  1. Not overly thrilled at the thought of another Rollins title reign to be honest but it looks like that's the direction they're going in. Roman continues to be the very best in the business. Love it.

Apologies, Rashers. I’ve been swamped up me plums in it and only getting around to replying now.
Right, even reading back on what I’d wrote there gave me the Hank Evans’. What an awful little, insufferable cunt he is.
So, a brief update on this lad:
***Any question mark you see at the end of a sentence, is verbatim, because everything out of the insufferable little shitepipe’s mouth is stamped with a question mark inflection.

So his missus is about 6 weeks out from having their first sprog, and you’d swear this cunt was the first cunt to ever father a bin lid.
He was on the blower to a customer, and this was the conversation:
“Rachel…umm…my partner? My partner is with child, so we’re expecting at the tail end of June?”
    With child. With bastard child!

“I’ll have to temper my gym work while we – and number 3 – adapt to our new situation?”
It was then, that if ever I was going to throw piping hot black coffee into anyone’s face – that was that moment.

Ah hold on Rashers, there’s far too much…I’m recording a voicey on this so yiz can try and grasp what my poor head is dealing with.

Truth is, I'm not a bad person, I really aren't - and I'm hope in the name of what the good Universe gives us, I'm not a bad person - but this lad turns me into the absolute worst version of myself.

Sorry, but GDPR is null and void. He literally picks his hooter and mills the contents.

This car is also too small for him, his partner and their child:

Amazing how badly designed most of their belts have been in the past 20 years.

My first thought was it's almost as bad as the AEW title for garishness but on reflection I think it's one of their better efforts of recent years. I don't mind the current version of the Intercontinental Title either but their belts have been poor for a while.

Hopefully the first holder will be worthy enough and it'll grow on me. As with anything, we'll eventually get used to it.

It may end up being looked back at as a bad decision, but at this point it's too early to say. Roman Reigns has been, for some time, the most compelling thing on WWE programming - and it's not hard to make a case for him having the most compelling story arc in all of wrestling

Completely agree. At the weekend after one bizarre decision we were too quick to judge but now that RAW was a mess it's fine to judge after one night. Wrestling fans eh?

I think the next few weeks will be a drop off in quality and it'll be chaotic as other things will be happening as the finer, practical points of the deal are worked out so I'm still going to give it some time and I think that is only fair after 1) months of decent booking and 2) a radical structural change to the company.

Vince will be offskii within 12-18 months either through choice, being ousted or the reaper.

There is no way that Cody’s eventual win will get a bigger pop than he would have got. He came out for weeks, hyping it up. Talking about how his dad was never champ, how his dad never headlined a Wrestlemania, that this was the redemption arc. That this is what he came home for. And he lost.

Also I think I’ve figured out the mixed reactions to the nights. Those who only really watch WWE enjoyed it more then those who also watch other wrestling, on that basis I think they are delivering what the audience overall wants so fair play, it just ain’t for me.

I agree that in terms of keeping him as hot as possible, last night was the night. I still think he'll get his run with the belt though albeit it won't mean as much. UNLESS they're booking between now and then is better than what we've had to this point but I doubt it. All good things end eventually.

After my initial 'Fucks sake!' response I actually don't mind the ending too much if it means Cody gets the belt fairly soon.
Cody has the 'out' that all babyfaces need - Solo interfered - and he can chip away at Roman's psyche. 'Everybody saw your face, Roman. You KNOW that one-on-one, man-to-man, you can't beat me.' Six man tag at the next PLE -Bloodline vs Cody, Sami, Owens. Cody pins Roman. Title match for Saudi or whenever. Cody wins the belt.

In between all this you can have further cracks appear in the Bloodline, maybe even have everyone abandon Roman so he HAS to fight alone, I don't know.
I'm hoping its leading to an interesting few months though.

It'll be HIAC at Saudi Mania I imagine now, unless they are going full swerve and having Jey be the one to put him down. But that moment has been and gone as well I think. Interesting choice to continue the bloodline stuff for a while yet though, that does take some amount of balls but as someone else said earlier, there is a bit of mileage left in the tank. Jey/Roman hasn't been resolved properly, Sikoa has a turn in him judging by his actions recently, the main event is never once and done so Cody will get his moment to shine.

