I got one 2nd hand in the summer. I currently have 7 carts. Just got the lynx ones today and lynx 2 is a great collection, only tried a couple on lynx 1. I enjoy the physical carts (I know I can get those games for free if I looked but I don't care).

    Carts I currently have

    Namco 1

    Interplay 1

    Data East

    Mega Cats

    Oliver Twins

    Lynx 1 & 2.

Really looking forward to Piko 2 and Worms.

I have ordered the Atari Lynx collection 1 as I really want to play Dracula The Undead. Agree the Worms collection looks amazing as does the new Codemasters collection, which has some really great titles on there.

Woolworths used to have loads of these, or at least the Peterlee branch did.

I used to work in Big W (Woolworths) and I remember in around 2004/05 we got a 3 pallet loads of DVD's, Videos, games and even some GameCube consoles to put on the "Racetrack" which was basically a blue line going around the store and would feature special offers etc.

All of these were marked down in price, it was basically EUK (Woolworths, MVC distributor) emptying their warehouse of residual stock. In that lot I brought a fair few WCW videos ranging from 1997 PPV'S all the way up.to Bash At The Beach 2000 all for £0.99.

We made a killing selling some of the stuff on eBay A Doctor Who box set in particular, which included the movies I think, I sold for nearly £30 and only cost me around £5.

  3. Hasn't he had some sort of falling out or disagreement with Tony Atlas as well?  He was rambling on Facebook about it but couldn't quite understand as it was a bit nonsensical.

Although having said that, with the porn story going around I am assuming they have fallen out because he won't wank over his feet of something...

  4. I always thought the WWF missed a trick by not having DiBiase feud with Roddy Piper after the Virgil feud especially as they had matches on house shows and the feud was cut short due to injuries sustained by Piper around the time of Wrestlemania.

On a personal level, I quite liked Money Inc. so I am unsure in a fantasy booking point of view if I would split them up. However, one programme could be a feud between DiBiase and Shawn Michaels, with the former working as a babyface after Sherri double crossed him to join up with HBK.

  5. I can remember seeing WCW Magazine in my local newsagents or WH Smiths and seeing articles on the likes of the British Bulldog and The Nasty Boys, not knowing they had left the WWF.

One thing that I always wondered as a child was where did the Ultimate Warrior, Marty Jannetty go?

I thought that Warrior being off the screen must have been due to the snake bite and likewise with Jannetty, who must have been injured severely by the Barbershop window, but I could never work out why WWF Magazine and magazines like PWI didn't report on this.

I love my Evercade, although I had to return the first one I got as the cartridge slot was so tight the game I bought would not come out.

There are so many great, slightly obscure titles being given a second lease of life on this console and given how cheap it is and how cheap the games are it’s an essential purchase for any retro game fan.

I heard that a few people complained regarding the cartridge slots and a few revisions were made to the console. Currently working my way through Earthworm Jim and then will start on the Dizzy collection.

  7. Really horrible news to learn of.

Can only echo the comments of others, he seemed like a decent man, a family man and had the "look" - The same look that most people think of when they think of a big wrestling star.

Thoughts are with his family. RIP.

  8. A friend of my Nana always used to say "Jesus wept and as well he might" but because of the way she said it I honestly thought that she said "and Willie Might"  I actually thought that good ol' Willie Might was Jesus best friend during his early teen years and I could never work out why he wasn't mentioned during RE classes in secondary school.

  9. I was hopeful when the rumoured tiered section finally come to the Network, one option would be an increase in classic content.

Realise it is subjective, but I would sooner pay extra for classic content with the newer content uploaded on a 30 day delay basis than just having 10 or so episodes of something classic being uploaded every month.

You say that, but then something recently mentioned about Ashley Massaro passing away last year and my first though was, “Only last year?” I thought it had been much longer.

2020’s really screwed up perception of time.

Totally agree regarding perception of time, I have just gone on Wikipedia to look up something about Harley Race and was amazed when it said he died in August 2019, I honestly thought it was this year when he passed away.

Same. Even without the new material, a Springsteen gig is all I could think of to get my spirits up right now. It’s three hours of euphoria. But with the new material? Think it might drain me emotionally for days, in the best possible way.

As an aside, I got this off a mate today who’s just getting into him:

    26FE998E-9C79-41C4-A470-FA2B586E9360.thumb.jpeg.362129b1723fdd433f71d4b0a1f709b3.jpeg

Top TEN? Or even fifteen? I love him dearly but I told him I need a few days. How the hell do you introduce someone to Springsteen with a Nero-burn limit?

I would be interested to hear your choices.

Agree, it is a bit difficult to choose,  do you go with the singles or more famous tracks of more obscure cuts?

Been listening to Magic a lot again just lately, some really wonderful songs on that.

  12. Massive fan of the Boss.

Seen him live 3 times, twice with the E Street Band and once with the Seeger Sessions band.

I have enjoyed reading the thread and seeing everyone's views on best album etc. For me personally my favourite album is Born In The USA, I do think Magic is very underrated album and I really enjoyed Western Stars. I got Letter To You as a Birthday present last week and I never judge albums on the first listens but I think this one will take multiple listens to fully appreciate, which isn't necessary a bad thing. I will say though that the last 4 songs I really enjoyed.

Echo the previous comments regarding  Ghost Of Tom Joad featuring Tom Morello from High Hopes, it is  a really good version.

Speaking of a good version of a song and featuring Tom Morello...

