The green parakeets have migrated to the Midlands, I've seen a few whilst wondering around Sandwell Valley Park.

I used to do the park run at Sandwell Valley every Saturday morning and it was always a half-decent place for spotting wildlife. I might have to go again and see if I can tick a parakeet off the list.

The Sonic racing games are probably the closest to this in terms of the reasonably simplistic driving mechanics, and much less predatory. I'd recommend giving them a look instead.

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed was an absolutely cracking game. I've been toying with the idea of buying a 360 again and remembering this may have just swayed me.

  3. I thought that was a really good go-home show for the most part.

-Orange Cassidy realising his most powerful weapon is now useless against the final boss Mox.

-Hangman finally rediscovering his fire and Nana being as funny as ever.

-Samoe Joe/Not Serpentico delivering one of the best wrestling gifs ever.

-Young Bucks reverting to their best punchable dickhead characters (cracking little match too - Komander is doing well to rise above this current crop of luchas and stand out a bit more).

-Street Fight main event being a ton of fun. Paul Wight is an absolute madman. Ibushi isn't far off, that clothesline off the bike was crazy. Thought everyone played their parts well here and I'm up for seeing Don Callis vs Omega/Jericho continue, no matter how long it's been going already.

Also, while I find the MJF/Jay White storyline a bit pedestrian, MJF is still one of the most compelling characters in AEW right now and I've no doubt the match will be a belter.

  4. They've fucked themselves by simultaneously doing a bunch of Marvel TV shows every year so the movies no longer feel like an event, along with rushing films out onto Disney+ a few months after the cinema release. Somebody who is on the fence about seeing the new Marvel film who has a Disney+ accountis much more likely to wait a couple of months and watch it in the comfort of their own home.

They probably should've had a bit of a break after Endgame and do a soft relaunch a few years down the line with X-Men/Fantastic Four etc, but instead they seem happy enough to keep pumping out 'content' to ever diminishing returns.

  5. Really enjoyed last night's show. Starks vs Vance and Velvet vs Soho were both good matches (and Big Bill and Nigel on commentary together were a riot) and FTR vs Vikingo/Komander was a cracker. That lucha pairing would be a good addition to the tag team ranks if that's the direction they go in.

Rampage is just a really fun, easy watch at the moment.

Oh, and they announced Garcia vs Andrade for Collision! Take my money or whatever it is the cool kids say now.

  6. Slipknot are a really weird band for me in that I loved them in my nu-metal phase, liked pretty much everything they've done since and yet still wrinkle my nose a bit everytime they get bought up. I reckon it's because Mr Seven was a massive prick on here.

Main criticism I can throw at this show is that I’ve had enough of the show-closing Nitro brawls for at least six months to a year. It’s the new kick that Tony repeats to the point of parody, like when backstage interviews would get interrupted so often that even the characters themselves were commenting out loud how stupid it was.

The Ricky Starks/Big Bill/FTR/House Of Black/BCC/LFI etc thing is just a mess at this point. There's been so many of these mad multi-man brawls with different factions that a lot of the time I'm genuinely forgetting who is feuding with who. When BCC came down at the end of this show it took me a good while to remember they've got an issue with House of Black (that doesnt seem to have been mentioned for a couple of weeks). AEW are usually quite good at these storylines featuring loads of different people with different threads that can spin off in any direction, but they haven't nailed it at all here. Compare this mess to the red-hot MJF/Bullet Club Gold/Kingdom/Acclaimed/Omega stuff from Dyno the other week and it's night and day.

I thought it was a largely forgettable show this week but that's usually the case with Collision. It's easily the weakest of the AEW TV shows. It sometimes looks like they're still scrambling to fix things and change plans in the wake of CM Punk's departure but that was over 2 months ago now, so surely that can't be the case.

To end on a good note, Mark Briscoe is fantastic.

  8. It is such an annoyingly numbered franchise:

    Scream

    Scream 2

    Scream 3

    Scream 4

    Scream (?!?!)

Scream VI (why the sudden switch to Roman numerals?)

Saying that, I thought VI was a lot of fun although that may be because Dermot Mulroney has that 'okay, I'm in safe hands now' feeling where he just perks up any project he's involved in. See also Shea Whigham.

Some people are theorising the multiple challengers coming at once thing is setting up a big multi-man for the World title at the new December PPV World's End in Long Island. AEW haven't done a big multi man match for the World title previously but there's a first for everything I suppose.

I'd be well up for that. The only multi-man World title match I can recall is Omega vs Pac vs Orange Cassidy so a 4 or even 5-way would be refreshing.

EDIT: Oh, and the Four-pillars match. Duh.

  10. I finally watched She Will after having it on my to-watch list for about 18 months. Wish I hadn't bothered. I'm so bored of these horror films where fuck all happens.

If you're going to have a horror film where nothing happens, at least make the characters strong so that I might feel the slightest bit of emotional involvement. This current trend of horror films playing its cards close to its chest and keeping the viewer at a distance is so frustrating. It doesn't make the film any creepier or scary, it just makes it boring and vague.

    It's crap.

The Menu is a laugh. Not as batshit-mental as I'd heard but it's fun.

  11. Matt Hardy is shite now but the Side Effect is still a thing of beauty.

I also loved that weird thing Brodie Lee used to do where he'd pick somebody up for a suplex, drop them back onto their feet then immediately hit them with an uppercut. Looked disorientating as fuck.

Oh, and the humble snap powerslam might be the greatest move of all time. Whether it's Samoa Joe, Dustin Rhodes or Randy Orton, it always looks brilliant.

  12. I don't watch New Japan either but it makes sense to me. CHAOS have been mentioned tons of times on AEW TV and OC having a long-running issue with the BCC and getting his stable-mate who has previous with Danielson in as back-up seems like one of the more basic storylines they could do.

If it's shit then it will be the fault of Roman Reigns apparently.

Charlotte Flair and Jeremy Corbyn breathing a sigh of relief they're no longer in the crosshairs.

    Dan Head

    Bloody hell, that's a name I haven't heard in a long time.

I'm sure I had a DVD of the FWA Academy - Best of 2005 or something and they were hyping Dan Head up to be one of the biggest stars in the country. What happened to him?
