I actually found that to be a really entertaining PPV to be honest, heel gets handed the belt by the heel owner. The cocky heel agrees to defend it immediately but loses, the new champ has to have his scheduled match and defend the title before the scheduled stipulation match is forced on to end the show and the cocky heel walks away. It was a lot of booking in one show admittedly but it still stands out in my mind as an event.
Maybe I need to rewatch it, I'm probably bitter at getting my hopes up for something monumental and being disappointed and paying out my hard - earned cash for the privilege.

Anybody remember the "Dizzy" series of games by the publishing team Codemasters? If you're under 30, you'll never remember them for some reason. Absolutely brilliant games. One that was like a "Pacman" type game was a bit shit but nonetheless brilliant games. Should be a remake.
Yes! I voted for Fantasy Island Dizzy in the Top 50 Games poll. Loved them.

I think it was No Mercy 2007, after Cena tore his pec. I bought the PPV, thinking WWE might do something good to crown a new champ - a battle royal, maybe, or a one-night tournament, maybe a gauntlet match...
Nope, Vinnie Mac just hands Randy Orton the title, to lose it straight away to Triple H, to lose it back to Randy later that same night. Three title changes on a B-level PPV, when it could have so much better.

One of the replies to Richard Osman's tweets points out that if The Wonder Years was made now with the same difference back to childhood, it'd be set in 1999.

Someone once described classic rock bands to me as 'Led Zepellin, Queen and Oasis.'
This person was 24 years old.

Would also be a good way for me to get silence in a classroom when teaching.
There was a story a couple of years ago of someone actually doing this. A Game of Thrones fan who'd read all the books told his class he'd write the name of the next character to die on TV if they misbehaved:

Goldberg vs Ziggler just confuses me. Goldberg surely has about a handful of matches left, and you waste one of them on Dolph cunting Ziggler? I hope he spears him out of WWE so he can fuck off with his abhorrent comedy routine until the end of time.
To me, it makes perfect sense. It's not going to be a 20 minute match. It's going to be Goldberg hammering Dolph in under two minutes and looking a million times better than Saudi Arabia. Dolph is beyond the point where he's harmed by losing to a part-timer and his bumping will make Bill look great. Everyone will hopefully forget all about the Taker match and we can all pretend it never happened.
Now watch them have a 30 minute Triple H at Mania match, because WWE.

Showcase mode is following the Women's Evolution, focusing on Charlotte, Becky, Sasha and Bayley.
They're going to be well pissed off if Sasha doesn't come back. It'll be like 2k15 (I think? MIght have been 14) when it followed Punk vs Cena and Punk had already quit.

I'll chuck in Jeff Hardy's tearful farewell in 2009, after he lost the 'Loser Leaves Smackdown / WWE' match in the cage with Punk. Gives an emotional farewell, apologising for everything that Punk chastised him for, the failed drug tests, the letting down of the fans. Waves goodbye.
Punk comes out and blasts him with the belt from behind. Just lovely shithousery.

Roddy Piper promising to the Mexican fans that, by way of apology, he would play the Mexican national anthem on his bagpipes, letting the anticipation build, and then playing "La Cucaracha".
Don't even have to have seen it. That's spectacular. Evidenced by the riot that followed.
Is there footage of this anywhere? I need to see it!

Watched that Roman video with the falling shelves, fuck me LOL. That could have been wrestlecrap at its finest, but Roman no-selling it killed it dead. Not only was it gobsmackingly badly shot, it did fuck all to get Roman sympathy. He just shrugs everyone off and walks away like a moody prick. Plus the dude was nearly killed, where's the anger? Wheres the urgency? Just made him look like a tit.
My favourite bit of that was the EMT's arriving and yelling at him not to move - by which time he's already dragged himself from underneath it and is kneeling there with his usual face on.

A GM mode that they used to have. And a submission mode that means I don't lose to an armbar less than a minute into a match.

Since the update, my Fire tablet won't play the Network. Any recommendations for a decent, reasonably priced tablet that isn't an iPad?

@Grecian you sure you're not meant to post the unpopular opinions thread?
The Goldberg return (2016) was superb and well played.
Therein lies the difference. When it was first announced Bill was on his way back, I didn't particularly care, to be fair I wasn't a huge fan of his anyway. I happily admit his return ended up being a hell of a lot better than I thought it would be, but it didn't make me pop. And the less said about his match with Taker, the better.
-
I don't think there's a single living return that would make me pop. The last one that I properly went for was The Rock in 2011, mainly because I fell for their bluff of showing a lady's feet getting out of the limo before I sat there for the next 20 minutes with a huge grin on my chops, watching Rock show everyone else how to promo.
Since then, nothing. Jericho's numerous returns got old quickly, I couldn't give a rat's ass about Ryback, Goldberg or virtually anyone else mentioned on this thread. Even if Dean Ambrose quit AEW and walked out as No 30 in the rumble next year, so what? He phoned it in for so long, I stopped caring. There are very few wrestlers that I actually care about anymore (mainly Undertaker but he's wearing that out, New Day and Bray Wyatt) that the thought of not seeing Kevin Owens or Sami Zayn for a few months and then suddenly seeing them again out of nowhere does nothing for me.
I guess it's part of wins not mattering any more, or the total lack of character development any more. Why should I care about Zack Ryder? Who is he? Why is he wrestling? He's been in WWE for over a decade and all I know about him is that he likes action-figures... and that's it. That's nowhere near enough to make me care any more than I did when Eve booted him in the nuts. Guys like Carlito, Chris Masters, Kennedy, any of the guys from the Noughties - I've not missed them one iota since they left or got Randy Ortoned out of a job, why would I care now?

Count me in again.

Ezekiel Jackson. For the time I saw him accompanying The Brian Kendrick at a house show in Cardiff and yelled something about how Kendrick sucked. I got 'the look' from Mr Jackson and promptly hid behind my wife. A truly terrifying guy when he looks a bit pissed and might actually tear your head off.
