That sets better than the shitty looking one they've been using recently. I still think hte post-Hogan set was the best one, I also liked the seperate enhtrance "chutes" before that as well, set it apart a bit although came off very "Gladiators" or something.

Eubank looked good, he throws far too many punches though and definitely lacks true power. Fury was boring but comprehensive. Really want to see him fight a guy with a good record and of a similar size before Wlad.
Â
Im going to the Liverpool show this weekend... was mainly for Derry Matthews against Abril but thats cancelled now. It'll be gbood to see Jazza Dickens and Liam Smith but Butler - Tete is the only real worthwhile fight for me.

Mine shoots a laser beam that can destroy small planets.
-
Jeff Hardy by a quite a distance I imagine.
kurt angle is the other i could see being at least higher paid than Lashley.
-
Yep if theres two guys that should go in its Vader and Sid. They are going to need to slow down theres few headliners left in my mind.

Ok i hear you, yeh thinking back to the old friday fight night shows...but like you said the quality on the Matchroom shows is very good these days, they rarely put on a dud show.Â
nope, less boxing since matchroom got exclusive sky dates. used to be a card every week pretty much. the cards are better, but now we have to pay extra for a world title eliminator. almost as much a joke as the Groves - Degale PPV. they also sold 10 thousand tickets, but id guess a LOT of that was touts. Think Hearn even said that himself.Â
but there is isn't there?whoever said theres more boxing on sky now than in years are full of shit. the cards are better but were gna have to pay for every big one, even without a proper title on the line.
Boxing in this country is doing great at the moment, i don't understand the negativity here. Just a couple of years ago Sky dropped boxing altogether, now they probably average 2 shows per month and are drawing the big crowds all over the country. Bellew/Cleverly sold 10,000 tickets in 48 hours, and that was before the majority of the undercard was announced,
we are getting a lot more boxing in general and it seems to be on an upswinv but its a bad time to be a sky sports subscriber if your just a boxing fan.
As for Tony fucking Bellew, i hear you on that also but given the supporting cast, plus the Bellew-Cleverly fight i think it justifies the PPV tag. Bellew himself said that he and Ceverly alone don't warrant PPV. The guys one of the better self promoters in British boxing though, you might not like the schtick but he is without doubt.
Anyways, fuck it, im buying the PPV regardless.
i know where your coming from but there are loads of duds that have happened, and WBA "regular" being marketed as a world championship when it really isnt. the card isnt even that good. The fury chisora one is far better.
-
and to clarify, its a bad time because now your paying that extortionate price as well as 17 pounds or whatever. fair play for Froch, or even Brook. but not Tony fucking Bellew.

Bellew in "Creed" is bullshit. he said so.

Thankfully 5 are showing Afolabi - Hernandez in December and Murray Golovkin next year. hope they promote it and it garners hood ratings, or 5 will probably not bother again
-
The Monte Carlo card with Murray - Spada, Hall - Caballero IBF title fight along with Nick Blackwell against Khomitsky is going to be shown on channel 5. First world title fight on terrestrial since Khan - Malignaggi IIRC.
South African Hekkie Budler in an IBO/WBA (iirc) on the undercard as well but I doubt they could fit all these fights in on tele. I'd be happy with the first three.
I'd love it if this got big ratings, but 5's boxing ratings have severely declined since Degale and Fury left so I doubt it does that much. That last place Murrayfought looked pretty shit on TV as well, I'm guessing this is the same venue.
-
Yeah I found him on that boxing to be a bit embarassing. It's just too corny of a style for serious combat sports, although I did think he'd be quite suited to MMA. I'll have to give it a watch to see how he got on for myself
-
At this point a name change, total reboot and reinvention as a TV show with the odd live event is the only way forward I can see. no way can they carry on with house shows to a coupel hundred people.
-
Anyone remember TNA Impact being on Eurosport? ANyone know where I could find it? Im sure they treated it kind of like a real sport, spoke over a lot of the promos and the commentators didn't know their arse from their elbow.
-
is anyone a fan of the narration?
I actually do like it. It can be hit or miss though, the aforementioned part about sex was a definite miss. It seems dated but so does everything else.
Â
I've just blasted through episodes 1-5, the pace is crazy and multiple characters I never thought appeared until much ater in the show have already surfaced.
Â
Not a bad character but at times O'reilly's shite acting pisses me off.
-
Anyone know where I can get a look at his different looks? I never saw the small logo on the cheek or the big earrings that were spoken of. I also never saw his muscle singlet??
-
From what I've heard, it was because he was barely strong enough to shake them.
-
Great post! TNA do seem a bit far gone... it's been a mad rollercoaster since Hogan and co joined but they seem like amateurs with some of their division making. I'd go as far as to say they'd be better off going off-air for a short time and coming back under a new name and starting fresh. Might not be viable but I can't see TNA as a brand growing anymore.

The Maxinutrition Knockout on 5 had a cracking British title fight on Saturday, with Bob Ajisafe edging 40 year old Dean Francis in a great back and forth fight. Francis was in trouble often but was firing back and landing some tremendous right hands. The other semi-final fight was Tony Hill and Leon Senior, in a fight cut short by an accidental headbutt causing a cut on Senior's head. Hill goes through as a result.
Â
Quite a decent little tourney Hennessy's put together, Danny Mcinstosh and Travis Dickinson for the English light heavy title, and Matty Clarkson and Lee Duncan in an eliminator for the same title are the next semi-finals on the Galahad undercard next weekend.

He's 6'2". He's taller than most of the roster.
Fair play I dont watch much wrestling these days, but when he was stood next to guys like Billy Gunn a few years back I couldn't help but think he was too small to be your typical WWE "big fat man" and too big to be your smaller "worker".
-
I dont think Joe would have ever been pickedup for WWE. He's too small and fat.
-
I really liked Burt Wonderstone.
Â
I don't think Jim Carrey will go straight to DVD I think he's more likely to go down the character actor route in unexpected films. I hope so anyway because I really like him.
His films still regularly break the 100mil mark. I doubt hell go direct to dvd ever. Hes just too big a star.
-
Run in smaller venues, is that feasible? Id love if spike bought them out, changed the name and just started from scrstch. Theyve got the built in audience of a million, and can work on building that up properly.

That's insane. Surely if it was in the observer it would be mentioned SOMEWHERE
