  1. Fuck me Mideon held a singles title in WWE.

The little Hacksaw run with the TV title was a guilty pleasure of mine.

I’m going to throw in RVD beating Cena for the WWE title. I didn’t mind the Edge interference as that was the wider program but the fact that Heyman made the count just made the whole thing feel like it wasn’t going to count and they were just going to scrub it out on Raw.

Earthquake in 2001 just seems weird to me.

Was there genuinely any plans for him to come back then or was it just a one off deal?

When did his run as Golga stop?

  3. Ok inevitable discussion then . . .

    Who’s got the best SSP?

Ricochet’s is a thing of bloody beauty, ditto Osprey. Just feels weird to say they’re the best given it’s not their finish. London Calling or Evan Bourne’s were great too.

My favourite thing about the London and Kidman tag team was London having to use a 450 instead of a shooting star to be different from Kidman. Even though London’s was wayyyy better.

  4. So Joe has to be the only one of that list who can realistically complete it? None of those guys are going back to Impact Wrestling, RVD isn't picking up the ROH title and an Aries WWE title run seems pretty unlikely.

That is such utter, utter dross. You come off sounding like Alan Partridge, and not in a good way. Blaming Colt for any of this is proper shit, and I'm not even a big Colt fan. Punk used his Colt's very big platform because he was a trusted mate and, at the time, it was arguably the world's most popular wrestling podcast. Colt had a guest, the guest spouted off, the guest should shoulder all the heat. The host of the show shouldn't even come into this mess.

I can absolutely see why Colt would be pissed, especially if Punk said that he'd cover all the costs only to bill the poor fucker at the end of a lawsuit that he should've had no business being involved with anyway. Get to fuck.

I don't think you're even the real Johnny Vegas either.

To be fair Johnny Vegas isn;t the real Johnny Vegas either.

Yep, Miz had Barrett in the Figure Four and Axel pinned him. Such a great little match.

OK I hate this finish as it's one of wrestling's illogical moments. If someone is in a figure 4 and has their shoulder's on the mat the referee counts. So surely Miz and Axel were both pinning him?

Yeah, this is a valid point. Although as shit as Lashley is, at least there's something there for me to watch. For a heel to work the fans will want to see them get their comeuppance. I don't want to see Baron Corbin get his comeuppance, I just don't want to see him at all. The Miz is probably the best example of a truly decent proper heel over the past several years.

Daniel Bryan as a heel has probably even surpassed the Miz at this point. Christ imagine saying that a year ago.

  8. I have been defeated at Table Tennis by Commonwelath Games Gold Medlaist Andrew Baggaley.

I have also been defeated in a legitimate schools competition at Long Jump by European, Commonwealth, World and Olympic Gold Medalist Greg Rutherford. (Whom I have also beaten in two football matches . . . so needless to say I had the last laugh)

I've just watched WCW between Fall Brawl and Halloween Havoc 97. It's fantastic.

    - Flair gets fucked by Hennig in a shitty turn for the sake of a turn but then disbands the Horsemen and cuts a MEGA promo on the October 6th Nitro. "I am arguably, ARGUABLY the best WRESTLER ever. But I don't wanna wrestle you, I wanna fight!". Just great stuff.

    - Hall is a complete bastard to referees and Zbysko. Him and Syxx are just two twats you want to smack. He has Luger at Havoc with Larry as the ref.

    - Piper is back as acting Commissioner. Whatever that is. But he wants Hogan in a cage. The day after Hell In A Cell he screams that this will be the biggest and best cage match ever. Hmmm, not sure about that Rodders. Hogan comes down for a proper face off between two masters of the mic - and it's a great hype job. Piper steals the belt and swings it like he's throwing the Hammer.

    - Eddie Guerrero is a complete greasy cunt. He's the Cruiserweight Champ, but Mysterio is after him. So Eddie tries to tske of Pyschosis' mask to threaten Rey. They'll face off in a title v mask match that probably might be worth a watch.

