  1. Boxnation just showed a ard from Russia, was bizzare, had dancers, Roy Jones rapping, a band playing entrance themes and between rounds (with classics like Ghostbusters and Kashmir by Led Zepp) and Derek Chisora pointlessly addressing the crowd (a possible clash there with Povetkin?). Ws an entertaining show, the first two fights were robberies though. Denis Lebedev headlined, defending his interim WBA belt against Shawn Cox of Barbados, a KO artist who was seemingly out of his depth. KOed in the second round, didnt look like he wanted to be there after a couple of minutes though.

  2. RIP Bert Sugar

Oh boy, thats a whole chunk of Boxing knowlege and history gone.

Its a shame none of his knowledge of boxing was ever recorded in any way... oh wait...

nah but seriously, i dint like him but I respected him. RIP

  3. What the fuck was that shit? Mcphilibin should have that overturned to an NC, because if they hadnt cut the first round 40 odd seconds short, enzo would have been KOed severely. Corruption at its worst, he better get nowhere near cleverly!

gutted I didnt watch Premier Sports instead, check this peach out http://youtu.be/e6zKWQVENB8

It wasnt corruption, it was ineptitude of the highest degree on the time keepers part but there is no cloak and dagger here unlike the Khan fight (still reckon Khan lost the fight and when he shows a degree of humility and accepts his shortcomings may be accepted and adored by the british public).

I agree there should be a re-match and believe Enzo will give it to him as well.

Would the round have one short had it been mcphilibin on the canvas? probably not! enzo will likely win the rematch, fight clverly and then hopefully retire

id like to see choi tseveenpurev pick up a proper title before he retires, or at least get a shot.

  5. Agree with Matt Skelton Ebb, always liked him also.

He more often than not comes across well and sounds like a decent person and I think the fact he took the sport up so late in life he can be pretty proud of the career he's had.

That fight with Dallas was an embarassment, being hammerblowed whilst lying almost horizontally across the ropes? never seen anything like that. Terrible fight, I think since he got a gift decision against t5hat journeyman Zack Page, and got KTFO by Price, I think his heart just isnt really in it. They could try build his confidence and go for it again, but as far as I can tell this guys another Scott Belshaw.

Enzo Mac is taking on Shan Mcphilibin tonight on Boxnation for the British cruiser title. Its plain to see there trying to bag Enzo a title before he moves down to fight Cleverly. Havent seen Shane, but apparently hes fucking shite and was lucky to pick up the title in the first place. WAR ENZO!

  6. Mormeck was a joke, he should never have been in the same ring as Wlad to begin with. Wlad against David Price in the future will be good because I think Price has a great chance of not only winning the fight but also knocking klitschko out.

What actually makes you think that? far too early to tell, and Price is said to have a dodgy chin (a few amateurs have told me this)

  7. Dereck Chisora given indefinite ban by World Boxing Council.

Oh well, theres still the WBO, IBF, WBA regular/interim/super for him to go for  If they dont withold it from his purse, he shouldnt bother paying any fines. WBC are a commercial entity not the boxing police, and hypocrites at that. If Chavez Jr. had done this, an indefinite ban would have been out of the question.

  8. just wondering if any wrestling is shown on SS 1 or 2? my mate gave me his sky id for my xbox, but you only get SS 1 and 2 as far as I am aware. I only really got it for boxing and wrestling.

Nope - you get all 5 Sky Sports channels streamed live through the XBox, so you should be fine.

Sorry about that, I thought it was like Freeview where you could only get the 2 channels. Nice, all my mates are getting/giving their friends/relatives IDs to share Sky Sports, its pretty fuking cool.

  9. I watched, was a decent night. I think Huck Pvetin was very close and could have gone either way, also watched lee mcallister on sky sports, man that was shameful. If you havent hgeard aleady, the general feeling is he was getting his arse handed to him and fabricated a broken hand story to retire at the end of the seventh. Hes delusional, calling for a rematch for possibly MORE money. If you check the Sun, his manager called him washed up, and Frank Maloney said hell never fight on Sky again lol

  10. Last night must have been the first ever PrizeFighter where the favourite won? Like the tournament at the start for novelty value with the heavyweights, it was a bit of a freakshow, but quickly losing it's appeal now.

Its a fast paced show with a fixed cost that attracts the casual viewer. I have a feeling if viewership dwindles they wont get rid of them, but limit them to a couple a year. At the moment, it feels like once a month we see them, Ive even heard from people tht torunaments like them almost killed the pro game in some areas of the UK back in the 70s(I think?)