  13. I think if there is another lockdown I can see a lot of people not conforming. It is just a quick fix to get the numbers down for  a few weeks.

After lockdown, numbers will rise again and you could argue that it will put a greater strain on the NHS as you will be coming into a period when generally more people become unwell and require hospital treatment so the 1 December date  (rumoured date of the end of lockdown) will probably be extended if the numbers are not what the Government want them to be.

Until there is a vaccine we cannot just  be expected to go through this process every few months can we?

The effect of a lockdown and the impact it will have on people's mental health and local businesses etc. really needs to taken into consideration as well.

Another thing I have noticed is that the press 'leak' potential lockdown or tougher measures on a Friday probably just so it causes panic and people to go supermarkets and bulk buy everything.

I wondered about this. Would you say it's pretty much bewildering to someone who's never touched the series before?

For me, all the added features and social media aspect of the game is too much. Having said that, I can imagine some people spending hours prior to playing a game working on tactics, set pieces etc. only to park the bus after going a goal up within the first five minutes of the match.

Having said that I am trying to put the time into it but I cannot see me putting 2020 on for an hour on an evening after work like I did with the 2012 version.

  15. This may be of use to someone: Football Manager 2020 (PC) is a free download from Epic Games (Ends 24th September).

First FM game I have played since the 2012 version and I have found it a bit overwhelming.

Also got Mario 3D all stars, not played it yet but looking forward to it.

  16. I always thought that Flair and Perfect in the loser leaves the WWF match should have happened at Wrestlemania IX instead of Raw. But unsure how they would have got to that angle IF the Warrior had stayed, unless they just built it around Mr Perfect being increasingly fed up with Ric Flair.

Warrior staying certainly does put a whole new slant on things and if they did go with the above, I am struggling to see what feud or angle they would put him in, unless it did envolve a heel turn. Makes you wonder how many times the plans changed in an era seemingly, where according to Bruce Prichard they figured out Wrestlemania and then worked backwards.

I too have been properly soured on the eBay experience recently. The last three things I've sold (projector, phone, broken iPad) have all had people try to claim issues to get a discount AFTER the auction. The iPad was sold as broken as for parts and the guy complained that it was broken and sold for parts and wanted a discount.

So yeah f**k eBay I say.

It is so frustrating, wondering if people just do not read the full descriptions etc.

My buyer has messaged me again this morning to advise they still cannot track the item using Royal Mail / Parcel Force, despite me responding on Saturday night to advise that probably we would not be able to track until their next working day (Monday) and to allow it the oppertunity to be processed in their tracking system - the fu*k is wrong with some people?

Can hardly wait till it is delivered to be inundated with messages saying it is broken, damaged or just generally unhappy so can I have a discount. With some people, you just know....

  18. I have recently been selling items on eBay and has been quite a money maker for me, with no problems - Until this week.....

Firslty, sold my Girlfriends brand new GHD straighteners (she knew about it) as she received two at Christmas, they havent been used.

Hair Salon in Manchester brought them and then tried to return them saying that they had been used. When I asked them to confirm the  date stamp on the product (as I took a picture of it before they were sent) they become very defensive, transpires they were trying to return an old product back to me - currently have an open dispute regarding this.

Secondly, sold an item on Wednesday, messaged the buyer thanking them for payment confirmed I would do my best to post the following day (Thursday) depending on my own work commitments but explained that should I not be able to do so, Saturday would be my next day for posting. I received an abrupt message back saying that "They needed it straight away" I nearly responded by saying "Oh, you should have ordered from Amazon using Prime then" but I responded by saying that I do my best to post Thursday.

Item was posted on Thursday morning, signed for delivery 2nd class (as specified on the listing) and tracking reference provided and delivery status updated on eBay about an hour later. This morning, I recevied another abrupt message at 10:36 saying that they had not recieved and wanted to know where it was?

I responded by saying that it was posted on Thursday and should be with him soon, I checked the tracking number about an hour later and saw it was signed for 10 minutes AFTER he sent me the message, so he didn't even bother to wait until the post had been delivered this morning before sending the message.

Lastly,  I sold an item for just under £100.00, buyer messaged me about an hour after the auction had ended and said they would pay the following day and asked when it would be posted.

I responded, thanking them for informing me.  Confirmed I would post on Saturday and I would ensure it was suitably packaged on Friday. I usually go to the gym on a Saturday morning and on the way home I pass a Post Office so it was my intention to post then.

Whilst at the gym this morning, at 9:02am I received a message from the buyer, asking when it would posted. I received another message 90 minutes later asking the same question. I finished my work out and responded to confirm that it would be posted today as per previously promised and I would provide the tracking reference and update the delivery status on eBay this afternoon/evening.

Item dropped off at the Post Office at 11:54 and tracking reference uploaded onto eBay at 15:30 this afternoon and positive feedback left.

I am now receiving messages of the buyer saying that they cannot track the item....

I have responded to advise it was only posted today and it probably will not have entered their tracking system yet and suggested that it we would only be able to tracking from the next working day (Monday).

I have been polite all the way through but I am starting to loose my paitence, I appreciate it is a lot of money to spend etc. But I have  kept the buyer updated and advised of timescales and set expectations all the way through.

So, it appears that my eBay selling is coming to an end as the above three experiences have really soured the whole thing for me and has really opened my eyes at how dodgy, impatient, unreasonable and downright bloody needy some people can be.