    - DDP is over like Rover and left Savage in a neck brace after a Diamond Cutter to the floor. It's the decider in their six month feud.

    - A bloke called Goldberg has just debuted. He seems promising. The crowd are already molten for him and he's had three matches. It's amazing when you present someone as a big deal then the crowd view them as just that. He proper fucked up Scotty Riggs on the guard rail though. Stiff old chap is Bill.

It's basically wonderful watching. The two hours just fly by.

Havoc 97 is an absolutely stacked card.

That Guerrero vs Mysterio match is probably my favourite ever.

Everything they hit looks crisp as fuck, the storytelling with Guerrero tearing at the mask, even the mask being part of a body suit so Guerrero can’t take it off is genius. Plus Heenan puts over Guerrero like crazy on commentary.

    It has everything.

Doubt it, he flat out refused last October and they had to take him out of the World Cup as a result

Can't see what's going to have changed his mind over the last 6 months to make him go this time

THe mainstream media are bored of the Saudi’s right now. This WWE won’t even make news unless there’s another incident that interests he west between now and then

Ah, it sounds like they're cycling trainers between the PC's and I'm convinced that's Ohno's primary role. Doesn't do any harm that he's got a history of great matches with a few of the NXT UK roster, Walter and Mandrews in particular.

That Mandrews match in Progress was legitimately one of my favourite live matches ever. Crowd were electric every time Mandrews wouldn't stay down.

You could, and no doubt they would if they had a narrative reason for it, but for the most part they want the three-way drama at the finish so they'd not want to use a DQ to make it a singles match. And triple threat matches started being used a lot in the attitude era, where it gave them a reason for chairshots and whatnot. They could still do it as a rule change, I'm just not sure what it would gain.

Remember the Triple Threat where Austin was in the Crossface and the Walls of Jericho at the same time and was tapping out. They could have used the elimination rule there but the ref waved it off and kept the match going because he couldn't declare a winner.

Fast forward to NXT. Sami Zayn, Samoa Joe and Baron Corbin are in a triple threat. Same thing happens. Ref ends the match amid confusion (leads to the awesome Sami vs Joe 2 out of 3 falls episode).

As long as they keep it consistent I don't care.

That's anything but awful, piece of art that is.  As a 7 year old I would have done anything for that!

Agreed. That’s sensational. Jake’s stick is a snake for crying out loud!?

We had a kid who’d been to a training school at Woodford Leisure Centre where WWF had send The Hardy Boys and Lita over to help train people. He then had a Hell In A Cell match with Jeff Hardy...at a fucking Leisure Centre!

    ”Bullshit!”

”Well, how do I know that Lita’s real name is Amy then?”

”But I know that. You can find that anywhere on the internet in a matter of seconds”

He must have felt really foolish when Jeff Hardy said he’d never been in a Hell in a Cell match and that was his goal.

Exposed the hole in the otherwise watertight Leisure Centre story

Seems a very unprecedented step by WWE to tweet about his situation. Does that mean they know he's taking a hiatus and will be back or maybe he's making a career change. Very strange otherwise.

This just made me think is has to be leading into some sort of angle. Either incorporating the fact he’s leaving so he just goes full lunatic or that he ends up not leaving at all.

I still can't get my head around the idea that Elite are going to be able to pay anything near what a Dean Ambrose earns working 50 weeks a year for WWE. I know the wrestler's personal circumstances are always going to play a part in any decision if, for example, the house is already paid for and there's plenty in the bank already, you might be able to say "fuck it, I don't need to earn much more, let's roll the dice."

Deano's an odd one. On the one hand you'd say "missed potential" but then you remember he was WWE champion (briefly) during the "one champion" spell, so... how much further would he ever have really gone with Reigns and Rollins also around?

If they had pulled the trigger on him and had him either win the Royal Rumble or the Road Block match against Triple H at a time he was over as fuck, had the match with Lesnar be a title match (hopefully had Brock not just shit on him) I still think he would have been a made man.

But no we got Roman being booed against a heel authority figure getting monster pops.

    Good job everyone.