This is a worked heel gimmick surely? Saying things like "I am a higher class of person" is classic heel wrestler promo stuff.

It's always a gimmick with them whether it's wrestling MC, band/gig producer etc. They have however ticked off most of the clichés this time around. Toxic indeed.

Hardly. AEW has buckets of underutilised talent.

And couldn't your point be applied to pretty much every roster in history?

    Buckets of them? Sure thing.

And yes it could be applied but AEW doesn't have much going on storyline-wise in my opinion outside of said top stars which, combined with the amount of backstage nonsense and chuntering doesn't bode well.

But I await all these under utilised talents breaking through.

  9. I think it's also the fact they have abandoned the mystique behind the likes of Uncle Howdy that really winds me up. Current incumbent is clearly a different person to the original and the silly entrance music and mask is just ridiculous. They had something mildly interesting but had to ruin it by attaching a silly name to the character and then as has been said, smash all the gimmicks together without any rhyme or reason. Especially annoying as he's said The Fiend and Cult Leader Wyatt are gone for good. Waste of time and money.

  10. Another week and another quality segment involving The Bloodline. This story arc tops Kenny Omega/Adam 'Hangman' Page now. It's incredibly hard to retain people's attention, especially so when the titles have been on the same person for such a long time but Roman Reigns and co. have navigated this beautifully.

I can't remember the last time someone got themselves over on their own and DIDN'T get their moment of glory but it's absolutely the right decision to have RR unbeatable heading into Wrestlemania. I never thought for a minute that Cody would or could be THE guy to end Roman's reign but credit where it is due, he's more than delivered since he came back.

As they're likely to separate the titles again I could see Sami going over Cody, with the help of Jey, as a last nod to being family. I think that could be a satisfying way to get a title on each brand, tie up The Bloodline/Zayn story AND allow Cody to the main man on the main brand.

Bray Wyatt. Good grief. I don't know why he was brought back. The clue hunt leading up to his  with the QR codes etc. was exceptionally well done and kept the buzz going a lot longer than I thought possible but it's all just a Potemkin village, absolutely nothing behind it.

  11. Merry Christmas for tomorrow folks. It's been quite a year on a personal level. I know it can be rough for some but I hope everyone gets to spend some quality time with family or doing something that makes them happy. I'll save the wishes for 2023 until next week so whatever you're doing, make the most of it x

Music for run ins. It can't happen without me getting this ludicrous image in my head of whoever is doing the run in barreling through gorilla screaming "PLAY MY FUCKING TRACK!"

Also "surprise" appearances or run ins when they're already in wrestling gear. If it was genuinely a surprise run in, they'd be in normal clothes surely? They don't wander around Tesco in their pants and knee pads.

Edit - just read @Statto's post above covers the logic behind it.

Cracking pic. How did you meet? Always thought it'd make a great UKFF thread hearing about "How We Met Our Others." Intended play on "How I Met Your Mother."

  14. To think how incredible the first couple of MITB matches were at Wrestlemania compared to what they serve up now is frustrating like most of the booking these last 15 years.

Not buying Theory as a realistic challenger at all either but it's just more of the same nothingness from WWE.

Biggest takeaway for me is how rubbish they've made Rousey look this time around.

If you mean staff working with birth to 5 year olds then you are way off the mark.

Well I'm not as my mum headed up three massive college based nurseries and consulted with local authorities on the changes introduced by the Scottish government and the upshot was funding had to be reallocated to help pay for said qualifications. As a result there was less money in budgets for actual learning materials, less funding available to subsidize the childs places in those facilities and quite a few that had been in the childcare profession actually chucked it because of the hassle and stress of having to undergo university degrees in their 30s, 40s etc. And what changed? Nothing. The skillset and knowledge wasn't any different. The actual standard of care provided dropped for several years as a result.  But that's obviously made up because I'm way off the mark.
