I skimmed through it this morning, mainly just skipping to the finishes for most matches. For the matches I did watch in full:

I thought Logan Paul looked an absolute star out there and definitely didn't feel like just a celebrity appearance.  Him hitting the 3 Amigos and then doing the Eddie shuffle on the top rope were top level cheap heat shithousery.  Not sure if the turn at the end was a way of shifting the focus back onto Miz or if they'll go down a Miz/Paul feud route, but they could do worse than to throw some money at him (and his brother if he's interested) to do more in the future.

Charlotte/Rousey was good, if a little clunky at times (though that actually added to it in places).  Charlotte really overdoes the pantomime facials which stands out even more against someone like Rousey.  Thought the crowd were a bit flat at times but this was towards the end of the night and they still had Austin to go, so understandable.

I can completely understand why they didn't advertise the Austin match, and I have no doubt it was 100% Austin's decision.  This was not a Shawn Michaels or Edge type comeback where you think they have another run in them.  Austin looked great aesthetically in the sense he's looked the same for the past 25 years, but he looked pretty slow and as limited in the ring as his 19 year absence would suggest.  None of that mattered though - this was great for what it needed to be.  I thought the talk segment at the start was a bit lacklustre and the eventual "ok let's have a match" was anticlimactic, but by the end of the night none of that really mattered.  Let this be it for Austin physically and hope the Saudis didn't watch the show.

    In terms of everything else:

The stadium looked great, as you'd expect.

Was the injury in the opener a work?  Certainly looked like it from the replays they showed at the end, but then I caught the announcers talking later about Boogs needing surgery.

Drew's sword spot with the ropes was cool.

    Didn't watch anything of Becky/Bianca.

Cody's entrance got a great reaction but zero interest in sitting through the match.  Finish seemed to be hot so I assume it went well.

Mate it is super super rare I would say this about anything wwe related however you really are missing out not watching the becky vs Bianca match and the same for rollins vs Cody. They were very very good.

In terms of the injury in the opener it seemed legit he was in alot of pain and the update afterwards way way into the show once you would have more than likely forgot about it made it seem very real and legit which Is a huge shame for boogs in his first mania match.

Another thing I forgot to mention is how sad it is and it must have been another level of disappointing and gutting for the new day, warmed up, dressed ready to go out there for their match only for it to be cut because they had run over and there wasn't enough time. You would severely hope they get moved to tonight if nothing else but respect for those guys and what they do/have done for the company.

I also forgot to mention how fucking irritating and annoying the constant barrage of adverts/replays after every fucking move and camera angles at times became the more the show went on.

Also several times the feed cut out and just went black from when the undertaker came out and the last time was during the Charlotte vs Ronda match which was very fucking irritating during the biggest show of tbe year and the first time in years I paid for a show on box office

  2. I genuinely cannot find the words to explain how amazing this first night was overall.

It wasn't perfect the entire way through there were some off bits but quite a few of the matches went out there and tried to steal the show.

Cody coming back against rollins got a huge pop from me and that match was really fucking good.

Becky vs Bianca was a very very very good women's match (out of the 2 women's title matches this one shat on Charlotte vs Ronda)

But that main event.....when can we say honestly wwe went into the main event of the first night of wrestlemania and they under promised with this is a version of the KO show with stone cold.....going into a no holds barred match with a returning Austin for the first time in 19 years!!?? Was the match a 5 star classic no absolutely not. But it was so fucking special too see it because it looked like it just wouldn't happen again and Austin looked like he was having a blast.

Overall this was so so so entertaining and enjoyable I can't believe how much I was into some of these matches and how much I enjoyed it.

  3. Thank you very much for this dude, out of these and wrestlemania itself I'm much more excited for alot of this.

I personally really enjoy GCW so there is a hell of alot of big matches and end of storylines culminating this weekend.

With no ufc this weekend I might even check out some AAA for the first time amongst other bits.

First thought: what the hell has happened to Seth Rollins? Are all their heels Dolph Ziggler now?

Second thought: if you ignore the Cody rumours, this feels far more like a build to a surprise squash with the undertaker than it does a competitive match with a new debut.

Yeah man I agree completely with this. I can't help but feel this is going to be a massive disappointment in terms of what everyone is expecting

The booking was not about giving Ricochet anything or any thought process regarding him at all, it was just about making Theory look strong for Mania by giving him a decisive win, Ricochet was collateral damage. Why almost anyone on the roster couldn’t have been used in that spot, I have no clue.

It just adds further weight to the argument that the company only cares about creating memorable “moments” and has collectively forgotten how to make stats or do even mid-term pro wrestling booking, let alone long term. Planning for a couple of weeks for the title change was to create a “moment” which was more about Zayn losing than it was about Ricochet winning.

They haven’t got a clue any more about midcard titles other than just as a reason for people to fight, without clocking that if you treat them like shit and don’t let the wearers look like they’re any better than anyone else, nobody cares that the wrestlers are fighting over them. Might as well be Pepper On A Pole.

Yeah I mean when ricochet came out the commentary team were bigging up how much of a special thing this was and how he's he chanp on smackdown ext ext.

When I saw it was theory he was against I genuinely sat up and thought this could be a fun little match between these 2. But no it wasn't worth it, and you can't do something like that to elevate someone before wrestlemania while completely squashing another match but this one with a title at stake which surely should really mean something too? But it obviously doesn't.

