It's quicker to just assume Cornette said something idiotic on every episode of his podcast. Because he has. I don't see the point in picking him out for this.

He sure does, but this seems an insane reaction by even his standards. Admittedly that’s an assumption because I’m not listening to his bullshit and giving him the clicks he’s craving

Surely it’d be easier to name this the Bully Ray & Booker T thread. Worst takes, every single time. I don’t know how either succeeded in the business. Thick as mince.

The only rationale that makes sense to me is that they’re on a grift not dissimilar to Cornette and Russo, and just spout shit to get attention and clicks.

It's like they saw the success Russo and Cornette and thought they could make money out of it, but haven't figured it all out. Bully makes Busted Open radio an easy skip for me, which is a shame because some of those guys are pretty good.

I think we can all agree that this isn't a good look though

Here's the clip in question. Clearly said tongue-in-cheek. Just get an AEW tattoo already, Scorchio!

The quote is worse out of context. I’ll take the L because I maintain that post makes it seem more cringey but accept in the interview the context was jovial.

ill be honest @air_raid I felt the same when Tony Khan hyped the biggest AEW signing as being Christian Cage, look how that’s worked out (Kennedy, not so much).

Why is that an awful take?

I thought it was another example of weird robot like Cena. Just a weird thing to say to somebody. He’s basically made an opinion of someone it would seem based on their TV character.

    Promo of the year.

    The whole thing is great

The whole presser was great, Will Ospreay doing a great job of not coming across as the twat we thought he was (he certainly seems he’s changed since getting with Alex Windsor)

  6. I just thought a thread of shit takes/opinions from wrestlers might be a good idea. I felt inspired by this I found on twitter

Add you’re awful takes and opinions from wrestlers here

Do AEW PPVs get shown on ITV sometime after the fact?

Only ones which were outside of the current contract. This one won’t be

  8. So I wasn’t the only one who thought when surfer sting appeared on stage that good old Steve had for his last match cut, dyed his hair right? Right?

I won’t be having any Cody slander. You know how easily he starts getting choked up! Don’t upset him!

But yeah. He’s the best. On and off screen. Saved the industry by breaking the decades-long monopoly. Saved the WWE by being the top babyface they always wanted. Gonna save the whole company from The Bloodline. Calls The Rock out on his shit, outdated banter. Excellent, normal vocabulary. Great, sensible tattoo. Responsible dog owner. Cures the blind.

He also solved Racism whilst in AEW.

  10. His WWE run was cack. 1 mania match, 1 Raw match (technically 2 in the same night I guess) and 1 title match with Rollins. He was bought in as a novalty act and a way to flog that years WWE game. The novelty going full force at Mania when it turned into NWO vs DX and look, the teenage me probably wanted that, but not 30 something me.

AEW treated him like a living legend, The Icon. He was protected and used in the right way in my opinion and he clearly loved his time there. TNA did a great job with him for the most part, but WWE never did. Almost as bad a run as Goldberg in 03.

  11. The whole presser was great, Will Ospreay doing a great job of not coming across as the twat we thought he was (he certainly seems he’s changed since getting with Alex Windsor)

    but this was my highlight

  12. When Sting first talked to Tony Khan he was told he didn’t like how he’d been treated elsewhere and wanted him to have the send off he deserves. I think he got it.

    - His Sons dressed up as classic era Stings and doing Stinger Splashes

    - Seek and Destroy

    - Getting all his greatest hits in

    - Doing mad crazy shit

    - His bestie almost killing himself (hoping this was the scene at the brooks household last night)IMG_2956.thumb.jpeg.2c514bbb2aa08df109df982de2c39d01.jpeg

    - Going out undefeated and as a champion

Greatest wrestling retirement of all time. And the Bucks were absolutely perfect for the role (“Sorry, We HATE you”).

The whole PPV minus the scramble was great,  but that’s been talked about enough. But I want to also call out the world title 3 way. Masterful booking. Hangman completing his turn to the dark side, Joe still being a fighting champion, Swerve opting to try to win by not cheating. It will be a shame when Swerve beats Joe for the belt at Dynasty, but it’s the right move because Swerve vs Ospreay for the belt at All In will be Amazing.

