  1. The reviews are mixed and I'm worried it's going to be complete fan service or dogshit. It's a franchise that I've grown up with and have invested in games and literature surrounding the series and am hoping for a payoff.

I think everybody has their own interpretation of characters and what will happen so when something doesn't go to plan people get pissy.

I've got 2 full teaching days left before I see it and am hoping to be pleasantly surprised.

  2. There's so much in TLJ that doesn't actually lead to anything but I do agree that the Luke and Kylo scenes were some of the best Star Wars has to offer.

The ROS TV spots are enough to wet your appetite and I'm more excited than previously thought. Roll on Friday.

  3. I think for me, it didn't flow well from what was established in episode 7 and doesn't feel very star wars at times. That, peppered with so many unanswered questions make it hard to invest in.

It's a good film but weak compared to episodes 4-7. (I don't count the prequels)

  4. What a tremendous Twitter thread. The rise and fall and rise (?) Of Daniel Bryan is wonderful, the Undertaker had his moments but the Goldberg return and squash is my all time favourite wrestling moment. Beautifully played out.

I often think of the current product as shite but when the right people are in the right place at the right time, it's great. Some wonderful moments in this decade.

  5. It should be compulsory for every leader to go up against Andrew Neil during the election season. He's astute, doesn't tolerate bullshit and will hold people to account. Ducking this is cowardice and should speak volumes.

Marr is just not hot enough to press politicians and as seen this morning, lets too much slide by without challenge.

    Shambles.

Boris Johnson is a fucking cunt.

  6. Frightening viewing. Some tards on twitter are arguing state murder and how unnecessary it was. Seeing the video and knowing that there's a vest, regardless of whether real or fake, those officers carried out their training perfectly; the knife attack and the possibility of a vest justifies the response.

People aren't tolerating this shit anymore and are taking more of a stand. Fair play to all involved.

  7. I'm experiencing major politics apathy and don't see the point in voting.

That said, I forsee cunty Tories winning again and the gammon army coming out in force.

I'd love a labour govt but the current opposition just aren't strong enough and that's saying something when looking at the current shower of shite. Kier Starmer looked good in the debate last week and had some leadership qualities when debating at the box.

I never thought I'd say it but I'd almost kill for a Tony Blair in this day and age...

  8. I watched Phantom Menace today to start my Skywalker Saga binge in the run up to IX. It's a decent film and the second best of the prequels (Revenge of the Sith gets that honour).

An enjoyable political storyline, the best soundtrack of the prequels, the best lightsaber duel and a podrace (which, admittedly, I hated on first viewing) it holds up well... Poor CGI aside.

It sets things up nicely and takes a different route from the band of strangers working together narrative of the preceding trilogies. That, and Brian fucking Blessed mean that history should be kinder than it has been to the one that started it all... Sort of?

  9. How many times does the medic need to ask for some space? The glorious moment Brock saved us from the shit acting with a cracking bin shot and an impressive F5 x2 just reinforces my love of Brock who is playing a blinder.

I still hate Rey Mysterio and think he's wooden as fuck.

The Flair Hogan segments are dull and that's coming from a huge Hulkamaniac. Such a terrible waste.

Final thought - Brocks losing at blood money. Shame.

How do you know what it gives away? For all we know that is all from the first act!

I'm hoping this is all first act stuff and secretly hope to be pleasantly surprised. I still can't shake some of the disappointment from TLJ though.

Should have killed Leia off then.

  11. A fairly average raw with some promising in-ring action. The talent on the roster has immense potential... The writing on the other hand?

I'm not buying the Cain Velasquez shit. Granted, he's got a legitimate background but looks like the uncle you made cool stories up about being in prison for killing 3 men with a crowbar but in reality works in a garage instead having done nothing of the sort. In the age of HD and FULL COLOUR, sending a bloke out in a black t-shirt screams mediocre. Get the man something with his name on for Christ sake. I guess the small mercy is that he kept his clothes on this time.

Random Shelton Brock references are tenuous. He deserves so much more than to be bitched out to extend a feud which nobody really wanted and will not amount to anything other than appeasing the Saudis.

Despite all that, you know we'll be tuning in next week.

  12. Saudi money will really buy anything.

Braun doing a big show won't do him any favours and I'm not fussed about Cain/Brock.

    Money on an Edge return?

Thankfully we can erase this from our collective memory like the HBK return.

  13. A shit ending to an average PPV with all momentum for the fiend being destroyed. Rollins is a shit champion and the ending was pointless. Rollins needed to lose. Disqualification in HIAC? Imagine undertaker getting DQ'd for throwing Mankind off the cell. It's stupid shit like this that undermines the audience, devalues the product and restricts the amount of genuine stars that can be made.

We'll continue to watch anyway. We live in hope...

  14. Echoing the love for Diddy Kong Racing. Tremendous fun with THREE choices of vehicle. The multiplayer battle mode was great fun too.

My pick - Rosco McQueen. Running around a burning building, chopping up robots with an axe and putting out fires. Slightly repetitive but an all round solid platformer. See also: Blasto and Gex 3D.