A stupid throwaway match with a none wrestler was more important. Wwe 2022 logic

Squashing the Intercontinental Champion in two minutes? They just Honky’d an incredibly gifted wrestler and worse still, he’s got to carry on coming out with that belt as if either he or it are still worth a shit.

These last “I don’t even know how long” has been some of the worst booked pro wrestling since WCW 2000.

Yeah that was something that really blew my mind too. They had very little actual matches on the episode anyways so why would they land on only giving him 2 minutes

  7. I watched this week's episode live as I'm dying with a bad case of the flu and chest infection.

It can't just be me that thinks that this last go home Raw before the biggest ppv of the entire year was so unbelievably flat and didn't offer anything at all to make you excited or want to fork out however much for the ppv.

It was promo after promo after promo after promo. Then maybe a match that would last 3 minutes then back to promo.

When did they stop having X vs X for the title at wrestlemania and have them BOTH in the ring at say the start of raw. Instead you have to split them both up and do it separately? I just can't for the life of me understand this.

Some of the best feuds in wrestlemania history has been down to segments together in the ring. The list is too long to go through but now it just feels so stupid and makes no sense at all to format it this way.

  8. I've got seriously bad flu and I've got to work tonight doing sound and a club night so I'll be watching this on my laptop and trying to take my mind off the pain and discomfort.

It's going to either step up to the challenge of last week's show or it will fall flat and be really underwhelming. The main card is pretty tasty so I'm looking forward to it

Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins has been found dead while on tour in Colombia.

    That's a real shocker.

I've been crying all morning about this. Like many others that live and breathe rock/metal Foo fighters are one of those bands that really can't do any wrong.

I know Taylor has had substance issues in the past so without speculating with how sudden this was you have to think it's a possibility.

He was such a kind hearted dude that was fucking untouchable on those drums.

Devastating news to start the day with

  10. I've just watched the new jackass film and while it's not terrible it's by far the worst out of the 4 films.

There's some amazing stunts but there sandwiched between random misses so it's a roller-coaster but not really the best sort.

I gave it 6/10 but I'm interested to hear what everyone else thinks about it

Seems this was a disaster. Not even talking about the fight, but the actual coverage. I chucked it on at 9pm, and it was nothing but a feed from a camera that was clearly just resting in the ring. It was like that for ages. I flick off and try and watch again 15 minutes later, and get nothing at all. Seems like everyone else was in the same boat judging by twitter. "I feel ripped off, even though its free" was a good tweet I saw. Managed to refresh it in the middle of R3. It was Ok for what it was. If anything, it was disappointingly reserved and professional. Would have been way better if it was a Bob Sapp-esque fight where theyre completley gassed after a few minutes, and throwing everything into every punch and it only lasting a couple of rounds,

Yeah I agree with you on this, with how they were at the weigh ins and the shit show that was the press conference you went in there thinking they would be ripping each others throats out.

But going from that level of intensity and whatnot too the first bell going and them being so reserved and very rarely throwing anything it does come across abit odd.

I had Thor winning 4 or possibly 5 rounds but it wasn't terrible, just very different to what the world thought it was going to be

  12. I think this turned out to easily be the best fight night card of the past 12 months.

Dana was so happy he gave all 9 finished fights a 50k bonus.

The brits absolutely rose to the occasion and it felt really really special, aspinal getting that submission and popping volkovs elbow was phenomenal, the co main event was something that truly delivered and looked like a sort of arcade Street fighter sort of fight, paddy the baddy made a believer out of me because his reaction and how much the crowd was behind him gave me goosebumps.

I don't know if any of you watched the molly McCann documentary on BT sport this week but it was so honest and emotional at times I was super excited too watch her and good God that knock out was scary and I think that is putting it lightly.

Dana has come out in the post fight press conference and said they didn't book any other venues in the uk this year however after tonight they are going to move shit around and come back before the end of the year

He didn’t call you a cunt. I am though, Karaoke Cunt.

Amazing try mate honestly ranks quite high however I've been in a band for the past year and a half.

And while yes you might just think that is a real insult, doing that all those years made me a fair amount of money and constant shows.

Cheers though mate always nice to have a regular reminder why this forum is full of fucking toxic cunts that are fucking incredibly vocal and opinionated online on a fucking forum

How were you using it then?

Explaining exactly how it fucking looked on TV.

Also mate if this was something that offended you, firing back calling me a cunt (which for all intensive purposes is renowned as one of the most offensive words you can use) pretty much destroyed any argument or fucking angle you were trying to go for

    Cunt.

Can we quit with using autism as a joke or a derogatory term.

Mate I have autism, adhd, and bi polar. I wasn't actually using it in a horrible or derogatory manner.

  16. Admittedly I only watch this here and there but what is that pat McAfee and why is he allowed on commentary.

When nakamura was making his entrance it cut to him and he was fucking dry humping Michael Coles head like an autistic child

  17. I'm actually really looking forward to this card today.

The fact it's the first show in years that starts early for us is a Brucey bonus.

The main card is pretty fucking good and even the prelims are fairly stacked too.

It sucks slightly that the main card will be clashing with the hall vs the mountain fight but I'll watch that after this has finished.

I'm going with volkov to win and hooker for main and Co main

  18. Fuck me watching raw even recorded is a absolute slug too say the least.

In the space of the last segment which was Kevin owens vs Seth rollins they had 4 ad breaks......2 of which came from KO coming out to Seth coming out. They literally went to break came back showed a promo then went back to ad.

Now it's frustrating watching it at home I can't fucking imagine how annoying it is for the guys in the ring and the fans in the building that have paid to be there