For a company that doesn’t know how to tell stories, they did a pretty good job all night, this was near peak AEW for me and worth every penny. What a show!

  13. I’ve taken tomorrow off. AEW PPV’s are long so I’ve decided to watch zero hour (and a half) and then probably the first hour live and the other 4 hours tomorrow morning post school run. It’s got all the makings of an all time classic as well as what will probably be a very emotional farewell to the Stinger.

Completely pointless nothing show this week, but this bit is a ton of fun and worth a watch. Mark Briscoe is the best.

No love for Lovestrick Nigel McGuiness or The lovely last showdown between Deonna and Toni Storm?

Are you watching regularly now then?

I normally have the first hour before I go to bed unless something keeps me watching. Weirdly last night I woke up 30 minutes into the promo and had no idea how much I missed, and yet got to hear all I cared for, the Mania matches. No way I’m watching the first 30 minutes back I’ll just take everyone’s word that it was cinema as that’s the hyperbole on X

What’s the deal with Rock? Have the movie roles dried up? For a man who used to be too busy to even swing by, he’s now putting out over an hour of promo work in the space of a day. Where’s all this time come from?

But yeah, Cody’s ability to banter off The Rock and rise above his schtick would be surprising if it was anyone else. But this man is undeniable. This man cannot be stopped. This man is the uncrowned World Champion. This is the top guy elect. It’s not even a joke anymore. Fate has taken over. He’s gonna be the biggest star in the business whether he wants to or not.

Dwayne’s stock in Hollywood has certainly been falling. I know he’s got a Christmas film out for Netflix later this year and Fast XI whenever that films, but doesn’t seem to have much after the shit he pulled with DC over Black Adam and his TV show was also cancelled so this seemed like a good time to come back.

I Illogical or not (you want illogical, Swerve Strickland took a camera in Hangman Page's house) but who cares because it's great.

    I FUCKING LOVE SEEING IT.

Illogical? If he didn’t do it on camera, how would the world know? He took that from Dwayne Johnson’s social media, because if he didn’t take a camera to the house he just bought Tamina, how would we know he bought her a house and therefore we should applaud how great he is!

  18. 15 minutes ago, LaGoosh said:

That sounds pretty boring. I'll stick with AEW.

Another solid show this week with plenty to enjoy.

Opening segment was 95% great but the 5% bad kind of overshadowed in. I'm sure it all made sense when they wrote it down but in practice Hangman saying he wasn't competing then turning out to be lying about it made no goddamn sense whatsoever.

    Hear me out.

A lot of people complaining about logic “Well, what if Swerve didn’t come out?”. So my interpretation was Hangman said he was injured PRECISELY to get Swerve out. Look at what actions both men have taken and what they have said about each other over the last few months. You think with Hangman seemingly out the picture Swerve isn’t coming out to be all Charlie Big Potatoes because he now only has Joe to worry about and not the seemingly unhinged Millennial Cowboy? I thought the Mark Henry inspired twist was fantastic and I have no idea who I want to win of the 3. It’s Swerves time to win, but is it the right time or should that be at Double or Nothing?

@Hannibal Scorch well my ex use to have a kodi and we couldn't get it to work. It doesn't really matter anyway its on YouTube which is fine

Kodi is software. Fire sticks are media devices that will work with anything that has an hdmi port.

  20. 5 minutes ago, no user name said:

Well firesticks don't work as it's an old TV. Can mirror YouTube from my phone onto my TV though. Can you do that with fight?

How does a 10 year old TV not except a fire stick? It’s an hdmi input. You can mirror Triller but that will depend how. I know it supports Apple TV and Firestick casting through experience.

@Stattolooks like it’s cheaper on YT as it’s a rental. With triller it’s on your account to watch whenever, this looks like it’s only a week you have. As it’s only £3 (I assume as I have AEW+), it’s a no brainer
