  1. Interesting that they're still teasing split loyalties between Heyman/Lesnar/Reigns. However now that Seth Rollins has been announced as the next challenger to Reigns I can see Heyman costing Reigns the title and Seth becoming a 'Paul Heyman Guy' with Reigns conquering The Beast at Wrestlemania for the 147th time.

Possibly a bit of a stretch but Meltzer reported that Rollins was originally pencilled in to beat Big E at Day1 prior to the COVID issue with Reigns.

Definitely more (canned) cheers for Reigns this week so having him chase Lesnar is the only possible option outside of a title unification match between Reigns/Lesnar.

Charlotte Flair...doesn't even have 'go away' heat yet burying everyone on the mic and in the ring. Unreal.

  2.

Brilliant news but I am stunned there's no broken bones. AEW need to reign it in a bit because there's been three or four instances where shocking and career threatening bumps have taken place and they've not covered themselves with glory in how they've been handled.

  3. Average match but the right time to strap the proverbial rocket to Bron. It'll be interesting to see what happens moving forward all the same, Ciampa has done everything he can in NXT and probably WWE. Bron won't be main roster ready until after Wrestlemania in my opinion.

    Classy tweet and photo though.

People who stand in checkout queues for several minutes waiting, then when they being served and asked for payment decide that's the most appropriate time to look for their debit card that's somewhere in their purse that's somewhere in their handbag.

It's usually parking meters for me. Before lockdown our employer had a subsidised deal with the car park across the road. So for years everyone knew they be paying £6.50 for the day yet at half five there would be queues ten deep because some of my esteemed colleagues were 1) surprised at being asked to pay 2) trying to locate a means of payment and occasionally 3) trying to pay by cash at card only machines.

    Infuriating.

I think that explains how memorable Wednesday was in terms of a show I watched.

Too many more non-event signings and they'll be Impact Wrestling. Wednesday's show was so boring compared to what we're used and it had to level out eventually but I have major concerns about the fact he said in a recent interview that he's had to revise his "4 pillars" and his title plans based on Danielson (agree), Punk (Meh) and Cole (no chance). It's going to happen eventually but I don't like the idea of ex WWE wrestlers fighting over the AEW title just yet.

But Tony seems to have outed himself as a bit of a numpty so I'm not holding much hope for the medium term now.

That could have gone really badly.

The tables in AEW seem to be as bad as some of the wrestlers though. Didn't Baker have three or four attempts at putting Abadon through one without any joy?

Still, that could have ended really badly indeed. And as someone mentioned in another thread, the MJF bump last week was a shocker as well and they've had plenty of close calls and that needs to be addressed before someone is seriously injured.

It’s no coincidence that Cats was released as Covid-19 was discovered.

2021 was probably the worst year of my life, and in 2020 I lost my Dad to Covid. It was an absolute dumpster fire. So I hope this is a much better year for myself, and for everyone who’s 21 wasn’t shit, I hope this year is even better for you.

I lost a couple of family members to COVID in quick succession, all extremely careful regarding the rules and not mixing so it was extremely difficult to comprehend. Completely agree with the sentiment that for everyone, hope things are better than they were before. It's amazing how resilient we are and what we are capable of. All the best for 2022!

  8. That's grim news right enough. It's frightening the rate at which it is now just spreading through the population.

Hope you are all safe and well (as much as can be) and that you get some time with family in the new year.
