  1. Watched Smackdown from September 12, 2002, yes the Billy and Chuck wedding - awful, it was at the time and still is now. Hard to believe that it is only 15 years ago, as to be quite honest the attitude shown by the fans and the comments made by everyone involved is unreal! Then the show ends by Brock threatening a pregnant woman (Sara) if I didn't know better I would have sworn that it was all written by Vince Russo - classy TV folks!

I think they mean bootleg GC games, you can just stick them all on a USB drive.

Oh, right. That's fair enough. Basically all the bootleg games I've heard of are for even older consoles than that.

Yeah Merzbow is correct. I have two hard drives full of gamecube games and as you can use the original Gamecube controller it doesnt seem any different to playing the original game.

Sorry to bump an old thread but where is the best place to obtain Rey's 128 image for RetroPie?

    Thank you.

Not to sound sarcastic or anything, but there's tons of results on Google.

Appreciate that. However, most were dead links or worse still, websites that contained more spyware than a North Korean Government building.

  4. Has anyone every done the Horror Nights at Universal?

Were wondering about whether to bother with it. From what ive seen on videos and pics the houses are pretty impressive as far as their design and quality but ultimately it is basically people jumping out on you for cheap scares? Considering the extra cost on top of already high ticket prices and I hear there are huge queues for a lot of stuff im thinking against it currently. Anyone think theyre a must?

Been to HHN three times (2009,2011 and 2013) loved it everytime. I would recommend getting the express passes if you want to see everything, unless you go on a night after Halloween itself as then the queues and crowds are quite thin.

Whats the recent dealing with Disney getting marvel back from uni in Florida?

I know they are busy retheming the tower of terror over in Cali will we see this happening in orlando anytime soon?

Marvel we're so financially buggered in the 90's that the theme park deal for Orlando was very reasonable but had so many poor clauses in it such as if a character is used anywhere in the island, no other theme park east of the Mississippi can use it and, my favourite, the contract is for as long as universal are happy to renew!

What is interesting is that universal now shift so much merchandise in their stores that disney are still doing ok with the deal, but not as much as they could with their own properties. As far as anyone is aware Guardians is not featured in the restaurant on their walls that Guardians is fair game. Music to the ears of Disney as its one of the most popular franchises.

However, you never know if a deal could be cut in the future just not anytime soon.

As far as I know Disney cannot use certain Marvel charcters, theming for rides etc on the East Coast of America. There was something on a forum a few years ago (around the time of the initial success of Harry Potter) stating that Disney was considering buying the theme park rights from Universal, but I'm guessing they baulked at the asking price.

However, Guardians of the Galaxy is rumoured to be coming to EPCOT to replace the Wonders of Life Pavilion. Although I am not against Guardians per say, it is a shame that a park like EPCOT is loosing its identity.

Frozen has proved how popular sticking an IP in Epcot can be. Big rumours of Ratatouille being copied from DLP to the French pavilion

Tower of Terror in WDW is one of the landmark rides of Hollywood Studios, still ever so popular, so I can't see it changing for a long time. I'll never go on the bastard again though, nearly shit myself. Sat next to a six year old who just stared at me and laughed at my girlish screaming throughout.

I'm with you. I love and hate it equally but the WDW version is so much better then the others so had no concerns with the DL version changing. We did an interview, around October I think, with Mark Silverman who dubbed Rod Sterling for the ToT attraction. Really good insight if you are interested in that attraction. Episode 108 of DaD https://directory.libsyn.com/episode/index/show/disafterdark/id/4787814

Ratatouille has been rumoured for a while around the same time they were talking about the Monsters Inc. door rollercoaster for Hollywood Studios. I think I am just a traditonalist when it comes to EPCOT.

  7. Get the FastPass (or equivalent) package for the rides ... really worth it! :)  If you're planning on going off-site, be sure you know where you want to go & research the easiest route if you're taking a taxi; not saying you may get ripped off, but first-timers anywhere in the USA can be vulnerable to unscrupulous taxi drivers.  Better still, rent a good sized car & get yourself there; driving really is a piece of piss.

Depending on the on site hotel express passes are complementary.

  8. Really enjoyed WWE24, thought it was a great insight into what goes on and into putting on a event like Wrestlemania. The part about leaving the Hall of Fame in the early hours and then straight on to A&T to rehearse, was an eye opener for sure.

For someone who doesnt watch a lot of the current product, I was moved by Zack Ryder's story and the obstacles he has had to overcome.

  9. Its lucky it got anything in the bag at all. Jake left the one he had in England to rot. He's a pure scum bag.

I remember reading about that. Didn't the WWF (The Panda people) go through the courts to prevent Jake from owning any reptiles whilst based in England?

  10. There is a bit in the Cobra attacking Savage's arm angle, when Jake is sat in the corner laughing as they are taking Savage out and the Cobra is sat exactly like Jake, it's probably my favourite part of the angle, absolutely fantastic stuff.

In a side related note, how many people have noticed that Jake accidently stands on the snake at one point? No wonder the poor sod died not long after!

What gaming magazines did everyone buy?

I was a big fan of Total! and still have all the issues to this day.

Maybe showing my age here, but how many people remember this magazine?

    Super_Play.jpg

Indeed! a great magazine, they still go for a pretty sum on eBay. Im into collecting old games magazine and these always seem to go for ridiculous prices.

Yep, I loved Total. Nearly applied to have them round for dinner but didn't want them to see how povvy we were.

Total was brilliant. I would collect them monthly until I moved to Germany in 1994. I think I missed Total more than anything when I lived there. I remember seeing a copy of Total in a supermarket, and sprinting up to the magazine aisle. "Finally, I'm about to get my Andy Dyer fix again!" I thought, then my hopes got dashed when it was all German :(

Moved back to England months later, but the magic wasn't there anymore.

I went off the magazine a bit when Steve Jarratt left to launch Edge Magazine and was replaced by Frank O'Connor, but loved it again when Andy Dyer took over, shame he was only there for about 6 or so issues.

The last few issues were a bit of a mess (and seemingly difficult to find in my local newsagent compared to earlier issues) but in a way I still enjoyed them.

  13. Amiga Power/Format were the two main mags until the official Playstation one started up, mostly for the coverdiscs with this being the daddy of them all.

I was also the nerd that covered his school books in glue and stuck images from the mags on them.. better than leftover wallpaper like some kids.

I remember buying PSM fairly often but the cover price was a bit steep for 15/16 year old to buy on a regular basis, I did buy that one though just for the MSG Demo and after playing it, I couldnt wait to get the full game!
