Similarly, home made porn where they've left the telly on in the background or failed to get the pets out the room first.

I watched a porn once where it was obviously filmed above a corner shop as that buzzer/bell thing was going off every 30 seconds. Rather than concentrate on the old vinegar strokes I got too distracted thinking about what deals they had on that made the shop so busy.

Not really. Most weapons - chairs, tables, ladders, bins, ring bells, and so on - are things that would conceivably be available at wrestling shows for a variety of reasons.

The ring bell seems to be the most logical weapon to be found under or around the ring. The announcer's table has got smashed how many times in wrestling history but they've never dug out from under the ring as a replacement for example.

I don't like to look into these kind of things too closely as they're just "wrestle-isms" and part of the crazy world of wrestling that we all know and love. Logic goes out of the window to a point. Can't deal with the sledgehammer though. You're trying to hurt your opponent and win a match, not murder them.

Nothing much has changed.. the bunch of moaners us wrestling fans are even then

I was thinking this recently when I've read people moaning about the Performance Centre Era. Like it's obviously not the greatest period of wrestling, but you can look back and see shitness throughout the years from any time.

  4. I like Dolph Ziggler. I know that's not something to admit on here and he is perennial loser but I think he's great. I don't keep up with today's product like I used to and tend to watch bits and bobs but I always enjoy his work. He suffers from just being there and if he had taken time off for a prolonged period then would be held in higher regard.

I’ve not seen them in supermarkets for years.

The missus was kind enough to purchase a couple of boxes of them from Heron Foods not long ago. Still absolutely lovely and were not tainted by starry eyed nostalgia like a lot of things are when you have them as an adult.

Well, it had to happen one day. A crisp has defeated me. The Walkers Max Strong Jalapeno & Cheese are WAY too hot. Ridiculous amount of heat which massively overpowers the flavour.

I couldn't even finish the bag and am disgusted with myself.

    Lightweight.

I'm not really a massive fan of Walkers Crisps in general but I do love these ones. I've found that you do get the odd packet of that tend to be a touch spicier than they usually are. But yeah, they're a winner for me.

Am I being overly cautious and paranoid or have people forgotten how bad this all was?

No. You're being sensible. A lot of people seem completely oblivious to their own levels of stupidity. Even prior to the mask rule (which should have been put in place a heck of a lot sooner), you'd see people in the aisles of shops doing stop and chats not giving a fuck about social distancing or other people.

The only reasoning I can think of why people are so keen to get on with stuff is that it's been utterly depressing for the last few months and people want some semblance of normality. This isn't me condoning the ignorance of a lot of folk, more just trying to understand it.

  8. After reading through this thread I feel like I may be the only person in the world that's enjoyed this event. Saying that I'm currently watching it and am still yet to watch Bray/Braun. It's been a real mix of hokey shite which I've enjoyed and good matches. It feels almost like it's been booked to tick a lot of boxes but reaction wise it's not done the trick.

  9. Face masks won't be mandatory at all. It's a paper tiger like most things in this country are. I'm on the bus home now and there are two bellends without a mask on. One of them is a repeat offender for it. I raised it to the bus driver and emailed the bus company and nothing at all. Its these sorts of idiots that I hope genuinely get Covid.

I never connected with The British Bulldog Davey Boy Smith's heel attitude era run.

The stone washed jeans and black boots never got over with me either.

Whether he was a heel or face, Bulldog felt really out of place in 1999 in general despite it being less than two years since he left.

  11. When did Michaels start getting called "Mr Wrestlemania"? I felt like I only first noticed it some time around the mid 00s, possibly in the build up to his match with Kurt Angle at 21. His back catalogue is pretty good to be fair, even though I love how WWE like to make the Iron Match out as a classic whilst most fans find it as dull as dish water.

Anyways, back to the topic. The Miz had a terrible run as one with Ric Flair as his manager/mentor back in 2013. It just didn't feel right at all and I couldn't get into it. There was also a spell around the earlier part of the noughties where Edge turned babyface onto just give up and turn heel again a week or two later.

Everyone from Leicester are just going to drive to another town/city aren't they. They can't possibly stop or control that, can they?

Working near Leicester town centre and it's still busy out. Combine wishy washy messages from the government and combine it with general stupidity and you'll have the kind of ignorance you can currently on the streets of L-Town.

You're missing the point completely. Predators in wrestling, and elsewhere, have got away with it for so long because victims are afraid to speak up, whether it's because they are afraid it will harm their career or, more pertinently, because they don't think they will be believed. So while a single incident may well be a non issue at the end of the day, it's important that people do come forward with these stories so other potential victims have the confidence to tell their stories, which might be considerably worse.

I don't feel like I'm missing the point at all. I fully applaud true victims that have had the courage to come forward with their stories and exposing the real scumbags out there. But I don't think it's in good taste for people to jump on the bandwagon as it has the potential to dilute the real issues out there and tarnish people's names.

  14. Are we assuming that he knows they're underage? The girl says she overheard that they were asking people to get them drinks earlier on. And I'm not picking holes in stories at all. I'm just saying this particular one isn't really the same as other ones that are truly terrible.

  15. It's great that most of the country has made an effort with social distancing for the last 9 weeks so that we can have people necking Stella, pissing on memorials and scrapping in the streets. Roll on second wave.

It's not fucking dictatorship. These are commercial decisions made by corporations. Heavy handed unnecessary knee jerk reactions in some cases, yes.

They are and these sort of reactions are counterproductive to what people are looking to achieve. All these things will do is further a racial divide rather than bridge gaps in society.

  17. I think going down the road of taking these kinds of things down is quite a dangerous one and sets a precedent for all kinds of censorship. Obviously I don't want to live in a world where hatred and prejudice is spewed out but surely context needs to be taken into account. And where is the line drawn? What about music? There are countless songs I've heard in my life that have questionable lyrics relating to homophobia, advocating drugs, violence, misogyny, etc. I think whilst the intention is honourable with censorship and pulling things, we have to be careful not to get to swept up in the things as all it does is strengthen the argument of the 'PC Gone Mad' brigade.
