  1. Oh yeah, so he is.

Could stick that on first, and then do the KENTA thing at the start of the second hour, people will have forgotten the match by then seen as all of Mojo's matches (since the network launch) have been less than 4 minutes

Kidd would be good, and only reason I didn't suggest him is because he's booked in the fatal4way for the belt that night.

Justin Gabriel would be able to have a solid enough debut match with him, but I reckon it could end up being CJ Parker

  2. If KENTA does appear, I'm assuming they will do some kind of angle with someone to set up his first match. As to who that will be I don't know, but it needs to be someone that he can smack shit out of for a maximum 5 minutes. I'm thinking either CJ Parker ("you've wrestled all over the world, causing loads of damage to Mother Earth") or that numbnuts Mojo Rawley

  3. This from Lords Of Pain, so take with a big pinch of salt:

    - WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair will be appearing at next Thursday's NXT Takeover 2 special on the WWE Network.

Flair's role will be to welcome Japanese star Kenta, who will be making his official WWE TV debut. No word yet if Kenta will actually be wrestling.

  4. How much of the old Raw / Nitro shows are available? I'm definitely considering getting the Network when it's available properly over here, and was planning on trying to watch back the entire attitude era, but probably starting back from the very first Raw

As a full run, Raw from the start to early August 95 is on there. There are episodes on there from afterwards (which were broadcast as 'Best of RAW) and there are 10 Attitude Era episodes being added this week, but not sure what timeframe they will cover (I.e 10 consecutive weeks are 10 random picks).

Nitro so far seems to have from the start to the end of 96 minus a couple of episodes (which will most likely be added soon) and it was said that the full of Nitro would be up by the end of September.

Watched the first two Nitros yesterday. The 1hr runtime, and in the modern era with NXT, makes everything so much easier to digest than a 3hr RAW. I've always thought 3hrs every Monday is far too long. You're essentially asking people to watch something the length of The Dark Knight Rises every week, and it just can't be done.

  6. They've since changed that on the PS3. There is the episode and another one that has 'Viewer Discresion Advised' across the thumbnail. Both are rated TV-14, so any edits are going to be very minor.

I'm a little disappointed in The Monday Night Wars series. It's only 3 episodes in and it's already covered the origin of Nitro, The Rise of the nWo and episode 3 is a love letter to the attitude era. Christ knows how they're going to stretch this out for 17 more episodes

  7. I genuinely hope it doesn't happen. That's not me being a "it's not Pantera without Dimebag" guy, it's because the name Zack Wylde keeps getting linked to it, and I can't stand him. One of the most overrated people in the industry

  8. As I've now got spoilers tags, the real reason why Clive Owen isn't in Sin City: A Dame To Kill For is:

Josh Brolin plays Dwight McCathy in A Dame To Kill For, which is his first appearance in the Sin City universe and he gets his face mangled and requires facial reconstruction surgery. By the time he appears in The Big Fat Kill (as shown in the first film) his facial reconstruction is now complete and he has a completely new appearance, that of Clive Owen. Dwight's surgery is referenced by Shelle (Brittany Murphy) in the first film

  9. I've only heard a little bit of King 810. It's Slipknot's early tunes done by Brujeria minus the silliness.

And for anyone hopping for the Pantera reunion, Vinnie Paul has got some BAAAAAD NEWWWWS

Vinnie Paul has slammed fans who want a Pantera reunion as selfish.

Speculation has circulated for some time that the band could regroup with Zakk Wylde in place of murdered guitarist Dimebag Abbott – providing frontman Phil Anselmo and Dime’s brother Paul can settle their differences.

But the drummer tells EMP Rock Invasion: “People are selfish. They want what they want; they don’t care what you want. People go, ‘Oh wow, they can get Zakk to jump up there on stage and it’s Pantera again.’

“No it’s not. It’s not that simple. If Eddie Van Halen was to get shot in the head four times next week, would everybody be going, ‘Hey, Zakk, go play for Van Halen – just call it Van Halen.’

