  1. For anyone interested Smyths toy stores has some Defining Moments figures on sale for £14.99. In my local store were figures of John Cena, Undertaker and Hulk Hogan.

  2. For anyone interested in retro gaming emulation I recommend Hyperspin. I have recently (last 6 months or so) built my own PC tower and installed Hyperspin, running well, just need to sort out some of the kinks in the joypad configuration.

  3. See I'm not keen on that at all, but as I specifically collect Warrior figures I'm going to have to get it to keep the collection going

Think the reason why I like it is because its a mid 92 version of the Warrior with the short hair. Plus, it has Pappa Shango lurking in the background!

  4. Feel this may be the best place to post this, did squared circle gazette "going against the grain part 2" ever surface? I have been unable to find on Podcast and the website.

  5. Watched In Your House 2. I remember it not being on SKY when it originally aired and remember getting IYH 1,2,3 for Christmas that year. With the exception of the Shawn Michaels and Double J (Ha-Ha) the event itself, has not aged not particularly well.

I'm slowly working through WWE PPV's from 1995, )in between watching Raw and Smackdowns from 2001). As a whole the PPV's have not been as a bad as I remembered them to be.

What a great shot, Liz corpsing and Haku just standing there with a blank expression as he's "maced".

Why does Liz always look like she is going to burst out laughing? Even when Randy Savage was being bit by a Cobra, she still looked as though she was going to break out in hysterics.

Discussion of the old model just made me think, what would people consider the first PPV of the modern era structure, where the vast majority (if not all) matches were based on feuds to be paid off at the PPV rather than at the houses. Even in say 92, big stories like Bezerker/Undertaker or Shango/Warrior were never destined for PPV blowoffs, and Mania that year was still following the 'throw two lads together' format and leaving lots of true payoffs for the house shows.

It's a pet peeve of mine when people do columns or podcasts or whatever rebooking shows from that era putting all the TV feuds into big payoffs like that's how the company 'should have' booked them. Misses the point entirely. Those gates paid the bills and told the stories of who should be where on the card, I don't give a shit if you think Savage/Roberts was Mania-worthy.

From what I recall, SummerSlam in 1992 was meant to be all the house show feuds blowing off, but Vince decided to go with a totally different card because the house show business had collapsed that summer.

Did they ever officialy announce these matches for Summerslam? I seem to rember them announcing certain matches only for them to be changed, along with the tag line, "The Summerslam you thought you would never see".

I know it's mentioned a page or so back but I'm still relatively new to the drinking world. Huge fan of Sam Adams over here on tap and similarly Brooklyn larger on bottles, although both not really sold much round here. Can anyone recommend anything else that shares a similar taste that I may find more widespread in pubs?

Luckily there's a few decent American style lagers that are becoming more common now, but if you like them you'll probably like American style IPAs.

Sierra Nevada and Blue Moon will probably be easiest to find, most decent pubs offer at least one in bottles. Goose Island is becoming more readily available as well and has a few varieties. Supermarkets should stock all 3 if you want to give them a try.

Also, if you get the chance, try Neck Oil and Gamma Ray by beavertown (UK/London based brewery), probs mentioned earlier in the thread but if I take someone out for a drink who isn't used to more craft based pints, I tend to get either of these in, bloody glorious.

Not sure about the rest of the UK, but there's at least 5 pubs in Newcastle that have either or both in on tap.

Cheers for these fellas, presuming Kaz was also responding to my question. I've tried Blue Moon (they serve it with a slice of orange, which seems gimmicky, with limited effect to the beer) but enjoyed it from the tap, found it significantly different to Sam Adam's, but in a good way, Sam always comes across as being the nearest thing to an ale, without it being an ale, (sounds silly I know) Blue Moon tasted like a spin on the usual lager we get over here. We've just had a coast-to-coast restaurant open near us down here in Southampton, foods shite but it's all American based as is the bar, so Sam Adams, Blue Moon both on tap as with Budweiser. Budweiser from the tap tastes a million miles better to me than out the bottle, not sure if that's just me but tastes like your drinking a decent beer rather than piss water.

Need to keep an eye out for Nevada, haven't heard of before. Just started drinking IPAs find them really enjoyable and don't leave me with a shitty aftertaste of soap I seem to get with more darker ales, so I'll keep an eye out for American based ones.

If you ever get the chance, try Samuel Adams Octoberfest absolutely wonderful drink.

  9. Is there any wrestler who has quit steroids after another died? Can't think of any other than when wellness started. Rey is at home a lot, Likely trains upper body more than legs due to knee problems. It's not completely unrealistic tha it's natural.

The only one I can think of is Marc Mero. Quite a few criticised him for his anti drug and or steriod speeches after the Benoit incident a few even considered him an opportunist, with regards to his public speaking gig.

  10. I pay £26 for unlimited because I'm on my original package from early 2000s. Gonna hurt in the wallet when I can finally got for lightstream!

You are lucky, they stopped mine in 2012 and placed me on an account where I could only use 100GB per month. I dont recall receiving any notification of this and one month ended up with a whopping bill becasue I had gone over by about 40GB. I eventually got the bill for the extra amount wiped off, but took me a lot of time and emails and even had to raise an Alternative Dispute Resolution and the caveat for that was that I had to change my account, to 350GB and pay £41 a month for whopping speeds of 3.2MBS.

  11. That KCOM for you though. North Korea has got better internet than we do. You still got buffering issues? Might be worth giving the hamster a nudge to get it running again.

The network snuck the Legends with JBL- Booker T two parter on a couple of days ago, haven't seen a single promo for that anywhere.

Its a bit strange as The Classic Content I was attempting to watch was buffering like crazy, but I was able to watch part 1 of the JBL interview with Booker T without much issue, well with the exception of my nightly 10pm internet disconnection, thanks to KC.

I am wondering now if the Network was having issues with the server for the Classic content, rather than the issue being down to my own Internet provider?

  12. I was having problems with 1998 Nitros and their support Twitter told me to log out of the Network, then back in. I was surprised to find that actually did help.

Thanks, didnt work for me personally, but I appreciate that it won't for everyone. I am still having issues with the classic content buffering every 10 seconds, yet I am watching the JBL interview with Booker T and it is playing flawlessly. So, I am wondering if it is an issue with the classic content server rather than my internet provider?
