What a stunning range of exhibits the UKFF Museum could have. Frankie Crisp's Quality Street tin, ajmcstyles' shoes he was wearing when he returned them, a pink vest, the Hall of Chippy Teas, BWC wristbands for sale in the gift shop ... all important cultural artefacts.

Artifacts in a UKFF museum is a good offshoot of this topic.

A Kanye West poster would be my addition.

  2. The only reason I can think of for Red Velvet being Jade's milestone 50th match is that she was Jade's first opponent, so it's a 'full-circle' type scenario. As other than that, it's a really odd choice. Hopefully they give her more to sink her teeth into for match 51 and beyond.

  3. First gig was Alter Bridge in around 2006 in Wolverhampton. Could have been their first UK tour. It was fine for a first gig, Metalingus was huge, but I remember the support bands (Logan and Biff Naked) being dire.

Best gig was probably Brian Fallon in 2018 in Birmingham. There wasn't anything hugely amazing about the gig itself, but it coincided with it being just a really nice period of my life so I always look back at it fondly. A couple of Frank Turner gigs (before he disappeared up his own arse) would be up there too, along with finally getting to see Against Me at Slam Dunk a few years back.

Worst gig - I've been quite lucky with gigs to be honest, but I don't go to many and I usually only bother going to see someone if I'm a huge fan. So I'd probably say Moose Blood who my mate dragged me to see. Not that they were bad, but it was one of those gigs where I didn't know any of the songs and the crowd seemed to be made up of those creepy pop-punk blokes who are in their early 30s but still knocking about with 17 year olds.

Team Rosco P. Coltrane vs Team Bischoff, Survivor Series 2003. Say what you like about the Mirror Break Kid, "he looks like someone drew cock-eyes on one of Maurizio Sarri's testicles" etc, but this is an all-timer of a babyface performance, a one-man show. I didn't and don't give a shit about the result now, yet I always feel gutted for him (and a little for Austin) in the end. So noble in kayfabe, he had little at stake but gave absolutely everything just because it was the right thing to do. His "I'm exhausted and have nothing left!" selling was WAY overdone throughout his later career, but it fits perfect here, being largely three against one.

It shows how overpowered and tone-deaf Austin's booking mostly was that I'm still shocked he doesn't Stun Shawn after!

The promo video before this match has always stuck in my memory for some reason. Brilliant hype job.

'Stone Cold Steve Austin...DTA, don't trust anybody!.... has to trust 5 other people...' Bischoff at his dickhead best.

  5. 2023 films I've watched so far;

If These Walls Could Sing - A pretty basic documentary about Abbey Road studios. More of a puff piece than anything else. Anybody with any serious interest in Abbey Road or the Beatles will be disappointed.

Till - A pretty gruelling watch with a fantastic performance from Danielle Deadwyler (fantastic name btw). The film isn't as good as the performance but it's worth watching for that alone.

The Old Way - Nicholas Cage's Western is as rubbish as his recent horror output. Also has a horribly overbearing score playing over every scene. I'm a big fan of modern Westerns so this should be right up my street but it was shite. Ryan Keira Armstrong is good though.

Holy Spider - Really effective serial killer thriller, well worth seeking out.

    Spoiler

The most disturbing aspect of this is the communitys reaction to the killer and the glorification of his crimes. Really scary stuff.

A Man Called Otto - It's fine if you're new to this story, but completely pointless if you've seen the original. It's a typical Hollywood remake really, and the flashbacks are bordering on Hallmark movie quality. It left the only other couple in the cinema in absolute tears so job done I guess?

TÁR - I found the first hour of this to be really frustrating and didn't think I would be able to get past how much I loathed the central character, but by the end I was won over. It's definitely a lurker of a film, one that has stayed with me. Blanchett's performance is as incredible as hyped. I think I'll need to watch it a few more times to unpack everything in it.

    M3GAN tonight!

  6. I think The Miz and R-Truth are great as chicken-shit heel and comic relief respectively, so why the fuck WWE booked them as two vicious killers that the entire Raw roster were so scared of they all quit I'll never understand.

I used to get the weekly Where’s Wally magazines from the papershop when I was a kid. Loved them. Now and again you’d get a magic eye poster with them and it took me ages to figure out just how cross eyed to go!

Was this the Wally's World one where each issue focused on a different country? I had a binder folder full of every issue of this. Was fuming during lockdown when I wanted to dig them out and me mam told me she'd thrown them all away.

AEW can get some mileage out of the Gunns claiming they've killed FTR until they're healed up and ready to go.

Apologies for quoting myself, but after Rampage, I really wouldn't be surprised to see the Gunns become tag champs for a few months before dropping it to a returning FTR.

I'm not sure if that means Daddy Ass turns again though.

    Mass

Extremely powerful and hard-to-watch drama about the parents of a mass shooter and one of the kids he murdered meeting to discuss their respective grief. Very well made and incredibly well acted, especially by Martha Plimpton. Brace yourself, though.

It's brilliant but I never want to watch it again.

Toni Storm was fucking orange!  Did nobody else notice this, she was straight out of a Tango ad.

She also came out with a facial expression that screamed 'I'm doing the job tonight'.

I did think Saraya looked a fair bit better in this than her return match though.

  11. I don't think Excalibur wearing a mask is any sillier than JR wearing a cowboy hat or having a nonce in a crown commentate, but it would also be pretty fun for Preston Vance to unmask Excalibur to add to his 'absolute bullying bastard' persona.
