  1. I'm thinking of buying a Nintendo Switch between now and Christmas, mostly for Mario Odyssey. The question is, other than Zelda and Mario, is it worth it so far? I'm not arsed about most of their other 'big' games like Splatoon 2 or Arms, so am I better waiting another few years for more releases and a price drop?

My favourite thing about that video is that it reminded me Jacob Novak existed. The greatest missed opportunity of the decade, Jacob Novak, despite being thoroughly mediocre.

Nah, he's certainly no Lucky Cannon. The least convincing 'ladies man' gimmick of all time.

  3. Just got back from Spider-Man: Homecoming. Other than the last battle scene suffering from the 'too much CGI happening and I can't really make out what's going on' issue, I thought it was great. The Peter Parker high-school bits were especially good.

Easily the best Spidey film since the original. Never understood the love for the second film though. Alfred Molina's bloody crap in it.

  4. When he can be arsed, Brock really does make his opponents look like a million bucks doesn't he? Turning beetroot for Joe, throwing himself around the ring for Show a few years back and the way he sold the spear for Goldberg. He's fucking great, Brock is.

  5. I'm not a fan of these Drew McIntyre squash matches. After that first belting match with Lorcan, they should've put him straight into a competitive storyline. Just seems they're killing time by having him beat jobbers in boring matches, until they have something decent for him.

It's completely the opposite with Aleister Black, I'm loving him and his squashes. After Takeover:Orlando I wasn't arsed about Black and was marking out for Drew but that's completely changed over the last month.

Bit shit, the show this week.

  6. Anything that is more up to date than their beloved nu-rock. Something that is actually in now, like EDM. Or something that fits the tone of NXT, maybe some punk or hardcore similar to Aleister Black's theme.

I remember they did an advert for the Network in like 2011 and it stood out because they used dubstep, which at the time was relevant. They're so out of touch when it comes to music usually.

Have you read the book? I only finished it last week and the first episode was really faithful to the novel. Utter gut punches of emotion throughout that first episode, and I'm looking forward, but also dreading episode two.

Elisabeth Moss is excellent as Offred though, really manages to get so much across just with her facial expressions. Not seen her in much outside of Mad Men, anyone seen her in much else worth checking out?

She's great in Top of the Lake which is well worth checking out.

  8. I've been watching the X-Men movies again before I get around to finally watching Logan. Is there any film franchise with a timeline/chronology as completely fucked as this one? Massive contradictions between ages and dates of events from film to film. Charles being in a wheelchair in the 60s then walking around in the 80s, Cyclops not recognising Wolverine in the first film despite being rescued by him in Origins: Wolverine, there's loads of examples.

I mean, I don't always expect 100% logic in my comic-book films but it just seems the filmmakers have no respect for continuity.

There's an episode of Law & Order: SUV that starts off with Robin Williams convincing Pete from"30 Rock" to tie up and strip one of the staff members at the fast food restaurant he manages, as punishment. This reminds  me of that

There was also a case of this genuinely happening in the US a few years back, a prank caller pretending to be an police officer convincing a fast food manager to strip search an employee. I only really remember the case because it inspired a really nasty film. Think it was called 'Complicit'.

  10. Not seen much talk about the actual match - only me who really enjoyed it? I'd go as far to say I enjoyed Jinder/Orton more than Styles/Owens, although Owens has been boring me for about a year now.

Anyway, I liked that PPV. Thought everything was good to great with the exception of Rowan vs Harper, which was pretty dull, and the Womens match which I used as a tea-break.

Pissed myself at that Singh brother commentators table spot. Fucking brutal.
