  1. Haha, Can I just say in my defence, I've never actually had a Twinkie, but from seeing them in films, TVs, they look a bit like the Barney Bears I've been eating, so apologies to all offended you weird bastards...

As you were...go and buy some Barney Bears lads...they're on offer in Tesco. You won't look weird buying children's snacks without any children I promise...

  2. The best thing about kids is obviously the food they (and by proxy you) eat. I've just had my 3 year old in tears, because I ate the last Barney Bear bar in the snack drawer.

You like Twinkies? Check out the milk flavoured Barneys...

  3. Cheap crisps are always surprisingly good. Space raiders, tangy toms, onion rings, salt n vinegar sticks, quarterbacks. Hell, even the really cheap Happy Snax I had as a toddler are tasty.

    Co-Op Beefburger Bites FTW

  4. I really expected your post to be weighing in on the bacon flavoured crisps debate. Disappointed!

Ha! Well it's clearly Bacon Sizzler McCoys followed by Frazzles...however I went through a period of annihilating one of those big bags of own brand supermarket bacon rashers every day at lunch in about 5 minutes...you feel so disgusted with yourself when you look down at that orange tinged finger at the end of it but fuck it.

Morrisons update: own brand Midget Gems: 31p = excellent.

Whilst I'm here, I recently bought a Golden Wonder Pot Noodle as they were 50p. What a load of shit. I'll never deviate from the original collusus again...weird considering Golden Wonder used to make the original PN...

  5. I collected EVERY magazine I could, even the small US one (Electronic Monthly?), Edge, CVG (shit paper) and Nintendo Power were my favourites.

This thread has bought up massive nostalgia ( I really don't play anymore), and I don't want to google because that's no fun, but have I made up a game on either Commodore or Spectrum called Colin The Cleaner because that was the bollocks.

  6. I listened to Layers. Royce is a terrible lyricist. I genuinely lol'd several times at some of the terrible lines.

I will check out your other recommendations though, starting with elzhi. Stuff I have enjoyed recently ( not including rtj):

L'orange & Mr lif - life and death of scenery

    Planet Asia & dj concept - 79

    Injury reserve - floss

Link us up to the writing you've been doing recently that you mentioned!

Agreed on Royce Chest, but I was actually really impressed with the album to be honest.

Yeah that Planet Asia album is excellent and haven't checked the Lif one yet but always enjoyed his shit back in the day.

I'll let you know about the writing when it's live

  7. Bumping an old thread as there is a TON of excellent hip hop around which doesn't have the name Run The Jewels. Gems I've discovered recently.

Micall Parknsun-Practising Tag Team Moves EP. Longtime stalwart of the U.K. scene drops a banging release, especially Tag Team feat. Jehst, which has a few wrestling references.

Dabbla-Year of The Monkey. Basically High Focus Records is killing it at the moment and this for me is the stand out release of last year. Pure lyricism.

Royce Da 5'9-Layers. Great album, especially opener Tabernacle

Elzhi-Lead Poison. Album of the year for me. Ex Slum Village member Elzhi bares his fucking soul on a record. Suffering from depression he manifested it into this searingly open album and it's beautiful. For fans of SV, Oddisee, Roots, jazzy hip hop, etc, stand out track is The Healing Process, which id phenomenally good.

There's tonnes more I've missed, but that's what stands out for me.

  8.

Monkee, are you any cop at sales? I could probably sort you something out if you are, especially if you've got B2B experience.

Not really to be honest. I'm not very convincing. I appreciate the offer though and depending on the next week or so I might actually have to change my mind so I'll let you know. Thank you.

B2B sales is a piece of piss Monkee. I'm a terrible 'sales' person but I've done alright at it. Turn away from marketing and join the dark side...

  9. Some of your reading habits are impressive, especially Gus's as its all heavy non fiction as well, which I really struggle with.

At the moment I'm re-reading The Corrections by Franzen (I have a stack of unread books but fuck it, I'm going for a comfort blanket) and I've started the Percy Jackson series with my eldest. Really enjoyed the first film and the books seem decent enough.

    I need some inspiration...

  10.

Right, I'm listening to Something to Wrestle With for the first time, and it's good. I don't really know much about Bruce Prichard but like listening to him.

Quick question: who is Conrad? As in, where does he come from, wrestling wise? How is he connected.

He used to pay wrestlers to hang out with him at his house and a few of them subsequently decided to become "friends" with him.

    https://ukff.com/topic/131924-wrestling-pod-casts-radio-interviews/?p=3071000

Ha! So he basically pays to host these podcasts? He's never had anything to actually do with wrestling?

  11. Apologies if this has been posted before but I've only just found out about it. Guardian Football Weekly producer Ben Green and Guardian Sport writer Jon Ashdown have started their own wrestling based podcast called The Parts Unknown, with a review of the UK tournament and chats with Triple H and Regal.

  12. It's a disgrace how 1000's and 1000's of tickets go on sale at other sites at sometimes 3x the price rather than available at the correct price to fans. Is Eddie Hearn in on this? This should be illigal.

It's only a criminal offence to resell football tickets. Incredible isn't it?

  13. Vincent has been my mancrush for years now, even back in La Haine he was just super and he seemed to fit his character perfectly like De Niro did with Travis Bickle.

But yeah, have fun with Part 2. I found it to be just as good as the first.

Yeah love La Haine, and as Mesrine, he's just menacing. You believe he is that character and I don't mean that in a wanky Method/Day-Lewis way, because I don't actually believe you need to go to those extremes to be a good actor, you just have to, you know, act.

You seen Dobermann? Was a silly film, but I enjoyed that as well. Fuck it, I'm going on a Cassel binge.

  14. Watched Mesrine: Killer Instinct last night, and about to pop on Part 2.

Vincent Cassel is such an underrated actor. He is genuinely in my top 5 of all time, guy just oozes charisma and believability in every thing he does.

For those who haven't heard of it, it's based on the life of Jacques Mesrine, one of France's most notorious criminals.

Seek out, hopefully Part 2 is just as good.