The second that Tyson Fury gets in the ring with a real fighter he is going to get absolutely mauled. It's like Naseem Hamed all over again.

Ridiculous. Do you even watch boxing? Naz dominated his weight class for years, until he came up against future hall of famer and all round P4P legend Barrera. Thats like saying "This is Ricky Hatton all over again!"

  11. I lurk on Eastside and it seems ok. Mainly for the piss taking out of Wank Frarren.

Im a regular on there, have been for years now I think, good bunch of lads in the british forum if you hang about long enough to know which threads to ignore! A lot of boxers/trainers etc post. to so you get good insight. Warren gets a lot of stick on there, his name comes up as simply *****s and a lot of topics (some very trivial in relation to him) have been taken down.

  12. Ages and ages ago, I said that the only credible world title at any weight is the IBO World Heavyweight Title. They put it on Lennox Lewis, the undisputed heavyweight champion at the time, and it passed to Rahman and then back to Lewis. Lewis retired and they put it on Klitschko two years later after he beat Chris Byrd, which they felt was a fight between the the top 2 in the division at that time.

Only credible becaus LL and Wlad made it credible. Look at who held it before then...

  13. Cotto beign prtected, its just the way it is in boxing. too many people interested in their "0".

Saw the Khan fight last night, had it not been for the points deductions I would have had Khan winning. Hes shown that he has a good chin, but awful defence and little inside game at all.

  14. I'm probably reading too much into this, but with TNA doing the India thing and naming their Spike show just 'Impact Wrestling', is this them turning TNA into an NWA type deal? Having constant world wide 'territories', instead of a WWE model of selling their US based shows internationally and then doing a few shows on a continent a couple of times a year. It's an odd move, hopefully it pays off for them.

would be pretty awesome if they slowly built up feds in untapped territories, hopefully it will be available over here some way. i take it they chose india due to tnas popularity there, and the sheer amount of people there

  15. How well of do you think the Warrior is? He'd have made a fair few bob but its been well over a decade since he worked regularly, and his run in WCW was mercifully short.

I guess it depends on how well he invested his cash. I have a feeling he is actually quite well off but does his hawking around of crap because of his ego. Then again he may have gone 'Burt Reynolds' crazy and spent millions on silly things. It actually surprises me when wrestlers say that they don't have money - it may not be the best paid game in the world but it's a darn lot better than most 9 to 5 jobs. I remember in Dynamites book when he says that at one point (I think 88 after leaving the WWF) that he had all his properties etc. paid off and he could've retired.

If i remember rightly he said on paper he was a millionaire for a short period of time, but gave up his propertys when he left his ex wife.

From what i've heard most wrestlers thought the money would never run out so bought huge mansions and stupid expenses cars that had them putting down large payments on stuff, so when the money did run out......they had non. The smarter guys either didnt buy bomb loads of stuff, or just lived on the minimum until they retired. Alex Wright for example mentioned he lived a flat, and drove a cheap car, so when he went home to open a wrestling school........he had money up to the 9's!

The same could be said, on a much worse scale, for boxers. No wrestler ever would have made as much as top line boxers, but many of them end up in the gutter/not far from it.

The thing with Warrior is I was under the impression he would still be pretty loaded, but who knows if he could have maintained the wealth he had upto the mid 90s. I dont understand all these guys who blew their money like Dynamite, it would be soul destroying to go from being a beloved star across ythe world with millions in the bank, to living on a council estate in Manchester.

  16. Eubank Jr. looked good but we might as well have watched him hitting a punchbag. I loved the Fury, fight, he isnt gonna make world level but he'll be fun while he lasts. A british Tye Fields if ever I saw one.

  17. Ricky Burns may not be a world champ after saturday, but hes definitly world class. I'm hoping they dont go down tje soft touch route up at lightweight though, it got tedious at SFW

  18. Im looking to dress up as Hogan, anyone know where to get all the stuff cheap (top half only, not bothered about spandex haha)? Im not doing it for halloween, its for a birthday party on the 19th so I might hold out and see if anyone flogs some cheap stuff.

From one T to another

Best idea is hit the "local" (as most places seem to have one) costume shop, as they'll have the handle bar moustaches. Bar that i think A-merchandise may have Hulkamania tshirts/bandanas up for sale, and if you by a size larger you could stuff a few pillows up there or something hah! The costume shop may also sell a "Muscle man" style suit you could use!

    Hope that helps!

tracked down a couple things, just need a pair of glasses like his, might just buy cheap kids ones! cheers mate

hopefu;ly track down a kids title belt too!
