Tried that after my three month probation.  Maybe this Vince guy also works as a manager for a shit warehouse?

Understand what you are saying but this role is hardly the same as a warehouse role or stacking shelves in Asda is it?

I would envision and expect that a role like this or one of similar ilk would have a minimum term of at least twelve months to actually give the person sufficent time to put their plans in place with the end result ultimately being to improve the product on a consistent basis.

But I realise that this is Vince we are talking about, who allegedly looses his shit when someone sneezes in his presence.

  2. Fail to see how anyone can be fully judged in a new role in just over 4 months into the tenure. Guessing he has probably upset Vince somewhere down the line. Must admit though, I thought Heyman would be the first one to do that.

    Top Ranking Tennis- Game Boy

One of my favourite Game Boy games and in terms of gameplay, one of the best tennis games I've played. It wasn't a fancy game, no licensed players whatsoever but it nailed the basics. Made the most of the different buttons for different shots before the other games were doing it.

Top Ranking Tennis is agreat shout. Remember buying this game in America and it remained one of my go to Gameboy games, it was challenging and addictive.

    Games I think are underrated:

Terminator - Dawn of Fate - based on the build up to the first Terminator film. Picked it up in a second hand shop for £1.50 and was pleasantly surprised by it.

  4. I personally loved Powerslam and brought it every month from issue 4 up to the last two years of it's publication (although I did buy the last issue). The look of the magazine hardly changed, which for me was not an issue. However, I think the magazine suffered from lack of other writers in the end, causing most readers to become fed up of Fin's moaning about WWE, John Cena etc. I realise the lack of writers was probably due to budget limitations, but given Fin's health issues as documented in the first eBook, I am surprised that more writers were not used.

Another issue due to the above is that because the same person was editing the magazine issue after issue it become stale. Look at most credit sections in magazines, editors, staff writers change on a frequent basis which freshens up the writing style, view standpoints etc. without having to redsign the magazine.

  5. At the time of watching I was adamant that Vader was going to win the Championship at Summerslam 1996. Never worked out that way but I think it would have worked very well, although a downside is that we may have not got the Sid heel turn.

I always use these threads to say Lex should have got the belt from Yoko at Summerslam 93. Also 123 Kid should've beat IRS at Summerslam 93.

Certain I read somewhere that the loss was punishment for some sort of backstage incident. But I totally agree it made no sense at the time.

  7. Great review gmoney.

I have been watching Raw on the Network from its debut episode in 93' (and Nitro from September 95' onwards) and I am currently onto June 1996.

Jerry Lawler is very annoying when Vince (or anyone else) is interviewing talent by constantly talking over them or chipping in with some comment at the end of every sentence.

I dont know if he has always done this in his career but it seemed very prevalent during this time.

  8. Really sad news, I heard the recent Something To Wrestle Podcast this week and they mentioned that Harley was in a pretty bad way and the way they was talking it sounded like it was just a matter of time, sadly.

As mentioned above, I loved his run with Vader and with Lex Luger in the early 90's. I recently watched a few of his matches with Ric Flair and they were something special.

  9. Personally I do not mind the layout and think it looks a lot tider compared to the old one. The annoyance I have is that certain things are on one platform and not the other! For example I can view colisum home videos on one of my devices but not the other.

In my opinion a watchlist should be one of the essential things on a streaming platform, evidently not.

  10. Stan & Ollie for me.

I am a big Laurel and Hardy fan and I was really looking forward to watching this. In the weeks prior to the release everyone was stating how good Steve Coogan was as Stan Laurel (and he was) but for me John C Reilly was the stand out performer. So much so in fact after about 20 mins into the film I was thinking I was actually watching Oliver Hardy, his performance really was that good.

  11. The Blue Bell in York, a great little pub which if you get more than 6 people in you are struggling for room.

It prides itself on the following house rules "no,swearing, no noisy groups and no stag or hen parties" They do not have any TV's, music or slot machines but it still had one of the best atmospheres in a pub I have experienced, everyone chatting away. The Landlord, John is an interesting guy as well.

On top of this, the Timothy Taylors Landlord is an exceptional pint!

  12. IF it was to happen (big IF) but would there be any legal ramifications in calling it a WCW event as I was under the impression that WWE hold the rights to the World Championship Wrestling including and not exclusive to the name, or have they (WWE) let the trademark(s) lapse?

Used to love Toymaster but i think that was just because the one on Newland Ave in Hull used to have an incredible subbuteo selection back in the early 90s. Like most of these things, it had gone by the time I actually had income.

Rick, was that the old "At Cost" toy shop near the railway bridge?

I use to love that place.

in other shops I really miss the first one that springs to mind is Sydney Scarborough (one for the Hull locals) that really was one of the best music shops in the area, 3 floors of greatness!  I remember getting some quite rare CD's from there as well. I cannot help but think that place would do fantastic business now due to the Vinyl revival.

I also miss Woolworths, however that is maybe more to do with the fact I worked there, rather than shopping and had probably the best 4 years of my working life (up to now) met some great people, some of which turned into very good friends that I still see on a regular basis and it was the place I met my girlfriend.

Fell off my motorbike today while attempting to turn around on a pavement (quite normal here), the wheels slipped out on some wet carboard and i've done something to my knee. I'm guessing a slight hyper-extension. I can walk on it just about with some discomfort and it hasn't changed color or swollen up yet so i'm guessing it's not that serious. Anyone got any idea how long it might hurt for?

I would recommend that you put on ice on it for at least 48hours even if the pain has diminished. Do you have any pain behind your knee?

Obviously you know your body better than anyone but if is not causing you much discomfort then you should be fine after a few days. However, just be mindful of it becoming inflamed after you have done any type of prolonged cardio activity as that may mean a grade  sprain and could take around 4 weeks to heal.

Jake Black, vocalist of Alabama3, has passed away

Saw Alabama 3 play at Welly club back in 2017, a great gig by great musicians and performers. I am pleased they are carrying on but ultimately, it won't be the same.

Nearly had another casualty today, as reading the description of "Goodbye Mog" about did me in.

You are not kidding, such a bittersweet story really. I remember reading that to my Cousin's daughter one time when babysitting and I was nearly in tears after the first few pages!