“It’s really selfish for people to think that, and it’s stupid. It’s not right at all.”

And he underlines that his brother’s death rules out any true reunion, saying: “There's a lot of these things they call reunions that aren't really reunions. They've got one dude from the band floating around in them – that's not a true reunion. With Pantera, it'll never be possible.”

  10. I haven't seen the second one yet but "more of the same" is just not good enough when it has been that long in between the two. There's expectations set and ther has to be a good reason to re-visit after so long.

    Saw it today.

The gap between the two films being made had me thinking that there may have been some new techniques used along with the green screen that the first used so well to create the look of the books. It looked very similar to the first one in that sense, which begs the question why it has taken so long for the second film to be made. Watching it, there was nothing to suggest it couldn't have come out 2-3 years after the original.

As for there not being as much going on, that could be down to basing it on one book, that being A Dame To Kill For, whereas the first film incorporated three books (The Hard Goodbye, That Yellow Bastard and The Big Fat Kill).

It wasn't bad, and I thought Josh Brolin was good as he usually is and Mickey Rourke is perfectly cast as Marv but I would have expected something more for a sequal that has been in development for so long.

Also saw Guardians Of The Galaxy, which was a tonne of fun. I don't tend to bother with the Marvel films, but I'd heard a lot of good things about GOTG I decided to give it a bash. Perhaps having not read any of the comics was a good thing, as I then didn't have any kind of lofty expectations for it going in. Chris Pratt was well cast and Big Dave was in great form, and I thought he had the best line in the film where they are talking about metaphors going over his head ("Nothing would go over my head. My reflexes are too quick...I would catch them")

  11.

Might be wrong as I don't have the Network but is it not NOC's 2010, 11, 12 and the EPG is wrong? If it really is three NOC 2010's in a row then that's inexcusable.

I think the schedule is separated into hours, so it's not that it's on 3 times in a row, it's three hours of the show.
No, it was the same show 3 times. I don't know if it differs depending what device your watching on, but the PS3 version just lists the start time in the schedule and they were 11:00am, 2:00pm and 5:00pm.

Supermo's post hit it on the head. With the amount of old RAW they have on there already, they could have a months worth back to back and then show the PPV that it all lead to on a particular weeknight. If you did it with Attitude era stuff, it would great on a Saturday night with the lads and some beers. You could do the same with Nitro when that gets added. There's all of that WCCW and ECW TV that hasn't been added to for ages.

I'm not meaning to sound like a fanboy who though they should have every second of the archive on there, but if they want the network to be any modicum of success, they need to put the effort in, and that includes the livefeed. If your going to have it, make it worth it being there

  12. - The first 100 hours of WCW Monday Nitro will be added to the WWE Network next week.

There will also be an Attitude Era theme with several RAW episodes and new episodes of The Monday Night War series added.

Also coming on Wednesday for Beyond The Ring is the documentary part of Jeff Hardy: My Life, My Rules DVD from 2009

  13. Slipknot have confirmed details of their upcoming fifth album, which will pay tribute to late bassist Paul Gray.

Corey Taylor and co will release .5: The Gray Chapter on October 20 via Roadrunner Records.

The album comes with 14 tracks, with an extra two bonus tracks available on the deluxe edition.

Slipknot made the record's first single The Devil In I available to stream at the weekend.

5: The Gray Chapter is the band's first album since 2008's All Hope Is Gone and their first since the death of founding bass player Gray, who died in 2010.

Gray's widow Brenna Gray gave evidence at the trial of his doctor, who was cleared of causing his death. She also criticised Slipknot during the trial, saying the band didn't help Gray who was battling with addiction.

Slipknot have also announced the Prepare For Hell Tour – a major North American headline run, with special guests Korn and King 810. It kicks off on October 29 in El Paso, Texas.

Corey Taylor says: "We've been waiting a long time for this. Not only do we get to tour with friends who we respect, we've also chosen a band that represents the fury of the future. Slipknot is coming to your town. And hell's coming with us."
