  1. I like Cleverly and he had clearly injured himself before or during the second Bellew fight. His run before he became champ was actually quite good , he did it the right way (commonwealth, british, european) IMO and he was highly touted, it's just a shame Frank Warren had to milk him when he got near  the top. Apparently it was Cleverly who wanted the Kovalev fight, which took balls and was testament to his self belief even if it did prove to be a naieve move.

Nathan of 5 years ago beats this Fonfara in my mind. The fact that he's gotten so far without a proper trainer most of the time just shows what a natural talent he is. At only 28 I think he's still got another world title in him, whereas I cant say the same for Bellew.

  2. Scott Hall's one of my favourite wrestlers ever. I'll definitely give that a listen. Glad to hear he sounds good.

What's the score with him now, has he stayed sober since he was staying with DDP? Obviously that's impossible for us to know for sure but has there not been any obvious falls off the wagon since then? To be totally honest, Hall was one guy I never thought would sort his life out. It's great to hear he's in a good place these days.

Hall was thrown out of some indy show at a festival for being drunk. other than that I havent heard anything

  3. Yeah we share a lot of the same interests, it's just gotten boring and a lot of the time she just irritates me etc.... I almost feel like she's just a friend at times and with kids, engagement etc. coming in the next year or two I'll have to sort myself out. I would never want to hurt her and in many ways I'm lucky (she is truly devoted to me), so it's really really hard. Just got to get my head around it and decide what I want before that stuff does happen, we've talked about working abroad next summer so maybe that can help us.

  4. The ex isn't an option from sound of it, you where drunk and emotional and looked back with tinted glasses as you were in a bad place.

Yeah I knew it wasn't an option, guess it was just me thinking how i felt confirmed my previous doubts about my current gf. But yeah things have gotten stale as we never really do anything, but i guess its just as much down to me.

  5. I dont often post on the off topic here, but I need to get something off my chest and want to know what others think. I have been getting doubts of my girlfriend of 4+ years. I do love her but I just don't know how "in love" I am. It comes and goes in phases.

This past week, after one of my best friend's funerals, i ended up partying with an ex from a long time (8 years) ago. She apologised for a lot of the shitty stuff she did to me, listened to me drunkenly open up and listened.

I don't know if she was actually interested in me, probably just trying to be a good pal. She showed up at the same party I had crashed at in the morning, I had been drinking again (she wasnt). I ended up talking a load of shite, as you do when drunk, but opened up to her just the two of us again (just about my friend, my stagnant life, etc) but I havent been able to stop thinking about her  since. I know I dont really know that girl any more, would definitely not want to be with her again, we live hundreds of miles apart and there is a good chance i wont see her again bar perhaps a funeral or wedding of a mututal friend, but what does it mean for my relationship? it has only been a couple of days since then, and it has been a hard few weeks, especially the funeral etc. But it's like it's brought my doubts and want for change to the surface.
Am I just being silly and going through what a lot of young people (26) do when they've had niggling doubts and go through hard times in their life, or should I seriously start considering making radical change (example: leaving my gf, moving away) if I can't be as happy as I want to be the way things are?

  6. I grew up in north Wales, which was obviously Orig Williams territory.

The first show I remember was at Holyhead Leisure Centre, which would have been around 1992 or so. My memory is quite sketchy but I remember a fake Ultimate Warrior on the card as well as the "third" British Bulldog, who used to team with Dynamite Kid in Japan but his name escapes me. At school the next day though, we were all convinced that Sean South was actually Road Warrior Hawk, and "not a fake like the rest."

I remember going to a few "Reslo" TV tapings in Beaumaris as well as more of Orig's summer shows in Llandudno, and was lucky enough to see Giant Haystacks wrestle.

My first American promotion show wasn't until the first ever UK Raw taping in Manchester, October 2004. I forgot that I'd seen Shawn Michaels wrestle live until I searched for these results now. http://www.onlineworldofwrestling.com/results/raw/041011.html

That tribute show sounds a lot like the one I saw in the Shetland Isles in the early 90s. I remember we also thought the road warrior was the only real deal lol

  7. So Floyd Mayweather has apparently been stripped of the WBO title he won in the Pacquiao fight after failing to pay $200,000 to have the fight administered. Timothy Bradley will now become the full champion.

Still made a cool payday out of it though, an estimated $220m so far after taking PPV revenue in account

Funny how this is such big news. People who don't know their boxing are under the impression he is no longer a champion.
  8. Mayweather - Thurman, Porter or Khan are the only fights I can see happening.

In other news, Roy Jones Junior will fight at the Aintree Equestrian Centre, September 12th on one them cards not licensed by the BBBofC but by the Mlata commision (most likely a WBU title defense). I might have to go, I think I'd rather see Jones in the flesh than see Brook fight Rios, as silly as it sounds.

  9. Wilder has looked swhigt and been rocked many a time, by far lesser fighters than Molina. He almost certainly would have been KO'd by Tony Thompson baxk when Price did.

  10. Yeah the whole nWo thing really did seem like a bunch of old men tryin to be "gangsta" in the end, much as i loved it.

Good point on Sting, I saw some of the early Crow stuff and it was insane they never recieved any sort of backlash from the Crow creator/filmmakers. I guess wrestling gets away with a lot of copyright infringement, though.

  12. I think Adnan probably did it, but didn't get a fair trial. Listening to a lot of things like True Murder where they interview a true crime author on a book each week has really opened my eyes to some of the corruption and completely broken justice system they have in the US.

Sword and Scale is definitely one that should be checked out as well, tells a a dark true crime story or has a theme every couple weeks and it plays out via clips of interviews, 911 calls, court proceedings, etc. It can be pretty hard to listen to when you're hearing a child sex predator give a tell all interview but it is a great insight into the dark twisted minds of killers and criminals.

  13. I honestly believe GFW could do much better than TNA at this point with it's current roster and maybe Angle and Hardy sprinkled on top. TNA looks like a failure to its long term fans, and looks way too second rate to everyone else. Back with the opposing entrance chutes and ticker in the corner on FSN looked better than the latest episode I'm watching on Challenge... (maybe not but from memory it certainly does)
