  1. 9/11 I was on holiday in Cornwall. Found out what had happened by walking down the street in St Austell and seeing the image of the smoking tower on a TV in a shop window. Went pretty much straight away back to where we were staying and put the news on and watched it for most of the next couple of days.  We were in a chalet on a reasonably large holiday park and there was a noticeable change of atmosphere on it.

With Diana it happened overnight and I was supposed to be at work the next day. Went in as normal but we closed up after a couple of hours as it became very obvious very quickly that this was going to be the only thing anyone was going to be focused on, certainly not buying sandwiches and drinks we were selling. Personally I'm not interested in the royal family and this for me was just some extra paid time off work.

The first thing I really remember making an impact on me was the Iranian Embassy Siege in 1980. They showed the end of the siege live on TV, which was unusual for the time. The SAS guys storming that embassy was something that really captured my attention. I was only 7 at the time and for whatever reason it really stuck with me.

  2. Jamie Oliver fan and doesn't like Dad's Army, you will be shouting BREXIT MEANS BREXIT soon you Big Spuddy Ha'porth.

The perfect person to play Jones was Mark Heap, but he had already played him in that TV movie from last year, which was very good btw. We're Doomed: The Dad's Army Story, in case you want to check it out.

The perfect Wilson would have been Bill Nighy, but he was in the Dad's Army film in 2016, which wasn't that good.

  3. Wonderful work by Del Boy there. Telling Regis Prograis that no one has ever heard of you and no one gives a fuck about little guys. Could have been channeling Vince McMahon right there.

  4. M K McKinnon was one of those guys who didn't wrestle to his size, which would have admittedly been difficult because he was fucking tiny, had some of the least threatening strikes you've ever seen and had a look that said that the Milky Bar Kid was lounging by the pool on the Italian Riviera.

I saw him wrestle for Southside a couple of times, one of those was at one of the SpeedKing tournaments where he had a match that seemed to consist of mainly shit suplexes, shit strikes, and a suicide drive that almost made me want to commit suicide.

I think it's safe to say I'm not a fan.

As for Southside, they put on some good shows, Ben seemed like a decent bloke for a wrestling promoter and I hope he continues to be involved in the British wrestling scene.

It's got ketchup, what more do you want.

I don't want to come over all La-Dee-dah but some butter on the bread to start with.

  6. I'd sooner have the golfer Tom Watson as leader of the Labour Party than Tom Watson the MP.

Golfer Tom has a great swing, hopefully it would be a swing to Labour.

Unbelievable that anyone would put LPW onto ignore. Some of the best entertainment going, at the time, that.

His posts were funny, the DM's less so. It was for the best just to ignore the useless little cunt completely.

  8. There is some proper cunty scheming going on today by the sounds of it. Boris threatening all the Tory MPs who are considering voting against him with deselection and what the BBC are calling "More than rumours" that Boris will look to call a general election on Friday. If he does that earliest likely election date 17th of October. No parliamentary discussion of Brexit if everyone is fighting an election.

  9. A really absorbing fight to watch. I don't think there was anything Campbell could have done differently to get a different result, that was pretty much the best Luke Campbell. He had his moments but he was comprehensively out fought. Loma v the winner of Commey and Teofimo Lopez is an appealing fight. Probably Lopez but that will be a close fight as well.

No Froch on commentary either was a massive bonus. Has he fallen out with Hearn? Adam Smith seemed to have a little pop about him not been there. Not very respectful

Did anyone mention Craig Charles and Sanjeev Bhaskar's sitcom about pirates yet?

I can't for the life of me remember what this is called. I think I watched it at the time. I don't remember anything about it, apart from something about having sex with a mermaid.

I hope to god that was in this show and I haven't subconsciously outed myself as some sort of fish fiddler.
