    I struggle with this.

I’m enjoying the Sami Zayn story more than anything I can remember really, but I don’t think it needs Mania as it’s arbitrary end point. It doesn’t elevate it, and I don’t think the WWE owe us a Sami title win at Mania if they don’t see him as a main event option. I just want them to continue telling the story well.

Cody whilst not as hot as Sami right now, has a prestige back story that will lend itself to peaking at Mania. I’ve got no beef with both things interacting.

To be honest, I know it hasn’t been for years, but I still see Wrestlemania as the logical end point for long term stories. It should, in theory, be headlined by the most anticipated match, and I honestly can’t see anything coming even remotely close to Roman vs Sami at this point. Like I said, I know it’s a bit of an outdated idea, but it feels mental that they’ve built up this match for so long and they’re about to wrap it up the month before Wrestlemania for fucking Stardust of all people.

OK I’m being harsh on Cody there. I’m not much of a fan but I know he’s super popular so no issue with him main eventing in general, just not now.

Ah apologies you’re right. But also people had gotten over that by the time it came down to Batista v Reigns.

I don’t think they had gotten over it, they just really didn’t want Batista to win. If Roman had won, I reckon they’d have still been chanting for Bryan relentlessly over the next few months and the Roman backlash would have just started a year early.

  3. I didn’t realise we had so many WWE shareholders on here. It’s the only explanation I can think of why some people would prefer a “good business” decision over something they would actually enjoy more.

I couldn’t give a fuck if Sami winning the big one ends up being a bad business decision. The emotion in that 30 minutes or so is far more important to me than how much Vince will sell the company for in a few months.

This was posted, and discussed, in this thread around 12 hours ago. Unfortunately, in those 12 hours the replies havent improved at all, and are still unfunny.

    Come on now…

That was brilliant mate, really funny and VERY UKFF in places. Well done.

Honestly my entire sense of humour is based on 10-12 years of visiting this forum.

Well done you handsome devil, lovely set. Interesting use of a stage name to hide your real name of Slapnut.

No idea why they decided to name me that, they absolutely hate Jeff Jarrett.

  6. Over the last two months I’ve been doing a stand up course with donations going to Cancer Research. I had the fortunate honour (or unfortunate responsibility) of going on last which certainly didn’t help the nerves, but the adrenaline rush as soon as I got that first laugh was unlike anything I’ve ever felt. Certainly something I’ll be looking to do more of, and I’ve been preliminarily offered a spot at a fairly established local night which is great.

Posting the video mainly to prove people actually laughed.

  7. Superdrug. I didn’t mind it until a few years ago until I had a severe diabetic low blood sugar episode there and almost passed out, and then spewed all over the floor after downing two bottles of coke within a minute. One of the staff members had her arm around me while I spewed and then wiped my mouth for me, which is obviously very caring, but I was 27 at the time and it made me super uncomfortable.

Also, Peacocks. I don’t understand what vibe they’re going for in there. They’re also the TNA of shops in that they’ll survive anything. The one in Caerphilly is basically down a back alley and I swear it’ll outlive me. I don’t trust it.

    Wales were so unlucky

I’d say useless rather than unlucky. Some absolutely baffling decisions made, like taking off AWJ and Faletau during Tipuric’s yellow card. Just utterly thick as fuck.

I read earlier than this is the biggest lead we’ve had that we’ve gone on to blow. 21 point lead that we spaffed away. The largest before today was 17 points.

Apparently the WRU have held talks about bringing Gatland back until the World Cup, bring it on. Goodbye Pivac you useless shit.

Girlfriends dad wants a home brewing kit for Christmas. Is there any particularly good ones for a beginner? I know he likes bitter and probably doesn’t give a shit about trendy IPAs and things like that.

Can’t speak for the end product here, but this kit has everything he’ll need starting out. I’ve used this website quite a lot and they are very reliable.

  10. I flat out don’t understand this Jeff Jarrett stuff. I know he’s popular on here, and admittedly he’s one of my least favourites ever so I’m probably not going to enjoy it anyway, but why is he waging war on AEW? There’s no solitary part of that segment I understood whatsoever.

The reveal of the chap under the Sting mask was funny though.

He’s pretty much made it clear it’s the infrastructure and not what’s on the telly that’s a disaster. The “Boys club” nature is not a solid structure.

Apologies if I’m missing something obvious, but I’m simply not understanding how it’s a disaster. I’ve not referenced anything on telly so I understand that’s not what David was referencing, but aside from petty backstage drama it all sounds like it’s going quite well from a business standpoint doesn’t it? For instance, it’s only been reported in the last few days that Warner Brothers want a long term deal with them. They have a successful TV show on a pretty major US network, and a billionaire backer. Apart from Tony Khan being a bit of a wet lettuce and potentially letting the boys run things a little too much, how is it a disaster?

  12. By what metric can it possibly be considered a disaster? The CM Punk/ Elite stuff is a total shit show, but they’re a ratings success with virtually unlimited money behind them. What exactly spells disaster to you out of curiosity?

To me without the bloodline story you have mid carder Sami with the big belt and no idea what happens next.

I’m not following this logic. Wouldn’t this apply to anybody who beats Roman? They’d still have to come up with something for McIntyre, Sheamus, Gunther, Lesnar, whoever ends up beating him. Why would this be any different with Sami?

If it means I never have to hear the words “pipebomb promo” ever again, I’m all for him leaving the industry completely.

Why would him leaving the industry put that term to bed? He already left the industry for 7 years and it was all over the place.

Is Shawn Spears injured or just (thankfully) off TV?

See, now there’s somebody who I had no interest in seeing in AEW who I’ve done a complete 180 on. He was knocking it out of the park as MJF’s dickhead sidekick during the Punk feud and in the build up to the Wardlow stuff. Miles better than he was as the bloke who used to say ten.

  17. 18 minutes ago, d-d-d-dAz said:

Take the point but he’s a superstar that everyone from ITV to BBC to nameyournobhead wants to get into bed with. I can’t blame WWE for wanting to get involved.

That doesn’t change my opinion on him being a cunt and not somebody I’d like on my telly, unfortunately. I’m not a shareholder so it affects me in the grand sum of fuck all.
