah, Lucky is wonderful, I watched it earlier in the year. A really fitting film for Stanton to go out on. Lynch has always been a fine character actor, really interested to see how he progresses as a director.

When he popped up in The Founder, I legit thought it was Heyman for a second. But agree, he is one of those journeymen who always puts in a decent turn no matter the film

I suspect nothing will happen. It feels like it’s a very different time now. You’ve got the New Day doing video game tournaments with The Elite, Kevin Owens describing Juice Robinson as the best promo in the business on Twitter and Daniel Bryan openly talking about what an achievement, “All In,” was in press interviews. It’s nothing like it was back when that poor chap in the Highlanders was shown in the crowd during a TNA show.

also, that Highlanders thing happened when TNA were trying to be a legit #2 promotion (pun intended) rival to WWE with the going live on Monday's, Hogan and Bisch. It was a different time

  9. Sorry guys, I forgot to take a picture of my dinner. I was at the mother in laws so went to one of my old haunts. Rock n Roe. They do Fishtucky. 4 bits of cod, bit larger then cod bites, but in a “southern” fried coating. Despite being a proper chippy, their chips are just average but the Fishtucky is lovely

  10. Asda in their small packet sweets have lots of veggie ones, including cola bottles and rainbow belts. Have a V in the bottom left side of the packet and 5 bags for ÂŁ1.

The burger thing's interesting, because I once saw a place in Scotland that did battered burgers. Sounded good, but I only saw it on the menu too late, after I'd got my fish & chips.

What's the position on battered burgers?

if it's not a piece of fish or sausage it can fuck off

I was going to put that in my post, but decided against it for the same reasons. Absolutely agree, though.

No gammon in a proper pie and mash shop.

Whilst it's main audience is of an older generation, I don't think Tommy Robinson has ever eaten in a pie and mash shop. You have to remember that most pie and mash shops were born in the East End of London, as are the people they frequent them. This is why more have opened up around Essex as the traditionals have moved out. But the East End is particularly multicultural so I don't think people are bothered by Halal. I know there are some halal ones in Forest Gate, but will keep a look out when I am next around

This "proper chippies can't sell kebabs" business is doing my nut, as opposed to just accepting it for a regional difference, like some regions you have proper pubs that don't sell scratchings. Saying a proper chippy that's a proper chippy in every other sense (real chips, good fish, array of pies, sausages, mushy peas etc) isnt a proper chippy because it also sells donner meat is akin in my head to saying that Mania VIII isn't a proper WrestleMania because as well as Hogan, Piper and Savage in the ring and Gorilla on comms, it also had Ric Flair.

If virtually every proper chippy in my West Midlands hometown didn't also do donner kebabs, I doubt I'd have eaten one before the age of 18 when I moved out. And discovered the horror of what you call a kebab shop, where there are loads of non-chippy extras and weak fries instead of real chips and often no fish. Also means I hadn't eaten in a "proper chippy" according to you men until I was 18 either. Utter bollocks.

A proper chip shop has Fish as it's main menu item and cooks fresh potatoes for chips. If it sells things like Kebabs and Burgers, they are just additional offerings and does not change it's status.

If it is a shop that has Kebabs as it's main food item, but they sell fish, it's a kebab shop. And they nearly always use shitty frozen chips. I really don't understand why this is so hard to grasp

Chip Spice is paprika salt, basically. And it's the best.

We don't get it "daaaan saalf" but the first time i ever discovered it was back in Norway in the mid 90's. I even brought some back. Peri Peri salt is pretty similar to it as well, and easier to get.

  15. Most of the pie and mash shops near me (Essex) do a vegetarian pie. And the facts are if you dont offer at least a vegetarian option, your going to miss out on lots of potential business. A meat eater is not going to stop going to a restaurant or take away because they also offer vegan/vegetarian options, but a vegetarian or vegan won’t go somewhere that has no options for them.

I thought that had been completely debunked and there's no benefits except for people who actually have an intolerance.

Me too. I thought a lot of Gluten free people were advised to for weight management rather then health. I know someone with an actual intolerance, but know of others advised not too because of health benefits and so say they are intolerant rather then actually being so.

This weekend I’m in London so will be heading straight to Temple Of Seitan

I’m not a vegan (I’m pesceterian, leaning more towards Seagan) but I adore temple. It’s out on the beaten track a bit (and proper Camden has some great options too.

also add me as another No bull fan. Those  new items they’ve added are all pretty good
