Family Fortunes on Challenge this evening.

Les Dennis asks contestants to name "a famous Arthur," and one buzzes straight in to say Shakespeare.

Later, the same team is asked for "a slang word for head," and gives the answer nonce.

One of the best 15 minutes I've ever spent, apart from...well...you know...was watching "Funny Game Show Answers" on YouTube.

Not only does it have the above Arthur Shakespeare, it also features the American equivalent from the 80s, where "Real or Fictional, Name a Famous Willy" is asked and BOOM! The guy is straight in with "Willy the Pooh" which had me in tears.

My hero Willy the Pooh is at 0:53.

The snp have a firm grip on social media and have groups who swarm anyone who speaks against them. I’ve had a few friends fall victim to this. It makes People unwilling to speak up.

It took me ages to send me resignation from the party email, but I’m glad I did it. I’ve been waiting 6 years from my first appointment to get braces on my teeth. August 2016 and I still don’t even have one set on never mind the second and the surgery to follow. How is splitting from rUK gonna fix that?

I also fell victim to this going back 8 or 9 years now when the first "Tories are going to privatise the NHS" headlines surfaced and the SNP went to town on it. The same SNP that authorised a trial of pay for health services in a couple of local authorities. One of their MSPs attended a town hall type thing and really sold the benefits of it. So when I then called them out on Twitter for their hypocrisy and linked the transcript and paper they published on it my DMs went mental and I had all sorts of abuse, including death threats, because I was a "Tory bastard." I'm not, I simply pointed out their hypocrisy. But as has been said, anything that gets out there that they don't like, whether bots or blind believers, they hound people to the point they don't engage any more. Which is eerily similar to what happens in certain countries around the world. There is one official version of events that will always be adhered to.

SNP are doing a terrible job and getting away with it year on year on things like health and education.

I cannot believe there is someone actually acknowledging this. If you read the papers or watch TV up here you'd think the SNP were the second coming.

Having several family members in teaching the absolute shambles the SNP have presided over would be criminal in any other country. Ruined the curriculum. Forced all early education practitioners to go through years of additional qualifications regardless of experience or existing qualifications and what's it achieved? Nothing. The number of kids getting to school that cannot read or write has increased year on year.

And aside from buggering said education and health, after 14 years they still  have no economic argument basis put forward. Ireland did it? Aye. They also had 16% inflation for years and had to be bailed out. Iceland? Why? Oh they are the same size. 14 years and it's just going to be better. It might. It might be shite. But they have made very little concrete arguments for another referendum.

  4. To be fair I think today's vote was probably orchestrated by Boris and JRM in advance (who didn't open our building today to stay in London for the vote) as they would have had a good idea how many votes they'd get in favour.

Having the vote now means that it's done, they take (another) bloody nose for a few days and then he's safe for the next 12 months which gets them through the upcoming by elections and what not.

There is literally nothing that this government can do that will get them unelected and they know it. This means they're back in control of the narrative. The whole thing is rotten to the core but what's new? It's a genius move to some extent.

  5. Similar to my TikTok posts in here a while ago this isn't a Twitter post but also doesn't warrant a separate thread, although a 'Sports Headline of the Year' is definitely in the offing for this absolute gem:

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/61421907

Edit as it hasn't linked properly...headline is "Marcelo: Ex-Lyon Defender Denies Being Dropped for Breaking Wind"

Aye, never told me the guy was his mate after bringing the fucking subject up with me to begin with.

Out of curiosity who has had the biggest meltdown in UKFF history?

Did Tom (now Emma) of announcing  fame not have an absolute barney after the comment about his ex?

  7. As ever, the show was rank rotten and their respective Twitter feeds have been an embarrassment this morning.

How anyone can even work there is beyond. WWE are the modern day, Hogan era TNA.

Not said this for a few years but I'm out. AEW knocks it out the park every week to some extent. So that's where my time is going exclusively.

If he isn’t the biggest babyface whenever he gets back then there’s no hope for this company

If he is the biggest baby-face then what? It makes no difference because everyone knows once the novelty/return push wears off he'll be running around the midcard. His title run was rubbish. His matches in that run, were rubbish. There's no story being told, there's no story to be told. AEW is miles ahead because there's a dozen storylines bubbling away that they can pull the trigger on at any time. A returning hero in WWE will be front and centre for a few weeks then everyone forgets about them. Two years ago Drew carried the company on his back and instead of being a hero, front and centre of the product, he's mincing about with for months on end with Corbin. If you're not Roman Reigns or a part timer from 20 years ago, there's nothing there for you.

Just when you thought you couldn't love Sting any more. This is a great read, very honest too.

Thanks for posting - that was was a fabulous read and a fascinating insight into Sting's mindset. I was never a huge fan of his because I was partisan back in the 80s and 90s and watched WWF exclusively. I never really saw Sting or his matches.

One curiosity that always strikes me with certain wrestlers - having been body builders for a long, long time, at what point do they "give up" trying to maintain a physique? Even going back to his match against Hogan in TNA, when he was still fairly active (also 10 years ago or so) he just looked old and out of shape.

Now I did a lot of training and powerlifting myself back in the day so I totally understand that as you get older, other priorities come along and it is harder and harder to do consistently workout/eat properly. My curiosity with wrestlers though is that when they are getting paid as wrestlers, shouldn't they make more of an effort? I'm absolutely loving Sting's AEW run so far and throwing himself about in his 60s is entertaining...but it still looks like a man in his 60s diving about. A complete ramble off on a tangent but seeing pictures of when he was jacked got me thinking about it.

Austin has been saying for years that he's healthy enough to wrestle again. He just didn't want to.

I know, I know. I have just seen a fair bit of discussion on various sites which are doubting his ability to do so and if there is any doubt, he surely wouldn't agree to a nonsense match or skit or whatever. He's seen Undertaker, Goldberg, Kane, HHH and Shawn Michaels have absolute shockers of final or near final matches in their careers. HBK's final match at Bloodmoney 4 (or whatever it was) was an abomination.
